Graphically, Juiced is very slick without getting too superfluous.
-
The gameplay is varied enough to maintain interest, and its clutch of quirky distractions adds to the experience.
-
PC FormatA nice idea, but the respect system eventually begins to grate. [June 2005, p.97]
-
The racing feels bone-dry next to the tastier "Midnight Club 3"; the tracks in Juiced are closed off and clean, giving the game a hygienic feel.
-
It does feature a fair bit of cars, some decent courses to drive on, a nice arcade mode and multiplayer to boot, but when the graphics and overall presentation is unimpressive, gameplay mechanics don’t feel right, and very limited sound effects are included you’re probably left thinking that the money you spent should’ve gone elsewhere.

Play MagazineIf you're so inclined to prowl the mean streets for pinks, Juiced certainly deserves your registration. [July 2005, p.78]
-
Juiced fails to find a balance between the sweet and the sour, so will be a turn-off for those who like a guaranteed reward. But to others it'll be a tangy throwback to the old days, and for that we can't justifiably condemn it. [PC Gamer UK]
-
PC GamerAn ambitious attempt, but substandard physics and AI demote it to the B-list. [Sept 2005, p.62]
-
It simply exists in an inoffensive and unexciting realm of commonplaceness that makes it incapable of standing out among the pack of infinitely better racers available for any of its chosen platforms.
-
Edge MagazineAn impressively comprehensive, reasonably captivating though ultimately flawed experience. [June 2005, p.95]
-
Pelaaja (Finland)Juiced has many interesting features, but they all have been seen before in the games it shamelessly imitates. The game has interesting characters and good career-mode but why bother, when there are better games to choose from? [June 2005, p.62]
-
What Juiced offers is a career mode that has ideas about respect and making connections, but in the end is a clunky racer where the main gaming mechanic of making money to spend on more races and car parts can easily backfire and put players in a position of struggling to make ends meet.
-
The simple truth is that Juiced is behind the curve. The racing isn't bad, but the game places emphasis on the wrong reward system.
-
Offers a good variety of race options and an involved career mode, but that flawed mode puts too much focus on money, respect, and schedules, and not enough on actual racing.
-
I intend to play "Gran Turismo" as long as Polyphony decides to make new sequels simply because it's fun. Juiced, on the other hand, is not.
-
Computer Games MagazineTHQ salvaged the wreckage, polished the package, and let the game out of hte garage, where it debuts with middling success. [Oct 2005, p.68]
