    I used to live and die playing this game. 2,070 hours played. Then they screwed up with crappy updates and bug infested stuff. Have stopped playing from 7+ hours a day to nil. Game has turned into wet dog **** Waiting for Resolve and the Fallujah game to drop. The original game no longer exists. Stick to COD, better graphics, minimal bugs and hiccups. Read the Reddit reviews, veryI used to live and die playing this game. 2,070 hours played. Then they screwed up with crappy updates and bug infested stuff.     I've played this game for 260 hours since I started playing it 3 months ago. I LOVED this game, it was a great middleground between simulator (e.g. ARMA) and arcade (e.g. Battlefield). While it wasn't super historically accurate, it's generally been credible enough, so    I would have given a 8-9 before Update 14, but now things are very different with Team17 handling all development.

    I've played this game for 260 hours since I started playing it 3 months ago. I LOVED this game, it was a great middleground between simulator (e.g. ARMA) and arcade (e.g. Battlefield).

    While it wasn't super historically accurate, it's generally been credible enough, so that maps, weapons, uniforms etc looked somewhat realistic and generally appropriate.

    Unfortunately, Team17 has taken over the development of the game from the original developer (Black Matter). Since then it's all been going downhill. They have recently pushed Update 14 which has sparked a lot of controversy for its low quality.

    Just to name a few things:

    - The 2 new maps released, Driel and El Alamein, have constant stuttering for most players

    - Hilariously, they even got the dates on the maps wrong on the loading screens - El Alamein 1944 and Driel 1942. It should be the other way around

    - The British infantry only has 1 uniform

    - Neither the Germans nor the British have desert uniforms, they just stroll around in heavy winter coats. It's also possible to choose winter camo in El Alamein

    - Not a single one of the few buildings in Driel can be entered. Lazy map design!

    - They increased infantry runspeed by 15% without even mentioning that in the patch notes. This has a huge effect on the game mechanics (garrison / op meta, ease of countering tanks, recon effectivness etc etc). It's also a lot harder to shoot players at a distance now. There is no stamina system or proper physics to make the movement credible at all

    - There's a very frequent bug about the panting sound produced when sprinting; it's no longer properly synchronized with the new run speed, so it starts clipping once you run for a little while (extremely easy to reproduce)

    - The new prone mechanic, while being smoother and better in some ways, allows for constant dolphin diving (like old battlefield games) without any stamina limitation

    - The British loadouts are outright ridiculous, for some wild reason they chose weapons that had seen little to no combat usage (P14, Lanchester, Jungle carbine) as standard loadouts when there were plenty of obvious choices (Thompsons, hello?)

    - None of the British infantry have hair (neither head nor facial) ... ???

    - Somehow, the new British tanks list the Firefly as a "Heavy" tank, while in reality it's just an upgunned regular Sherman

    - Panthers, Cromwells and Fireflies never set foot in North Africa, yet the game has all those tanks in El Alamein

    - The XP system is heavily bugged now; it's unclear whether it's intentional or not, but XP gain is reduced by 80 pct

    - They introduced a "bug" (or feature?) where you can no longer keep the map open while giving up or performing other actions

    - There has been NO PLAYTEST SERVER for this update, unlike the previous ones

    - They had the audacity to increase the game's price by 5 USD or GBP

    Bottom line - Team17 has pushed a very low quality update. They seem to not have tested it at all (or they did and deemed it "good enough"). It's an incredibly amateurish and demeaning attitude toward us players.

    My feeling is that the investors (at least 30% of the board members of T17 are big investment groups like Blackrock, Lloyds etc) have now decided to milk the game, turn it into a more arcade product and spam paid DLCs.

    I will stop playing this for the time being - I am happy to return if things improve, but given the current situation I have little hope that will ever happen.    … Expand

Soldiers run as fast as someone in a bad dream trying to escape a monster, all over entire counties of distance, just for your squad to sporadically move on to another random place without telling you and get shot in the back of the head by a camping loser. this game caters way excessively too much to campers to the point of completely having zero fun factor whatsoever. The overview map in game is confusing, poorly marked with important information such as where your squad is or where the spawns are. And then the map is just entirely too cluttered and busy with outlines of other useless information. It's like staring at Nikko Avocado's heart EKG readings with so many lines. The maps are all the same feeling wise. They don't even have the British, the Italians, or the Pacific theater. How is this supposed to be WWII? How sad does a game need to be in order to make even battlefield look comparable? Total waste of my money. Did not care for it. All the youtubers and video clips of this game are 100% edited false advertising. There is never nearly that much fighting going on ever. This is just as bad as war of rights is.… Expand

    - Game generally feels extremely unfinished and broken. Basic FPS features like vaulting and bipod deployment are glitchy

Unfortunately, they wanted to sell this to the xbox crowd, and so the result is that you have a bunch of noobs running around like headless chickens like it was Call of Duty, and of course not using a mike.

    Very disappointed with this game. Millions of bugs: you are covered behind tree, fence etc. you shoot exactly at enemy but all the bullets will hit the tree. DESYNC! We have dozens of videos where we shot the enemy but he didn't die, because of desync. Bullet just missed him and in the end it is you who die. This happens all the time! The concept of this game is bad from its basics. TheVery disappointed with this game. Why is the carbine unlocked at higher levels then, if it is worse weapon? :D Also tons of toxic players who will teamkill you, bcs you took sniper rifle or shot him with arty by accident. Mostly no communications at all from other players in your sq. Very poor optimliazition, shuttering and FPS drops are usual. This game is NO FUN and I do regret buying it, instead of PS… Expand

    The game is straight up broken, then ontop of that you have cheaters, campers and team mates that constantly shoot you. This game is not fun and should not be played by anyone.

    Game sux, takes forever to get to a fight just to get shot by a team mate. I've not manage to finish a whole match yet before the servers crash. Its awful. Worse than awful its broken.

    The game certainly isn't for everyone. It's a sim, you may go 15 mins without firing a single shot. 0 out of 10 also bugs, constant getting kicked from servers and the amount of players that kill their own team mates I wouldn't reccomend it to my worst enemy.

    I bought this game the day after it came to early access in 2019 and have logged almost 1400 hours to date. I used to love this game for it's hardcore realism and unforgiving combat. In the last few updates, it has taken a noticeable turn away from realism and the focus now seems to be on profit only. The game runs like hot garbage, and has for 2 years. Instead of optimizing it, theI bought this game the day after it came to early access in 2019 and have logged almost 1400 hours to date. I used to love this game for it's hardcore realism and unforgiving combat. In the last few updates, it has taken a noticeable turn away from realism and the focus now seems to be on profit only. The game runs like hot garbage, and has for 2 years. Instead of optimizing it, the developers just release new content and now paid DLC's. All of the weapons and classes have been nerfed so that combat just feels weak and unfulfilling now. HLL is coming out on consoles sometime in the near future and it is painfully obvious that the kickstarters and everyone who helped build the community are being pushed aside so the devs can market toward the console crowd, and they never even came through on the promises they made early on. Black Matter are sellouts. They used to listen to the community, but now they only see $$ and don't give a damn about anything else. If you like games that get progressively less demanding and continually invite younger and dumber players who have zero intentions of working together but have momma's money, then HLL is for you. Some matches are fun, most are frustrating, clunky, unorganized and unfulfilling.… Expand

    I am here since ALpha state of this game.

    The most dissapointing on release day is that, I still experience shuttering of my character when moving when I can stop it only by stopping my character and then I can move normaly. This bug since Alpha is still not fixed, and only shows how developers approach this game core problems.     The developers rushed some good looking stuff like USSR and some new weapons and tanks, but they NEVER fixed core issues of the game like movement, animations, explosions, even VOICE COMMUCATIONS is broken.

    For example valuting from trenches or over fences is buggy, not working time to time.
    Penetration is random and you can shoot trought one fence but over 100meters is same fence which is has not working penetration.

    Tank armour is utter unrealistic ♥♥♥♥ which is a joke. They promised unlock whole map with transport vehicles but the map is locked and maps are not even finished in locked areas.

    Worst think about this they still brag how they listen to community, but when somebody has some feedback, they ignore it and if you constantly deliver some, they recommend you to play another game. RIP SAM_15_SVK.

    Game is full of promises, lack optimalisation and it does not even look closely good in-game as it looks in trailers.
    Objects which are far than 100-150meters looks like game from 2000, because of poor optimalisation they need to compensate it like this and even with RTX 3090 you have maximum around 40-60FPS. With bombing run under 20FPS.

    What was promised on release and still is not in game:
    Free look with new animations
    Half track and jeeps released with trucks
    Unlock whole map after transport vehicles
    Mortars
    Attaching AT Canons to trucks
    Panzefaust
    Draging wounded with medic
    Realistic tank penetration
    Fixing basic gameplay with asymetric balance not giving everybody automatic guns.    … Expand

Battle of Stalingrad includes all: g43,stg44,ppsh,mg42, panther and tiger tank. None of which existed in early war 1942 eastern front, and does notDOA. Worst development of any game, on par with Dayz. Team17 (publisher and developer)(makes those 2d arcade worms games by the way) does not care about history or it's $220k kickstarter who supported a historically realistic ww2 experience. Battle of Stalingrad includes all: g43,stg44,ppsh,mg42, panther and tiger tank. None of which existed in early war 1942 eastern front, and does not follow reality/history. So now it's an arcade shooter and the originally target player base is driven away by console casuals as the devs shift their focus on releasing a console port. Who announces a console port during early access? When the base game is painfully neglected, they create microtransactions for skins and shiny spawns. They don't fix their own game and they just mask new content to grab the next fish when so many have dried out. 1 million copies sold and 3k average playerbase says it all.… Expand

    Hell Let Loose stands somewhere in the middle between truly authentic WWII shooters and their more casual-leaning counterparts. It’s not without faults, but the team behind it works tirelessly to expunge them all.
