    Just Cause is a game that has not aged well, my analysis is for who will play today and not taking into account the time.

    Pros: - Good variety of Vehicles and Weapons - It's nice to have special vehicles in each Base Cons: - Very bad physics. Motorcycles overturn cars, The jump is very ugly and strange, - Game mechanics are weird at times - Boring sidequests - Sidequests /    Just Cause is a game that has not aged well, my analysis is for who will play today and not taking into account the time.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    - Sidequests / taking islands is of no use to the game progress.
    - Ugly and disproportionate interior scenarios. (Large spaces with two or three soldiers)

    I had already played 2 a few years ago before revisiting the whole saga, but playing 1 these days was pretty bearable.
    I didn't have any motivation to collect all the items and conquer all the islands, and I tend to always try to close the games 100%.    … Expand

    Remembering came home from school, launched this game, find myself a vehicle and just was riding from one island to another. Due to the huge world map, I used to spend hours to get from one side of the map to another. A truly classic JC title.

    If Micheal Bay ever made a video game, it would be this. You don't buy this game for the story, you buy it to just blow **** up. The grappling hook and the infinite parachuting gives you tons of opportunities to try out new way to interact with vehicles and environment which make this game so much fun. The explosions are quite good if you compare it to the standards of those times but theIf Micheal Bay ever made a video game, it would be this.     Хороший Джаст каус, обучение не такое долгое как в будущих частях. Графика интересная. Но игра лучше становится когда доезжаешь до города, просто катался по джунглям скучновато

    I remember being blown away by the scope of this game. It was so huge back in the day. Overall it's a fun experience but in no way perfect one.

    This game is very very crazy, but it is the most realistic one in the series. This also has the best driving controls in the series, at least in my opinion.

    This game is fun only for first few hours, than its repetitive and not really technically great too. Not worth playing.

    The only impressive thing about this game is that the map is very big for a game being released 2006. Apart from that this game is a mess and I could chose to complain about loads of things, but just to mention some things:
    - you can jump from 20 meter heights or take 20 bullets without dying, but as soon as a vehicle runs into you in 5 km/h, you die almost instantly.
    - controls are a    The only impressive thing about this game is that the map is very big for a game being released 2006. Apart from that this game is a mess and I could chose to complain about loads of things, but just to mention some things:

    - checkpoints are only reliable on main missions, I once lost progress on like 3 side missions because I died in an explosion and got sent back to the last time I completed a main mission. So to secure the side mission progress you would need to travel to a safe house and manually save between every mission, and fast travelling is kinda slow in this game.
    - trying to drive away from enemies is almost impossible, just a few bullet hits will demolish your car, and not getting hit is very hard since it's always spawning gun mounted cars that you can't outdrive. What you'll need to do is drive until the car starts burning, jump out and steal one of the enemies cars. You usually have to do this multiple times per chase.    … Expand

Acting is... huh... intense? Well all the characters of this game are overacting. Women only appear for their huge breasts, just as if the players were needy heterosexual males. Vehicules are way too slow for the size of the map. The major thing you will do while playing this game is driving from point A to point B, avoiding multiple cars on the way. Plus some missions only requires to drive even more. Sometimes you wanna cut through jungle to get to destination faster but you will surely end up getting blocked by trees, rocks or impassable climbs. So the game makes sure you take the correct and extremely long route.
    Physics are broken. The save option is awful since you must reach some dumb computer in order to save your game Still playable and sometimes and funny in spite of itself.    … Expand

    Game has excess bloom but its understandable because without it, the foliage wont look good at all. The map feels empty, but Avalance did a daring job to make a significantly large map without any loading screens and deserves praise. The story was weak but realistic and believable unlike Jc3 & 4 where you are basically a superhero. The thought of actually travelling the whole map without any in-game restrictions was immensely satisfying for me back in those times when there werent much true open world games set in the tropics. The map was so huge that i often used to play it like a driving simulator by setting up markers on different positions on the map and travelling with vehicles to the predefined location while enjoying the beauty of the landscape that i encountered along the way.… Expand

    По поводу графики, хотелось бы отметить, что это далеко не Crysis и даже не Half-Life 2. Честно скажу, для 2006 это не очень, но всё компенсируется довольно большим открытым миром. Но и здесь придирчивые и внимательные игроки отметят, что большинство игрового мира это - лес, горы и море (или океан, не знаю). В любом случае, мир довольно обширный и чтобы его полностью обойти понадобится много времени, к счастью, мне это не особо интересно и я просто перемещаюсь из точки в точку.
    Касательно побочных заданий, их можно описать словами: убей, привези, укради, взорви.
    Захват баз для наших соратников это, конечно, интересно, но 3700 очков, ребят, извините, но нет.
    Если рассматривать сюжет, то это обычный фильм с Сильвестром Сталлоне, только в главной роли Рико Родригес.
    Стоит упомянуть, что главный герой, конкретно в этой части не блещет харизмой, хотя предпосылки имеются.
    Транспорта много, почти на любой вкус, не хватает только ракет, дирижаблей, велосипедов и т.д. В основном, для перемещений я использовал вертолёт, т.к. он быстрый и везде пролезет.
    Оружия мало, как по мне, но это мелочи.
    Хочется написать про геймплей, ведь, это важная составляющая каждой игры и эта не исключение. Тот же самый захват баз происходит так: Приезжаешь на точку, подходишь к мужику, берёшь задание, вы с солдатами начинаете бежать сломя голову, пытаетесь убить всех, кто вам мешает, взрываете баррикаду (всего 3 баррикады на каждой базе) и либо захватываете флаг, либо убиваете главаря, это в зависимости от команды, у которой брали задание.
    На счёт сюжетных заданий писать не буду, т.к. у всех они проходятся по разному.
    ИИ в этой игре наглухо отбитый, боты либо ничего тебе не могут сделать и не попадают по тебе 100+ раз подряд, либо за тобой гонятся все преступные группировки острова и полиция, вертолёты которой шотают с одного раза.
    Музыка навевает Мексиканскую жизнь, даже не знаю хорошо это или плохо. Особенно хороша музыка в последней миссии.
    Из минусов, хотелось бы отметить отсутствие русского языка (это так сложно? даже обычные юзеры смогли сделать русификатор)
    Множество багов, в основном визуальные, не влияющие на геймплей.
    Маленький вертолётик из доставки очень легко взрывается и я много раз из-за него перепроходил задания.
    Сложные задания, пару раз знатно горело.    … Expand

Fortunately the islands do feel active, with it's residents warring actively as you traverse the geography.

    The main story consists of approx. 20 missions, which can be dusted in 4 hours at a leisurely pace (ignoring distractions or detours). The bright side is that each mission is pretty fun and segmented with some quirky cutscenes.

    You can probably finish the campaign before your attention wears out, so no biggie. I recommend it if you can get it cheap.    … Expand

    Guns, explosions, and a plot that nobody cares about, Just Cause can be described as some B-movies that ultimately makes no sense at all. Not that I'm complaining.

    That's it really.

    Cons:
    -Looks bad. I know it's old, but even for old, I just find the character models to be an early 2000 thing rather than a late one. Jungle looks alright, but towns all look alike, and some feel very much like chunks of town copypasted all over the map.
    -No memorable music
    -Very mediocre story, not the terrible kind, not the so bad it's good kind, just an uninteresting and boring basic story with no value. Same applies to the characters, although I found Rico to be somewhat cool.

    None of this is that bad though, because Just Cause as a series is all about the fun that the gameplay provides.

    And uuuuuugh.

    Controls in general aren't very satisfying. Shooting your guns is imprecise so you have to get a close-ish range for most fights. Moving around isn't exactly very fluid. Control in cars and vehicles is however ludicrous. It works, sure, but the entire physics engine is just the most basic thing in the game: if you hit a rock at 140km/h, you'll go to 0 in 0 seconds. You spin out of control very easily, controls are rough and unpleasant in general, with a lot of simplistic driving mechanics that force you to go through the same motions at every curve.
    Enemy AI certainly won't help, on cars it's ridiculously predictable and it brings zero fun to the game. On foot it shoots you decently enough.
    Parachute also sucks to control, so there's no fun in anything that's not you on foot.

    The game is usually about 3 things:
    -Driving around
    -Shooting people
    -Shooting people in a battle

    The diversity in the gameplay thanks to the grappling hook and stuff to destroy in later games simply doesn't exist here. All you have is a huge map with lots of copypasted villages and cities and some missions that are usually about shooting more stuff, and you go from settlement to settlement, mission to mission, driving with poor mechanics, then shooting some enemies, shooting them in a town, shooting them in a field, shooting them near a mansion...

    The problem really is with the going around IMHO, the shooting lacks diversity and hasn't got great control, but it certainly has some fun in it. The entirety of the game very quickly tires however, between the general ugliness, lack of diversity, very poor driving, and the crappy AIs that either don't provide much challenge or outright get in your way when they're supposed to help (kudos on these guerillero ass*oles when I'm trying to gun down a chopper with the machine gun on their trucks and they get on the wheel and drive us AWAY from my target without me being able to stop them!), and some other bugs and glitches, and the auto-aim with all armed vehicles, and the list goes on and on, all I can say is that the repetition and general poor design completely crush the novelties of this game, which were far more intelligently designed in its sequel.    … Expand

    Just Cause is a fun open-world action shooter game. It isn't a particularly flawless and perfect video game, but it certainly is addictive and may take a little too much of your time. It has successfully paved the way for the latter two installments of the same title.

    Really good game. Story is great, graphics are pretty good too (liked it despite it was ~2013 (when bought/completed it)). Really loved having fun with hook, had to travel long distances to use heli on missions, conquered posts... Totally recommend it, really great.

    Decido darle una segunda oportunidad al titulo. Inicio el juego, no me dicen nada de lo que pasa, salto de un helicóptero y toca matar gente. Por qué? No tengo idea, creo que todo el juego son excusas para matar. Pensaba hacer al menos 5 misiones a ver si lo soportaba, pero ni eso me dura sin errores. De hay intento de nuevo y paso una mision, de hay pienso que tal ves la cosa mejore, pero un carro me atropella y quedo atrapado en un bug en el que estoy encerrado en mi moto mientras atravieso un carro sin la posibilidad ni de mover la propia moto.

    Supongo que es un juego de matar y una mala historia para ocultar que eso es todo. No lo complete y no lo completare, es perder el tiempo para ser honesto.

    It is not a good game for shooting type ,i don't like it.....the soldiers keep on coming here and there ,after even we shoot them .....the still come again and again ....

    If you like GTA, Don't EVER buy this game, it will bug the Hells out of you (Story, graphic, characters motion, music, everythings). Buy San andreas instead.

    Approximately 180 miles south of here a certain Mr I. Newton will be spinning in his grave. Luckily for him he can't get out and play this thing. Actually I'm doing the game a disservice. It is tremendous fun for a few hours. After that it's all downhill like the opening parachute jump. It's best not to take this game too seriously (if that's even possible) and then you will have a prettyApproximately 180 miles south of here a certain Mr I. Newton will be spinning in his grave. Luckily for him he can't get out and play this thing. Actually I'm doing the game a disservice. It is tremendous fun for a few hours. After that it's all downhill like the opening parachute jump. It's best not to take this game too seriously (if that's even possible) and then you will have a pretty good time until you get bored with an extreme bout of deja vu. I toyed with 6/10 but decided on a 7 because I laughed a lot, and arsing around, seeing what stupid thing you can do next appeals to the kid in all of us.… Expand

    303 unimaginative and bland missions. this game is truly about quantity over quality....sadly. the rest of the stuff- AI, Combat, controls, sounds, graphics, story, gameplay etc etc. can all be summed up in one word: TERRIBLE. the game gets 1 point for the parachuting/para    89 vehicles that all look and handles like poop.

    You can be a passanger, when hp is low slomo activates, lots of stunts, mounted guns on vehicles, multiple weapons that you can switch between (in a vehicle ofcourse), nice graphics, good features in PDA. Weapons, vehicles, guns ar availabel in safe house and they are diffrent in every safehouse, parachute feature is great, lock'on target feature.

    Every time you change graphics you have to restart, laggy on low graphics (high graphics gave me best performence), nothing to do in free roam besides kill, get bounty, hijack. Tereble controls when sweeming under water, borring missions, borring gameplay, bad hadlings on a ground vehicles, Lame AIs, retardet pursuits.
    I rated 3 cause it's borring. The game is woth attention, but not worth buying it    … Expand
