Nov 12, 2019Journey For Elysium is a competently designed VR title with the right ideas, if just slightly underbaked. Considering the entire experience clocks in at a brisk hour and a half, I can only wonder how much better it could’ve been if it slowed down and took the time to flesh things out. For a first-time effort from developers Mantis Games, though, Journey For Elysium is a great start.

Nov 3, 2019Journey for Elysium offers us an enchanting getaway to the land of the dead with a very accomplished graphic style. The title provides an opportunity to use very immersive paddling and climbing techniques. However, the absence of room scale unfortunately affects the final result, as does the lack of a real challenge and the shortness of the adventure.

Nov 13, 2019Journey for Elysium’s gorgeous black and white visuals offer a terrific atmosphere and the trip to the end is fun, thanks to the variety of game play elements. But the game is over way too soon with some frustrating boating sections and simple puzzles.

Oct 31, 2019Journey for Elysium has some wonderful elements and high production values, such as the visual design, movement mechanics and voice acting. But like its protagonist, the title is stuck between two worlds, not quite offering enough gameplay challenge while the story fails to emotionally connect. At the right price Journey for Elysium is worth a quick blast through.
