    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been playing that game on gamigo ever since the beta times and switched to steam, too. As I am not a masochist, I guess you'll have to live with a more positive review then.

    Yes, there's shadow still (and I am not talking just about the merc with that name). To me, the campaign setting is fun, yet I am not the biggest fan of PvP.

    I'm old school, I prefer turn-based over real-time, hands down. A lot of people love this game's pvp. Good for them, whatever floats their boat. I guess the recent patch will do its own good work in making pvp less p2w than people saw it as previously (waiting for the outcry to hit the forum that they took special ammo, i.e. armor piercing and hollow point, out of the shop). With these kinds of ammo only dropping in missions now (if at all) or as contract rewards, the pvp game will definitely take a swift turn to skill over (bought) equipment. Shame it will have an impact on the campaign mode, too, as some missions in the upper level definitely benefited from a late-mission equalizer..

    In summary, I am rather happy with the game. It keeps me entertained, for hours, weeks, heck, months now. You always get an answer in general chat (along with the regular group of trolls), developers are responsive, in forum, via email or even in general chat, and there's enough of a fan-base to supply equipment directories and interactive build guides.

    Considering the small size of the studio, I am rather pleased with the output they have and look forward to the new additions to the game coming up.    … Expand

    I´m now about half way through the campaign and played quite some PvP in Jagged Alliance Online.
    I was skeptical about the depth of the game and felt it might be dumbed down for a broader audience, but now I can say that this is definitely not the case. Managing my mercs, the equipment and my HQ well has become vital and getting the missions done with the gear I am willing to afford is    I´m now about half way through the campaign and played quite some PvP in Jagged Alliance Online.

    I hope matchmaking will be improved with this weeks patch as promised, because the part where I play against too powerful players in PvP is what kept me from giving this a 9. (And maybe audio which is not very spectacular)
    But overall I can say I´m having the best time with a turn based game since the new XCom.
    No idea what those haters are talking about, but I can hardly believe they played past the tutorial.
    Give it a try, you will reach the really interesting part within an hour. Maybe try PvP, but be prepared to get owned at the beginning. After that you can still play a few missions and only after that you can decide to continue with the free stuff (pvp and a few more missions) or get the campaign pack like I did.     As an avid JA2 fan I bought the Ivan package and I'm having good fun with it. Granted, it's not as deep as the old game, but the campaign is fun and there is a LOT (as in 30+ hours and counting) of content in the 25 bucks package, not to mention the insane number of guns you can collect.

    Why this is f2p I don't know seems more like a PvP demo (I don't really play PvP), but if you treat    As an avid JA2 fan I bought the Ivan package and I'm having good fun with it.     Don't know why everybody just rates a 0, have you ever played it?

    This game is a nice Free2Play PvP game.
    If you want to play it in Single-Player Mode (Missions and such), you have to pay one time, but for such a cheap price, that it was a no brainer for me.
    Espacially for the game time I got out of it.

    I like the game really much and would also recommend it to every friend (to whom I didn't do so far I already checked out this game months ago and lost attention because of suboptimal balancing and not enough attention from my side because I went on holiday. But now I came back and it is soo much better.     While it does not mirror the complexity of JA2, it has other advantages (such as accessibility) and I find myself returning to it regularly. IT actually has now held me for longer than many top scoring games.

    Quite a good game. Very enjoyable. Fairly priced on Steam given the content provided. If you want to play a nice turn based strategy game in kind of short (approx. 30-60 minutes) sessions this is the right game for you.
    Admittedly this game does not have the complexity of the new X-COM but it still is good game.
    If you do not want to pay up front you are free to play PvP for as long as    Quite a good game. Very enjoyable. Fairly priced on Steam given the content provided.     For my part I really like the game. As I am only playing it for the PvP part (and this part really is free 2 play) I am very happy with it.

    So 2 thumbs up from me

    I'm pretty new to the Jagged Alliance setting, but I do love what I see. The gameplay is easy enough to understand and learn, I love the comments the mercs make and the concept of how the contracts work. I am surprised about the community, as well. It's a very friendly and helpful one, ask anything in the chat and at least 3 people will answer you with help and advice if not a mod isI'm pretty new to the Jagged Alliance setting, but I do love what I see. I bought the campaign and am now in the mid-30 level area.     JA online is highly addictive and free to play! I strongly suggest buying the single player campaign which contains a lot of extra content.
