The second half of the game really drags it down. The puzzles in the upper levels are more often than not just frustrating or make absolutely no sense. The portal travel gets ridiculous at points.
  2. Those whose idea of a good adventure involves inventory puzzles and plenty of characters to talk to may be put off by the emphasis on solitary exploration and puzzle solving, particularly given the game's surface resemblance to other quest-style adventures. But the beautiful setting, along with an interesting storyline, clever puzzles, and lots of little magical touches all help to bring the game to life.
  3. This is a tough recommendation because you have a really great start and a really great ending, but there is this mess in the middle I don’t want anybody to endure unless you are a glutton for puzzle punishment or don’t mind using the built-in hint system.

I think Keepsake can be appreciated by a small percentage of adventure genre lovers if players pace themselves.

An adventure game that could have been much more if players weren't preoccupied with the game's poor voice acting and bugs. That said, if you're itching to play a new point-and-click PC adventure with good puzzles, you might not be disappointed with this sub-$30 game.
  6. Keepsake ultimately feels like a lot of conundrum strung together loosely around a lackluster storyline and lots of jogging.
  7. It's got some occasionally interesting puzzles, but the lame story and irritating characters kill whatever appeal Keepsake might have had.

The latest in The Adventure Company's point-and-click offerings, Keepsake is billed as "part mystery, part Harry Potter." In reality, it's part boring and part really boring. [July 2006, p.99]
  9. Who knew that solving a mystery at a school for wizards would be so tedious?

Voices are badly acted and yu are stuck with the same 2 for the entirety of the game, which is super annoying. the music is OK, and theVoices are badly acted and yu are stuck with the same 2 for the entirety of the game, which is super annoying. the music is OK, and the overall sound effects again are on par with the rest of the game.
The puzzles start easy then fair and then become absurdly overcomplicated, which can and possibly will take your fun, because this game crashes a lot!!! I MEAN A LOT!!
If you are a puzzle fanatic, go for it and save a lot, because the game can crash on puzzles that are inside mazes making near impossible to know if you went the right way until the crash.
