It would be nice if there was more content (and you have to be okay with a little straying from the source material), but as it stands, the game is a chaotic – if all-too-brief – good time.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions feels a bit light on content, but the translation of a nonsense literary sport into a playable game has been handled nicely. There are a lot of nice unlockables included in the base game with no microtransactions, and those that feel confident enough will enjoy the online play. For those looking for a deep single player experience, though, there is not a ton here. Still, Quidditch Champions is fun in short bursts, and it will be interesting to see how it develops over time.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions from developer Unbroken Studios finally brings a decent version of Quidditch to the video gaming world. While the controls are going to certainly frustrate some, especially when mixed with the chaotic Quidditch gameplay, the game does a decent job of bringing some good modes and reasons to keep playing. This is very much a vanilla beginning and hopefully, that can be improved in the coming months.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is niche in the fact that Harry Potter fans, specifically those with fond memories of 2003’s Quidditch World Cup, will adore it. It knows exactly who its audience is, and makes sure to serve up Harry Potter references and nostalgia berries on a silver platter. The gameplay foundation is solid, but there just isn’t much done on top of it. The available modes grow generic and the lack of variety or unique challenge caused me to put the broom down and walk away much faster than I was expecting.

Ultimately, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is fine. It doesn't take too long to get used to the controls, and the gameplay loop stays interesting as long as you aren't playing the Chaser role. The matches are fun and perfect for short sessions, and the presence of cross-play means that finding a match isn't going to be too difficult once you exhaust the offline content. There are still some rough patches, but with its low $30 price tag, it's enjoyable for those who want to play some Quidditch without digging up a console from three generations ago.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is not for those looking for fine technicalities, both in graphics and gameplay. It is a decent pastime for the early hours that hides the potential to create its own fan base, but to allow it to do so, more content is needed and a review of the multiplayer section starting with the integration of effective 6VS6 PVP, to allow the most competitive to challenge each other without bots in the way.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is a decent simulator of the most famous sport in the Wizarding World. It lacks content and modes capable of providing long-term entertainment, but the various Quidditch roles are well represented, and the game doesn't fall short from a graphical perspective. However, the specific nature of the sport makes it a video game designed for and recommended only to true fans.

Solid Quidditch entertainment for Harry Potter fans, which lacks in terms of variety and depth in the long run.

If you're a big fan of Harry Potter and Quidditch, you'll definitely have some fun with Quidditch Champions. The game has huge potential, but I fear that it may be a multiplayer that doesn't last long. All in all, it's worth trying while it's free for PlayStation Plus members, but maybe not if you need to pay full price.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions gives you the chance to play the wizarding sport that was missing in Hogwarts Legacy. There are fun characters to unlock, plenty of fun cosmetics, and iconic locations from the books to play in. Aspects of the game have been altered to make it more multiplayer friendly than in the books. However, the game feels very imbalanced when it comes to online matchmaking and even responsibilities within a team. It needs some considerable tweaking but can still be fun for big Harry Potter fans.

When you’re flying around the pitch, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions can be a blast. Each position has a lot of depth to it, whether you’re harassing the other team’s Seeker as a Beater, drifting to keep up with the Snitch as a Seeker, faking out a Keeper to score as a Chaser, or making the perfect save yourself. Quidditch Champions makes smart rule changes to make this fantasy sport more fun while capturing the look and feel of the Wizarding World. There just isn’t much here off the pitch to keep you playing long-term, and co-op progression issues mean you can’t easily take on its career mode tournaments or grow your collection of unlockables with friends. Quidditch Champions did the near-impossible by turning quidditch into an actual competitive game, but I just wish there was a little more bristle on the end of this broom.

Quidditch Champions feels like an incomplete game that should’ve been part of something larger, and maybe that’s because Quidditch is the one key feature Hogwarts Legacy is missing. The latter can stand on its own without it, but I’m unsure whether Quidditch Champions can, too.

Quidditch Champions isn't a game I'll sink a few hundred hours into like Rocket League, but I won't ditch it after publishing a review either. Harry Potter fans don't have to think twice about it - after all, we got a game successfully tackling Quidditch, so in their case it's worth it. Muggles can have fun here if they like unusual sports games, have a tolerance for shortcomings and are willing to play online. Content is scarce for now, but if this is just the beginning, something truly magical could be born from this game.

We would have imagined it more as free-to-play, this Quidditch Champions. Rather faithful to the universe in terms of artistic direction, the game at least has the merit of correctly rethinking the rules of the broom sport to make them much fairer on the screen. On the other hand, the positions are cruelly unequal, the matches frankly chaotic and the game runs out of steam after just a few hours. Unbroken Studios still needs to make many adjustments to make its experience a must-have for Quidditch.
  15. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions seemed to fit the theme of the universe, but it had a rough entry into the gaming world with poor gameplay and bugs.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions’ simplistic gameplay and barebones content are fun for a couple of hours, but provide little more depth than it likely would have as a minigame in Hogwarts Legacy.
