A beautiful but flawed game, with easy controls and imaginative design marred by a surplus of platform hopping puzzles and a disappointing finale. It's also rather short.
-
Daily RadarThe puzzles are utterly simple, the gameplay is too linear, and we finished it in about 10 hours.
-
CheckOutSome good, some bad and no ugly, "FAKK2" is fun in parts and frustrating in others, and ultimately disappoints only because it could have been great -- more creative level design, more missions and a few weeks of bug testing could have made this a winner.
-
"Heavy Metal" magazine is known, well known in fact, for way-over-the-top action, violence, and gore... There is none of that here.
-
There certainly is potential in the game, but too many things about the game make it feel unfinished: the lack of distinct monsters, the degeneration of the level design as the game progressed, and the small amount of gameplay in the box.
-
These technical problems, in addition to its short length and inconsistent quality, make Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 the most frustrating kind of game: It's only decent, when it could have been great.

Jan 22, 2021Definitely good title. Game may be old, but still good to play. Big point for Julie Strain as game character.
