LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 22, 2024Approximately five hours of action-packed humour and style make it almost impossible to turn the game off with a clear conscience. The high-quality level design is accompanied only by a minimalistic soundtrack highlighting the horror elements, and the enemies bring the player to their knees not only with their satirical concept, but also with their corresponding difficulty. Jul 9, 2023HROT is another name to add to the ever-growing list of great boomer shooters, one that boasts some solid gameplay mechanics, a rich and satisfying level design, and a peculiar atmosphere that brings players in an alternative version of 1980s Czechoslovakia that is both fascinating and fully able to stand out from the usual locations that we see in these kind of games. Sure, the game can be a bit "janky" sometimes, but its heart is in the right place, and overall, it's a well-made and thoroughly fun experience that most FPS lovers are bound to enjoy.

Jun 2, 2023Hrot draws from Quake, Duke and Blood but does it half-heartedly and due to the setting resembles the forgotten You Are Empty more than the aforementioned classics. It holds its own in terms of level design, but you can feel it was developed by just one person.
