    I heard about the mixed reviews but thought they were just trolling. Well the sad thing is they were trolling, the positive reviews! :( The game is every bit as bad as the naysayers say and any positive reviews are just by people for this RPGCodex site where they have a cult following for the insane developer for this game. Don't get fooled!

    Lol, looks and plays like something your granmother would. 40 bucks for a pos like this. just kek! Graphics are bad, sound is just loops. Combat is slow a.. clicking.

    Game is terrible. Looks and moves like an ancient game from the 80's but without the charm and style. Crashes everywhere, missing features and bugs galore. Barely playable and unbelievably slow combat. 40 dollars for this , that uses stolen assets in sound and code is disgusting. Dev is also a crazed, racist misogynist with the biggest ego in the world.     I love Wizardry 7. I think it is one of the best designed RPG of all times. I have played and finished five times so I can compare it with Grimoire, that is almost a clone of that RPG gem, very fairly.

    In a few words: Grimoire is just broken and unfinished. Grimoire looks very similar to Wizardry in almost every aspect, the appearance, the gameplay, the GUI, the atmosphere... It    I love Wizardry 7. I think it is one of the best designed RPG of all times.     Grimoire looks very similar to Wizardry in almost every aspect, the appearance, the gameplay, the GUI, the atmosphere... It really catches that old-school feeling but, it just that, appearance...
    The most important part of a good RPG is the design, the code that is is behind the scenes. And I'am sorry to say, that Grimoire fails. Wizardry 7 is a game very well balanced, the mechanisms work very well from the beginning of the game to the end. And that is something super hard to do, even new RPGs of AAA quality fails in that aspect, or just have an over simplified systems. There is no new RPG as deep as Wizardry 7 at all, and Grimoire even trying to copy their gameplay during 20 years and finally it is just a broken mess:

    The levelling system is broken, the combat is broken, the looting is broken, the encounters is just a joke. After playing it for 80 hours the disappointment is so huge that I needed to start a new Wizardry 7 game.

    Just play the old classics like Wizardry or Might and Magic, or modern RPGs well designed like Lords of Xulima, Legend of Grimrock or Underrail.    … Expand

    Stay away from this overpriced, overhyped, clunky, ugly-as-hell, bug-ridden 20-years-in-the-making abortion of a videogame.
    A waste of bytes, time, and money.

    Interesting concept but terrible execution at a ridiculous price. Game is ugly, with the worst sound ever, which is on a 2 second loop it seems. What is more is that much of the sound assets are stolen from other sources and uncredited like the Monty Python run away sound. Buggy and slow combat with a barely usable UI that makes doing the simplest task a chore. Avoid!

    Had to register here to warn people about this 'game'. It's a buggy mess that will devour your saves after every so-called patch that just introduces more problems! Avoid buying for now and at this price! The positive ratings here and on steam are mostly either by Cleve and his family with fake accounts or troll ratings from the RPG Codex website which has a cult following of this racist and unhinged developer who is fond of deleting and blocking any user on Steam from his forums if they have genuine criticism of the game. Shoddy practice that doesn't deserve your money!… Expand

    The game itself is not good, way shorter than marketed, and the audio is terrible. The UI is clumsy, the monsters are boring. After a bit, you will keep using the same attack configuration over and over again. And every time a patch comes out, your saves get corrupt.     When a game scores all 10s, or all 0s, you know something is up :) Fanboys gunna be fanboys, haters gunna hate. It isn't a 10, that's for sure, and it certainly isn't a 0. Its real score is hard to measure. It has many good points, some excellent points, and a whole bag of bad to outright horrific ones. Grimoire tries to bring back those 80s and 90s times, but fails, due to a kiunky broken interface, partly or totally non-functioning aspects, a total lack of balance, and a myriad of other very obvious failures. I'd love to give it a good score, but I can't. I have a lot of Grimoire steam time, but I just stopped playing. I can't takes no more of this broken mess. :(… Expand

    This is a very bad game. Looks so amateurish and is very slow and buggy. I know old people like these games but its a bad game and looks bad even for 1970.

    Played it for 16 hours now, and the further you play, the worse it gets. I had wanted to give it a chance as the idea was great, but it looks like I wasted my money. Game is unbearably slow and clunky, reminiscent of first time amateur efforts in gamemaker or RPG maker. The UI is horrible and makes everything a chore. There are no hotkeys! Graphics are below par even for 30 years ago and aPlayed it for 16 hours now, and the further you play, the worse it gets. I had wanted to give it a chance as the idea was great, but it looks like I wasted my money. Game is unbearably slow and clunky, reminiscent of first time amateur efforts in gamemaker or RPG maker. The UI is horrible and makes everything a chore. There are no hotkeys! Graphics are below par even for 30 years ago and a drab and lacking in quality animation and charm. Sound is a grating loop of random sounds. Worth maybe 5 dollars when the dev patches out the bugs and maybe adds hotkeys and tries to salvage something, but at this price stay way away!… Expand

    Rubbish game. Week on, patches just break other things and overwrite saves. Others have written what is with the game so all I'm adding is that it's just as bad now as it was then. Keep your money in your wallet until if and when this game is stable and fixed which given the developer, could take 20 more years. PS.
