    Codename 47 was a classic game and really good for 2000. The rag-doll physics seemed perfect with the blend of a classic storyline and good features, including moderate graphics and a vast choice of weapons. All of this under one genre, stealth.
    It could have added a few more options like in-game saves, 2-3 more missions and create a more interactive environment.

    I thought Hitman: Codename 47 was a great entry point for the series defining what it is that Agent 47 does and how he came to be. Just like any game from 2000 there will be many flaws in A.I. and level designing. Most of the levels were small and only had one or two ways of completion but that is fine because with a saving system like this one it really would have been a nightmare to beatI thought Hitman: Codename 47 was a great entry point for the series defining what it is that Agent 47 does and how he came to be. If you are caught, killed and hit space to continue from a checkpoint the guards will still be on alert EVEN if you are loaded back in an area you are sure you were safe in; they WILL find you. That is one of my very few gripes with this game as it still delivers satisfying gameplay with a variety of fun hits.
    The story, in my opinion is the game's strength but it only picks up in the end quarter of the game and for me, it did not disappoint. Learning how 47 was created and by who was pretty awesome and I enjoyed watching it unfold. Most gamers overlook this rewarding game but I highly recommend they try it out if they are a big Hitman fan!    … Expand

    Good game and lots of fun. Keeps you hooked. Down side is lack of game save. When you have advanced a long way in the game (after 10 missions) each mission can last up to two hours at a time. When I took on the drug lord in the jungle I managed to kill him and virtually complete the level only for my PC to crash. This happened several times.     Definitely an original game that puts the player in the shoes of a hitman. At first the game has you killing Hong Kong Triad members and drug lords, but that all eventually leads to the awesome conclusion of your origin. Despite the lack of in game saves and A.I. problems, the atmosphere and tension in this game are second to none.

    I was expecting to see this one through to the end, but it turned out to be worse than I have imagined. There are some good things about the game such as the badass character Codename 47 which planted the seeds for a strong game franchise. The level designs were good as far as I have played, although I have read that in later missions they get abysmal. Ok, you play a silent assassin, so it just makes sense to be careful and try to beat episodes without calling any attention. But the original game unfortunately suffers from a horrible scripted game design. In order to beat a level first you need to do A and then B and then C... You cannot really use your own method to complete a mission. What makes this even worse is that there is no save function during the missions. So, you repeat every mission over and over until you find out what scripted A-B-C flow the game expects you to accomplish, then start over and do exactly the things that you are supposed to do. I am a rather patient person when it comes to finishing games but Hitman: Codename 47 does not really deserve such patience. Even if you are new into the series, just skip this one.… Expand

    HITMAN CODENAME 47 is a good game but it tends to become very boring and repetitive. The controls are very clunky and you can't run the game at a decent resolution without it crashing. Its a good game overall but its held back by some big flaws.

    This game was terrible. Stealth didn't work, gives little help what to do. There is almost no plot. Terrible graphics. Steam overlay didn't work and wouldn't let you minimize the game, unlike anything I've played before. There was also a problem with not being able to run for some reason.     The best Hitman ever made, as well as the probably best stealth game. I wonder if will be there another game like this one, but I'm sure it won't. Great, funny and competitive gameplay, there's a lack of story (although the final missions are epic, especially the last 2 ones), but this game doesn't need it, because it's already great.

    an OK game the graphics are a bit dated but it doesn't matter the sound and the gameplay is so fun it is a very hard game and yet there is no save game making it a really frustrating game but with good story it is not bad

You will be interested in exploration of the guard’s routes, the areas more appropriate for stealth. You will be frustrated of the huge enemy squad’s encounters. The shoot mechanic isn`t adapted to a shooting with a huge amount of enemies, but at several missions there aren`t another way to pass through.     Не играл в эту игру в своё время, но сейчас, решив наверстать упущенное, приступил к вкушению этого творения. Что ж, дропнул). Плохо сохранилась, сейчас в неё играть оч сложно. Деревянная во всех отношениях, никакой вариативности, а душит то как!
    Закончил играть после миссии в отеле, поэтому оцениваю КОНКРЕТНО ДО ЭТОГО МОМЕНТА.     Из плюсов могу отметить здоровскую графику для тех лет, замечательную музыку, сюжет, а так же то, что в игре прорывная технологичность для 2000ых, серьёзно, рэгдолл уж точно не ожидал увидеть.

    A classic game. It had a lot of novelity at its time. Nice graphic, good AI. It is probably not as good as the other hitman games but it layed off the basis of the franchise. Some maps and the lack of saving is annoying, but i liked the game overall.

    I just finished this game for the first and this is the first hitman i played. Maybe that was a bad choice but ok. The game is overall good. I love it when you can choose how to deal with an assassination. The graphics were at the time of the release good, the sound and music is very good, the gameplay is ok, the lack of a quick save makes the missions very hard, there were bugs that madeI just finished this game for the first and this is the first hitman i played. As for the bugs in the game> The game really has quite a lot of bugs that interfere with playing the game perfectly because sometimes it sees you through a wall or shoots out of nothing and can really annoy you. Difficulty of the game> In my opinion, it's really that difficult and challenging, but the game is made even more difficult by bugs and mechanics. Game Mechanics> Awkward and difficult quite because it is sometimes annoying. The sound of the game's characters> It's pretty cheap and funny at other moments too. The sound system of the game> Not bad or very impressive is as simple as what you wanted for games created for such years.

    In my opinion, the game is difficult just because of the bad mechanics and quite a few bugs that annoy you a lot, but getting used to the game may leave you with a favorite game in the Hitman series, but not in years like before. For this game by yourself chapter 6/10.    … Expand

    The first ever Hitman game I’ve played but that doesn’t make it an amazing game. The controls are messed the freak up, and the missions are way to hard to execute. I’m glad they have improved the controls and missions in the newer games.

    I would not hesitate to recommend it to other gamers, but with the caution that you should be prepared for a game that probably won't fit neatly into any mental box you might have prepared for it.
