    A mediocre game at best. Buggy AI,. Graphics become insanely choppy on a multi-processor or hyper-threaded processor box. The fix involves alt-tabbing out, and changing the processor affinity via Windows Task Manager, a problem still unacknowledged by the publisher. Poorly tested mission goals force you to dump your nice vehicle and solve the problem in the way that the developer A mediocre game at best. Buggy AI,.     Approximately 180 miles south of here a certain Mr I. Newton will be spinning in his grave. Luckily for him he can't get out and play this thing. Actually I'm doing the game a disservice. It is tremendous fun for a few hours. After that it's all downhill like the opening parachute jump.     Just Cause is beautiful to look at and the island you play on is huge, from the start you havo total freedom of the island and if you want an idea on how big it is ,I would probly say that you could fit San andreas, Liberty city, and the island of farcry onto it. missions are ok and the physics are out of the window, My grip with this game is the pathetic control system, you can give all Just Cause is beautiful to look at and the island you play on is huge, from the start you havo total freedom of the island and if you want an idea on how big it is ,I would probly say that you could fit San andreas, Liberty city, and the island of farcry onto it. missions are ok and the physics are out of the window, My grip with this game is the pathetic control system, you can give all the controls new keys but for some odd reason if you have a 5 button mouse you are unable to use buttons 4 & 5 as well as the middle mouse button for anything. also lets say you set deploy parashute to the pagedown key and from time to time you can press that button to deploy the parashute BUT let say you press the stunt key to jump out of the car and onto its roof, well the parashute key now changes to something else, im sure once you get your head around how to redefine the controls and things start to make sence you will find just cause enjoyable. oh one last thing the game does not have joystick support so its mouse and keyboard all the way.… Expand

    It's basically a GTA clone, but not a bad one. The stunt mode is pretty good, even it does defy the laws of physics... jumping out of the cockpit of a plane and onto the wing, and parachuting to your target is great fun. The missions seem decent enough. It's one of those games which has some faults, but is still a good laugh.

    Even though the amazing world you have to deal with and some very interesting acrobatics that u can do , you always have the feeling that something misses. I think that if a creator could combinate the world of the just cause and the feeling that creates you an episode of the grand thief auto series , then we could speak for the bast action game ever. But just cause by itself wont be this game!!!

    Anonymous reviewer said it all... blatant PC port with horrible save function and several bugs that affect play (like the stuttering). Still, beneath al that lies a very fun game with some amazing visuals.

    Just Cause isn't bad at all. It's just over-the-top action with realism as an afterthought. When you play it, though, you realize it could have been so much more.

    Close .... but not quite. They made a beautiful, interesting, large world that you want to explore only to find it filled with poor animation and AI. When you first parachute down, you feel like it's black&white ..an enormouse world that opens before you. But in your first gunfight, when a car pulls up on a beach and baddies inside "fade" into view rather than actually getting out, Close .... but not quite. And it gets worse. In other gunfights, people pop up and down like jack-in-theboxes... How can they make a world that feels and looks so real, then screw it up so badly? Seven points for trying. It's a damn good engine, and you COULD make a good game with it. But you didn't. Better luck next time guys… Expand

    Just Cause is a fun open-world action shooter game. It isn't a particularly flawless and perfect video game, but it certainly is addictive and may take a little too much of your time. It has successfully paved the way for the latter two installments of the same title.

    Poor controls, no support for widescreen, and graphics are disappointing. Can't believe I spent $35 dollars to run around what feels like a deserted Island.

    The start is nice, but then it just drags on and on. Very repetitious and no end in sight.

    Guns, explosions, and a plot that nobody cares about, Just Cause can be described as some B-movies that ultimately makes no sense at all. Not that I'm complaining.

The open world is massive but relatively non-interactive, so the game is designed around fleeting gunplay and vehicular stunts; as such side content revolves around menial tasks 'drive here, kill x' or liberating settlements, which involves basic skirmishes across    Fun game.

Fortunately the islands do feel active, with it's residents warring actively as you traverse the geography.

    The main story consists of approx. 20 missions, which can be dusted in 4 hours at a leisurely pace (ignoring distractions or detours). The bright side is that each mission is pretty fun and segmented with some quirky cutscenes.

    You can probably finish the campaign before your attention wears out, so no biggie. I recommend it if you can get it cheap.    … Expand

    Моё знакомство с серией началось именно с этой части, потому что, я считаю, что нельзя оценивать серию игр, если даже не играл в первую часть. По поводу графики, хотелось бы отметить, что это далеко не Crysis и даже не Half-Life 2. Честно скажу,    Кто-то ещё помнит первую часть Just Cause?

    По поводу графики, хотелось бы отметить, что это далеко не Crysis и даже не Half-Life 2. Честно скажу, для 2006 это не очень, но всё компенсируется довольно большим открытым миром. Но и здесь придирчивые и внимательные игроки отметят, что большинство игрового мира это - лес, горы и море (или океан, не знаю). В любом случае, мир довольно обширный и чтобы его полностью обойти понадобится много времени, к счастью, мне это не особо интересно и я просто перемещаюсь из точки в точку.
    Касательно побочных заданий, их можно описать словами: убей, привези, укради, взорви.
    Захват баз для наших соратников это, конечно, интересно, но 3700 очков, ребят, извините, но нет.
    Если рассматривать сюжет, то это обычный фильм с Сильвестром Сталлоне, только в главной роли Рико Родригес.
    Стоит упомянуть, что главный герой, конкретно в этой части не блещет харизмой, хотя предпосылки имеются.
    Транспорта много, почти на любой вкус, не хватает только ракет, дирижаблей, велосипедов и т.д. В основном, для перемещений я использовал вертолёт, т.к. он быстрый и везде пролезет.
    Оружия мало, как по мне, но это мелочи.
    Хочется написать про геймплей, ведь, это важная составляющая каждой игры и эта не исключение. Тот же самый захват баз происходит так: Приезжаешь на точку, подходишь к мужику, берёшь задание, вы с солдатами начинаете бежать сломя голову, пытаетесь убить всех, кто вам мешает, взрываете баррикаду (всего 3 баррикады на каждой базе) и либо захватываете флаг, либо убиваете главаря, это в зависимости от команды, у которой брали задание.
    На счёт сюжетных заданий писать не буду, т.к. у всех они проходятся по разному.
    ИИ в этой игре наглухо отбитый, боты либо ничего тебе не могут сделать и не попадают по тебе 100+ раз подряд, либо за тобой гонятся все преступные группировки острова и полиция, вертолёты которой шотают с одного раза.
    Музыка навевает Мексиканскую жизнь, даже не знаю хорошо это или плохо. Особенно хороша музыка в последней миссии.
    Из минусов, хотелось бы отметить отсутствие русского языка (это так сложно? даже обычные юзеры смогли сделать русификатор)
    Множество багов, в основном визуальные, не влияющие на геймплей.
    Маленький вертолётик из доставки очень легко взрывается и я много раз из-за него перепроходил задания.

    - you can jump from 20 meter heights or take 20 bullets without dying, but as soon as a vehicle runs into you in 5 km/h, you die almost instantly.

    - you can't vault over ledges
    - checkpoints are only reliable on main missions, I once lost progress on like 3 side missions because I died in an explosion and got sent back to the last time I completed a main mission. So to secure the side mission progress you would need to travel to a safe house and manually save between every mission, and fast travelling is kinda slow in this game.
    - trying to drive away from enemies is almost impossible, just a few bullet hits will demolish your car, and not getting hit is very hard since it's always spawning gun mounted cars that you can't outdrive. What you'll need to do is drive until the car starts burning, jump out and steal one of the enemies cars. You usually have to do this multiple times per chase.    … Expand

    However your character, Rico, can take an incredible amount of bullets without dying while being rolled on the corner of the foot by a car launched at 2km/h sends him instantly into the other world. Acting is... huh... intense? Well all the characters of this game are overacting. Women only appear for their huge breasts, just as if the players were needy heterosexual males. Vehicules are way too slow for the size of the map. The major thing you will do while playing this game is driving from point A to point B, avoiding multiple cars on the way. Plus some missions only requires to drive even more. Sometimes you wanna cut through jungle to get to destination faster but you will surely end up getting blocked by trees, rocks or impassable climbs. So the game makes sure you take the correct and extremely long route.
    Physics are broken. The save option is awful since you must reach some dumb computer in order to save your game Still playable and sometimes and funny in spite of itself.    … Expand

    Хороший Джаст каус, обучение не такое долгое как в будущих частях. Графика интересная. Но игра лучше становится когда доезжаешь до города, просто катался по джунглям скучновато

    Скучно, глупо, кринжово, и для 2006го выглядить крайне плохо.

    I remember being blown away by the scope of this game. It was so huge back in the day. Overall it's a fun experience but in no way perfect one.
