By far the largest, most rife with opportunities map Io Interactive has presented in Hitman's current incarnation. Impressive, living crowds and high difficulty aiming at franchise veterans make this the strongest episode yet and a terrific indicator of things to come.

Not quite on par with Sapienza, Hitman's third episode is nonetheless a detailed, intricate playground for murder.

Marrakesh is a great episode, but it pales in comparison with the two previous ones, which feel much more dense. While it still gorgeous and full of life, certain areas feel a bit dull, just go-through areas with few to none opportunities.

Marrakesh can stand very proud next to Sapienza. While it doesn’t quite reach the same heights, it is a very accomplished mission, built into a magnificent sandbox.

Marrakesh is a much different beast, and while it lacks the nuanced complexity of Sapienza or the gaudy flash of Paris, it has a flavor all its own that highlights aspects of Hitman in challenging ways. Another solid entry in this series.

I like the fact that the difficulty level was ramped up a bit. But on the other hand the AI still leaves room for improvement, while the setting is not as appealing as Sapienza with its freedom and beauty.

Hitman’s latest episode has some impressive moments, but Marrakesh feels limited compared to the sprawling, interconnected layouts of Paris and Sapienza. It’s part of an increasingly great game and still provides some solid stealth action, but don’t be surprised if you’re not coming back to this one for more than a few tries.

  1. There is, perhaps, a slight sense that Marrakesh has been rushed – as well as the logic issues, that sense of revolutionary promise unfulfilled and unfortunate route-blocking I mentioned, I suffered from a ton of blurry textures – but it doesn’t feel seriously compromised. Not quite the equal of its noble forebear, no, but it’s the most visually impressive installment yet and, as a package, Hitman’s three episodes so far are already providing more game for the money than anything else recent I care to mention.

It's not as organic as Sapienza. It's like 2 small levels combined (school and embassy), and between them a big marketplace with a huge crowd, but little to do.

The location didn't appeal to me much. Dirty, noisy craphole of a city, I would never travel in real life. Unlike Paris and Sapienza, which were great just to explore and look at. Everyone in HITMAN talks perfect English with American accent, which is most distracting in this episode thus far. Immersion totally broken, when African guy in a tunika says to me "Cool threads, bro."

Still good game (with bad optimization) but hoping Thailand will reach closer to that Sapienza glory.
