    Over 2500 hours in still play most days. Great game lost's of depth from infantry, recon, tanking and command roles. Big maps. Generally a great community too, very friendly and helpful players mostly. Seems more of a mature audience than COD type games and game play is less run and gun and more tactical, which is great.     An exceptional teamwork-based shooter. Gritty and punishing, but incredibly fun and satisfying. Solo play is the antithesis of this title, so make sure you have a mic (and maybe some friends). An effectively-communicating squad is the most powerful weapon you can have. Get some pals, learn your voicechat keybinds, and prepare to lose track of time.

    I used to live and die playing this game. 2,070 hours played. Then they screwed up with crappy updates and bug infested stuff. Have stopped playing from 7+ hours a day to nil. Game has turned into wet dog **** Waiting for Resolve and the Fallujah game to drop. The original game no longer exists. Stick to COD, better graphics, minimal bugs and hiccups. Read the Reddit reviews, veryI used to live and die playing this game. 2,070 hours played. Then they screwed up with crappy updates and bug infested stuff.     I would have given a 8-9 before Update 14, but now things are very different with Team17 handling all development.

    I've played this game for 260 hours since I started playing it 3 months ago. I LOVED this game, it was a great middleground between simulator (e.g. ARMA) and arcade (e.g. Battlefield). While it wasn't super historically accurate, it's generally been credible enough, so    I would have given a 8-9 before Update 14, but now things are very different with Team17 handling all development.

    I've played this game for 260 hours since I started playing it 3 months ago. I LOVED this game, it was a great middleground between simulator (e.g. ARMA) and arcade (e.g. Battlefield).

    While it wasn't super historically accurate, it's generally been credible enough, so that maps, weapons, uniforms etc looked somewhat realistic and generally appropriate.

    Unfortunately, Team17 has taken over the development of the game from the original developer (Black Matter). Since then it's all been going downhill. They have recently pushed Update 14 which has sparked a lot of controversy for its low quality.

    Just to name a few things:

    - The 2 new maps released, Driel and El Alamein, have constant stuttering for most players

    - Hilariously, they even got the dates on the maps wrong on the loading screens - El Alamein 1944 and Driel 1942. It should be the other way around

    - The British infantry only has 1 uniform

    - Neither the Germans nor the British have desert uniforms, they just stroll around in heavy winter coats. It's also possible to choose winter camo in El Alamein

    - Not a single one of the few buildings in Driel can be entered. Lazy map design!

    - They increased infantry runspeed by 15% without even mentioning that in the patch notes. This has a huge effect on the game mechanics (garrison / op meta, ease of countering tanks, recon effectivness etc etc). It's also a lot harder to shoot players at a distance now. There is no stamina system or proper physics to make the movement credible at all

    - There's a very frequent bug about the panting sound produced when sprinting; it's no longer properly synchronized with the new run speed, so it starts clipping once you run for a little while (extremely easy to reproduce)

    - The new prone mechanic, while being smoother and better in some ways, allows for constant dolphin diving (like old battlefield games) without any stamina limitation

    - The British loadouts are outright ridiculous, for some wild reason they chose weapons that had seen little to no combat usage (P14, Lanchester, Jungle carbine) as standard loadouts when there were plenty of obvious choices (Thompsons, hello?)

    - None of the British infantry have hair (neither head nor facial) ... ???

    - Somehow, the new British tanks list the Firefly as a "Heavy" tank, while in reality it's just an upgunned regular Sherman

    - Panthers, Cromwells and Fireflies never set foot in North Africa, yet the game has all those tanks in El Alamein

    - The XP system is heavily bugged now; it's unclear whether it's intentional or not, but XP gain is reduced by 80 pct

    - They introduced a "bug" (or feature?) where you can no longer keep the map open while giving up or performing other actions

    - There has been NO PLAYTEST SERVER for this update, unlike the previous ones

    - They had the audacity to increase the game's price by 5 USD or GBP

    Bottom line - Team17 has pushed a very low quality update. They seem to not have tested it at all (or they did and deemed it "good enough"). It's an incredibly amateurish and demeaning attitude toward us players.

    My feeling is that the investors (at least 30% of the board members of T17 are big investment groups like Blackrock, Lloyds etc) have now decided to milk the game, turn it into a more arcade product and spam paid DLCs.

    I will stop playing this for the time being - I am happy to return if things improve, but given the current situation I have little hope that will ever happen.    … Expand

Soldiers run as fast as someone in a bad dream trying to escape a monster, all over entire counties of distance, just for your squad to sporadically move on to another random place without telling you and get shot in the back of the head by a camping loser. this game caters way excessively too much to campers to the point of completely having zero fun factor whatsoever. And then the map is just entirely too cluttered and busy with outlines of other useless information. It's like staring at Nikko Avocado's heart EKG readings with so many lines. The maps are all the same feeling wise. They don't even have the British, the Italians, or the Pacific theater. How is this supposed to be WWII? How sad does a game need to be in order to make even battlefield look comparable? Total waste of my money. Did not care for it. All the youtubers and video clips of this game are 100% edited false advertising. There is never nearly that much fighting going on ever. This is just as bad as war of rights is.… Expand

    Fantastic WW2 FPS. Realistic game play and intense combat, the realism puts you right in the moment. Squad tactics and communication a key part of the game, and patience required at times. Worth a play for fans of more realistic shooters.

    As a WWII shooter, I really recommend it. While it isn't casual like CoD, it is definitely more geared towards to map conquest like Battlefield. It isn't ultra realistic, but it is still very brutal with very low TTK and lack of health generation (you don't even see a health bar). You will definitely need to watch guides as there isn't a tutorial, but that just adds to the experience sinceAs a WWII shooter, I really recommend it. While it isn't casual like CoD, it is definitely more geared towards to map conquest like Battlefield. There are Infantry, Armor and Recon divisions and each division contains limited number of different roles available in the game and each role has its own unique characteristics and meaning in the game.     This is the game I've been waiting for all my life. Incredibly addictive. It is very difficult to learn. One dies many times. But if you find its magic. You won't be disappointed. Very important and fundamental to have a microphone and talk to your teammates. If you play alone. It will bore you and disenchant you.

    I come from Battlefield. This game is my comfort after the disappointing battlefield 2042. This game is so good and the developers put so much effort into graphics details and game mechanics.

    Very immersive FPS game: it's a mix between arcade and simulative gameplay. You can't stay alive on your own for too much time, so you need to cooperate with other players.

    Looking beyond some technical issues and the fact that it's kind of wonky from time to time, I think the one thing that annoys me the most is the lack of proper player feedback. You won't know if you hit something or not unless you spend a lot of time playing the game (and it's honestly one of the most unfriendly game I've experienced for newcomers), and I get that they're going for realism and all that but the game would be so much better if they could just skip that part.

    at first it is generally difficult to understand anything. not everyone has the patience to figure things out on their own. In 20 hours of playing, I have never been able to try the mechanics of playing as a sniper. I did not understand how to use artillery either. and if during a battle you try to figure it out, then with a probability of 90% you will be killed by your own

    The game is pretty much amazing, i am not fun of such games but this is just great experience, you have to try it for yourself. First few hours can be hard, you won't know what to do but as more and more hours you will play you will enjoy every single hour of it, can recommend it 100%.

    Very disappointed with this game. Millions of bugs: you are covered behind tree, fence etc. you shoot exactly at enemy but all the bullets will hit the tree. DESYNC! We have dozens of videos where we shot the enemy but he didn't die, because of desync. Bullet just missed him and in the end it is you who die. This happens all the time! The concept of this game is bad from its basics. TheVery disappointed with this game. Millions of bugs: you are covered behind tree, fence etc. you shoot exactly at enemy but all the bullets will hit the tree. DESYNC! We have dozens of videos where we shot the enemy but he didn't die, because of desync. Bullet just missed him and in the end it is you who die. This happens all the time! The concept of this game is bad from its basics. The point of this game is literally finding and destroying enemy's garrisons. I haven't realized the ww2 was waged like this. And what is realistic about this? Garand will kill by 1 shot, but M14 takes 2 shots? Why is the carbine unlocked at higher levels then, if it is worse weapon? :D Also tons of toxic players who will teamkill you, bcs you took sniper rifle or shot him with arty by accident. Mostly no communications at all from other players in your sq. Very poor optimliazition, shuttering and FPS drops are usual. This game is NO FUN and I do regret buying it, instead of PS… Expand

But if you join up with a squad and communicate and co-ordinate your attacks and your defence, there are many hours of action, fun, frustration and joy ahead of you. Graphics look wonderful.     I've played this game since Alpha, and although I was sold on the aesthetics and what the developers were trying to achieve with the kickstarter, the alpha and beta were pretty rough due to bugs and lack of polish.
    However, since HLL has gone into Early Acces this game has become amazingly super awesome! This is some of the truest WWII gameplay you'll ever get on PC. Love the gameplay and    I've played this game since Alpha, and although I was sold on the aesthetics and what the developers were trying to achieve with the kickstarter, the alpha and beta were pretty rough due to bugs and lack of polish.
    However, since HLL has gone into Early Acces this game has become amazingly super awesome! This is some of the truest WWII gameplay you'll ever get on PC. Love the gameplay and the people playing it. I always encounter nice people trying to actually play the game and it is very rare to find somebody being toxic, even though the voice chat offers plenty of opportunity to do just that. I'm totally sold on this game!

    Edit 17/07/20: The Carentan update has really reinvigorated this game for me! This game looks nearly photorealistic at times and the maps that were added the past couple of patches are really good. This game keeps getting better!

    Edit 21/11/21: This game absolutely kicks ass now, with only more goodness like the British and Japanese to come, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't play this game if you're into WWII and looking for a more mature Battlefield experience. 10/10 Can't imagine I need any other WWII game ever anymore.    … Expand

    The dislikes is from CoD players. If you want an realistic ww2 experience, this is the game.

    Hell Let Loose stands somewhere in the middle between truly authentic WWII shooters and their more casual-leaning counterparts. It’s not without faults, but the team behind it works tirelessly to expunge them all.
