Jan 5, 2016I am somehow still going back to this game here and there and still like it. IT pass test of the time and this is something valuable 9/10 than for value of game time.

DylanP.Oct 31, 2007This game sets the standard for MMOs. Although I do not agree with the subscriber plan, I do think that this game is phenomenal. Definitely worth getting, some say it's a Diablo 3. I have to disagree, it has similar features but it's not the same game at all. Furthermore, who cares if it is a Diablo 3? Diablo 1/2 were amazing.

NickJ.Nov 20, 2007This game is very entertaining. Though not as good as Diablo, this game manages to pry my attention from Half-Life 2, Neverwinter Nights 2 and BioShock for a while.

WoccaD.Dec 6, 2007GAme is addictive with amazing graphics and gear. The devs are patching any issues and adding content pretty regularly. The bugs are becoming lesss and less of an issue and the game is getting pretty damn good.

WilliamM.Oct 31, 2007Ignore the negativity. Try it yourself. If you like Action RPGs like Diablo and Sacred and Titan Quest, and you like FPS action games... you'll very likely enjoy the combination of the two in Hellgate. Well worth the time spent playing it.

MrNyklonOct 30, 2007I was in the beta and I can say that the game has the addictivness of Diablos loot whoring with a great engine and nice multiplayer functionality. The main issues i have heard revolve around the subscriber vs non-subscriber angle but after playing it for awhile in the beta I have already preordered it and I hope to get in on the founders offer.

JamesR.Nov 1, 2007The game is somewhat repetative but once you get into the higher level content it opens itself up to a lot of fun. The inventory management system is completly FUBAR though...if not for the tedium of dis-assembling objects I would give this title a 10.

YogS.Nov 5, 2007Diablo enthusiasts rejoice! Finally something to wile away the time. The true game begins after you advance, Nightmare difficulty is insane and the drops are INSANER! (yeah gfym) I love this game, I gaurantee you the naysayers never did a Mephisto run or a Ball run and therefore will never get this game, ever! A cult classic is born, thank you Flagship.

PC GamerIt doesn't redefine the action RPG, but in a genre laden with derivative games, Hellgate is a refreshing concoction that's likely to have enduring appeal. [Dec 2007, p.48]

You might get sucked into the online world of competing slayers and level grinding for a while, but the tedium will kill you far quicker than any member of Hell's vast.

Pelit (Finland)Hellgate: London takes the elements that made the Diablo series classic, and puts them in new, invigorating setting of demonic threat, dark magic and high technology. The fresh world of Hellgate: London is its greatest asset, but sadly the game fails in capitalizing it properly, with quite shoddy plot and generic missions outside the main story. Nevertheless, Hellgate: London is a good action RPG with plenty to enjoy. How the multiplayer system works when the game hits stores will ultimately determine the staying power of the game. [Nov 2007]
