Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is sure to entertain you, especially if you play with friends, but the title doesn't innovate enough to stand out in the genre. With familiar mechanics and interesting gameplay, it offers an enjoyable experience, but no great surprises. If you're a fan of asymmetrical horror, it's worth a look, but don't expect anything revolutionary.

Between the random loot, different character builds, and varying maps, the thousandth match feels as fresh as the first. Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game perfectly captures the spirit of the movie, while innovating on the games it takes inspiration from.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game is wonderfully faithful in its aesthetic ties to the original IP. However as a game on its own merits, it struggles to give players the tools they need to learn and grow from the outset, and the inherently overly-sophisticated nature of its core gameplay loop, along with the limited roster of playable maps, lead to great concern over its potential longevity from here on out. I'm personally rooting for the developers at illFonic, as they seem an extremely passionate and talented team. However, sometimes hard truths need to be said, and Killer Klowns is going to have to work harder to prove that they warrant players' hard-earned money.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Gameis the unexpected clone that has no reason to exist.

Killer Klowns is a faithful adaptation, but nostalgia cannot compensate for lacking features that other asymmetrical horrors do better.

The action, while entertaining, is a bit of a drag. There are also bugs and glitches. There are more minor flaws like this, and they spoil the overall experience. But at its core, it's a fun multiplayer game with well-designed mechanics and well-balanced sides.

A highly authentic movie adaptation but a sadly predictable, and repetitive, video game, that does far too little to justify the continued trend of turning 80s horror film into asymmetric multiplayer games.
