Jul 16, 2019Even ten years after its premiere, this interactive thriller from David Cage is still great. Sometimes you can sense the age when it comes to visuals, but if you haven’t played this yet, you are in for a treat.
-
Jul 19, 2019It is an incredibly jarring, emotionally gutting game with beautiful music that sinks its teeth into you and refuses to let go until it reels back with a piece of your heart.
-
Jul 11, 2019Solid port, but there are some problems with the controls.
-
Jul 3, 2019More could have been done to make Heavy Rain a bit more palatable for modern audiences, but the fact is that it’s still a great story-driven game despite its myriad of issues.
-
Apr 30, 2020Heavy Rain is still a good game with an interesting story, despite the fact that It was originally released 10 years ago. The PC version is a solid port, with the exception of the keyboard - mouse controls which have some problems. Nevertheless, it’s a great opportunity for PC gamers to experience it for the first time.
-
Jun 28, 2019Heavy Rain is perfect game, PC port looks good and works smoothly.
-
Jun 29, 2019Heavy Rain was quite the unique release in 2010 and is still worth a look for genre fans. This PC re-release improves a lot of things about that original experience, but doesn't go as far as it could in some respects.
-
Jun 27, 2019Of course, it’s a good thing that Heavy Rain is now available on PC. Many people will be able to play it for the first time and the game is still very beautiful, visuals-wise. But the mouse/keyboard controls are sluggish.
-
Jun 27, 2019Despite having some awkward control quirks while playing with a mouse and keyboard, the PC version of Heavy Rain is just as solid as the PlayStation 4 re-release. Both versions look superior to the PS3 original, but still have a few issues that make none of them the definitive way to play David Cage’s best title. The important distinction here is that this is now playable outside of the PlayStation ecosystem for the first time ever, so it’s being introduced to a new audience. For them, it’s a totally serviceable way to track down the Origami, Origammy, and Origarmy Killer.
-
Jul 1, 2019Heavy Rain is poorly written and not as smart as it thinks it is, but has a genuine sense of choice and consequence.
-
Jul 8, 2019Nine years later, Heavy Rain’s flaws have only become more pronounced. Even so, strong narrative design can’t be denied, and it’s just enough to ease the pain caused by the game’s more outrageous blunders.

Jul 3, 2019For me, I think it was easier to be forgiving of flaws when I was so excited by the newness of what it was trying to do. If you’re keen to try a Quantic Dream game, I’d say Heavy Rain is still the one most worthy of playing, if you can excuse some of the over-the-top elements of the story. And if nothing else, it will be a nice reminder of how far story-driven games have come.
