An intriguing, beautiful mystery with a deep and memorable lead character, Jenny LeClue – Detectivú delivers in just about every way.

As the first part of a series, Jenny LeClue: Detectivu makes a great initial impression. The actual detective work strikes a balance between thought-provoking and easy to figure out. The presentation is wonderful, even if the audio could have fared better. It is the story that keeps you hooked with a flawed but likeable main character and a layered, supporting cast. It culminates in a story where the lack of a proper ending is the only thing that sours the experience. Provided that the team can release the second game in a timely manner, this'll be a memorable experience for adventure fans.

The charming protagonist is crushed under the weight of a lack of challenge, and sheer boredom. First of all, this isn't an adventure game, but an interactive novel - albeit a very good one, but it has a mind-numbingly slow, artificially padded pace that it's hard to recommend it to anyone who expects good gameplay.

  1. The result is a visually stunning game, belying its origins as a creation of two animators, alongside some delightful writing, weaving a complexity of narrative that completely surprised me. But one that offers the player far too little actual investigating, and in the end, far too much tiresome wandering. And then doesn’t end. Although this review now must.

The story was much darker than I expected, and the game was really scary at some times. I liked detective deductions. And the characters were nice.

A bit of X-files .. and a huge portion of Gravity Falls. The story is charming and well told. The musical score ... well, i have heard better.

The protagonist and all the people in the game have sufficient personality .. with the protagonist not being fully sympathetic but socially flawed like other characters, too.

The only thing i did not quite like was the controls - clearly its not a point and click adventure but one made for game pads. I find a game pad FAR inferior to mouse and keyboard in such an adventure game and in fact .. i am sure mouse controls would have been much better .. but it is what it is.... .
Also not to my liking was the checkpoint save system instead of a normal game save.

Other than those minor nitpicks .. a game worth its money and time for sure! ... just do not expect tough puzzles .. it certainly is on the very very easy side of adventure .. pretty much solves itself.
