    Great game.
    Graphics: Best for 2008(excluding crysis)
    Storyline: Introduces choices for users. Eventhough the choices are limited it is the first GTA game to do that. Game physics: Pretty realistic. Even the recent GTA V is no match to this in terms of game physics. It has proper torque for car doors(shooting bullets at a different distance will give different results unlike GTA V)    Great game.

    Самая прорывная часть серии. В игре потрясающая физика вождения, симуляция мира тоже восхитительная, сюжет - самый серьезный в серии, и Нико , он - шикарен. Великая игра, которую (имхо) незаслуженно хейтят.

    After the revolutionary trio, the excellent Vice City and the almost perfect San Andreas, the fall came in the form of the fourth part. GTA IV is not bad, but lags behind previous games. I would start by saying that the game runs through Games For Windows LIVE. Although I got it, another problem came right away and that was optimization. OK. It's a fact that my PC at the time was not among the elite of the PC Master Race, but I still expected a smoother game. In the end, I had to settle for low detail and 20FPS. Well, somehow I survived. I really wanted to play the game. I'm a fan of the GTA series and I fell in love with San Andreas. So I had to play the fourth part at all costs, but it just didn't work out very well. What I was looking forward to was multiplayer. I could already imagine shooting with a friend around the city. He is horrible here because of the already mentioned platform, because Games For Windows LIVE gave me a nickname in advance and it was just really bothered with it, but I still managed to join a friend in the final, but after a while it starts to be totally nothing if you are free in the city and do not complete missions. Golden SAMP, where there was always something to do. OK. I've mentioned enough of my disappointment here. Unfortunately, this is not the end of it. While the previous parts were still adding something, for some reason GTA IV is taking away. I don't know if the Rockstar Games didn't have enough time or just decided not to put things into play that we could happily do in San Andreas. We are talking about diving, for example. Maybe stupid for someone, but I personally enjoyed diving a lot in San Andreas and here it could have been many times better thanks to the new engine on which the game runs. Also, we can no longer change our body based on what we eat or strengthen. I understand that not everyone has been a fan of our character changing according to how we behave, but what I don't understand anymore is that we don't have the opportunity to fly a plane here. Damn why? Since the airport is here, I was looking forward to flying over the Liberty City plane, which I will get to. But I'm at the plane, I press the enter button and nothing. Unfortunately, the error was not on my side, but on the side of the developers. In short, you can't fly here by plane. What totally stopped me was the control. The developers here probably tried for realism, which I would say they would succeed, but GTA is not a simulator for me, but a real violent game where you kill everyone around and do what you want. You can't do a lot of things here because of this more real physics, such as the stunts that were born in San Andreas and were buried here and were subsequently revived in GTA V. So now maybe off with a hat and now for the good. I've already bitten the new engine and city. The game looks really good compared to previous parts and has definitely shifted graphically. Liberty City is so dark and maybe someone could say dead, and I believe it won't suit people. But in my eyes, the city had a kind of charm and overall it contributes to the darkness. In comparison, the previous works were quite "cheerful". Really don't forget those quotes. I mean the overall atmosphere. GTA IV is simply darker. Whether it's the city or the soundtrack. GTA IV Theme, please, in my opinion, is one of the best game soundtracks. If the Rockstar Games did anything here, it's the dark atmosphere that the game has. This is also helped by the main protagonist Niko Bellic, who came here to live the American dream and he gradually finds out that it is completely or according to his plans. Overall, the story is, in my opinion, perhaps the best in the series. The missions may not surpass San Andreas or Vice City, but the plot is perhaps the best GTA. The mission simply looks more realistic, for example by being able to cover the corners. At least for some reason, the realism here was good. What's next crack new is the cell phone. Someone has called us here and there before, but this time you have the option to pull out your mobile phone when you want to, and for example call your cousin Roman if you don't want to go to a bowling alley. Yeah. Bowling. At least they added something here and didn't take it away. In the finale and after all, after all, when I just thought they couldn't even do this, Rockstar Games is a good game. It's all about the story. But you have to accept that this is simply not the GTA that we are used to. Unfortunately, all this knocks the game and underlines this to the fullest GFWL for PC versions. Aslında taa ana oyunda bile sıkılmaya başlamıştım. 2 dakikalık görev için 10 dakika boyunca şehrin bir ucundan diğer ucuna araba sürüp durmanın keyifli bir yanı yok.     Küçükken gta'yı çok severdim. Bir yaz boyunca Vice City'de suç yapıp polisi peşime takarak şehri tavaf ettim. Ama hem geçen yılki gta 5 ve şimdiki 4 deneyimim bana keyif vermedi. Ana hikayeler fena değil ama yukarıda bahsettiğim araba sürme simülasyonu durumu canımı sıkıyor. Zaten gta tam olarak görevden göreve koşularak oynanacak bir oyun değil. Açık dünyada gezersin, bir şeyler yaparsın, arada göreve gidersin. Küçükken ben de öyle oynuyordum ama hayatımın şu döneminde, işin gücün arasında, gta'yı keyfe keder oynayacak vaktim yok.

    Neyse gta 4 ile gta serisini (ilk 2 oyunu saymazsak) tamamlamış oldum. Bence serinin kendini en ciddiye alan, en ayakları yere sağlam basan oyunu. Ama o gri görüntüsü ve basık atmosferi insanı bunaltıyor. Ana karakterimiz ve aksanını sevdim. oyunun fiziği, üzerinden neredeyse 15 yıl geçmesine rağmen hala taş gibi. Grafikler, özellikle suratlar epey eskimiş tabii. Bunlar dışında klasik gta işte, ne diyeyim.    … Expand

    The best game from gta universum. The best story and variety of exercise when you end a story mode. Two super dlc's with the best character's. Luis, Niko and Johnny are very well writing by rockstar plus innowation aiming system makes the best gta game.

    Everyone says that it has the best plot in the GTA franchise... but i don't think so. The story is a bit bland, and IMHO does not achieve what it seeks or make you care for any character. But hey, it's a GTA and that means quality. And an impressive city and amount of side content.

    There is a mod called 'Definitive Edition'. I recommend you to play the game with this mod. It largely solves the optimization problems it has. Game is absolutely awesome.

    GTA IV is the second GTA game I’ve played, The first being the latest game, GTA V. I loved that game. It was a ton of fun and I still play it a lot to this day. And GTA IV is pretty close to matching it. The story is very good. It is a lot darker than 5, but the missions (except for the last one) are a lot of fun. It is a little easy to get confused due to the massive amount of characters, however. Sometimes, you are asked to kill someone, and their death will have consequences and it’s hard to remember exactly who they are because there are a lot of missions like that in this game. A quick google search or mission walkthrough thankfully solves that issue. My favorite part of the game was all of the characters. They are all memorable, and I really enjoyed Niko Bellic, the protagonist. The story relies on the characters a lot and it succeeds in that department in flying colors. The gameplay is decent as well. I had heard that the driving was bad, but it was manageable. It’s more realistic I guess but I only had issues with the braking. It took forever for most of the cars to stop. However, the helicopters and especially the bikes had bad controls and I disliked the chase scenes involving them. My biggest issue with this game is the lack of checkpoints. If you fail a mission at any point, you have to do the whole thing again and it is extremely frustrating, especially in the last mission. You would have to do the very long driving sections again as well and they get really long as the game goes along. Sometimes, the game lets you do missions in your own way, which I thought was creative, but sometimes it gets really cheap and makes your target invincible just so you can get to a certain area. I don’t mind linear games, but I kinda wish it was more consistent. The game has a great theme song, although I wanted a full score like 5 had. The graphics and sound design hold up pretty well and to this day. Finally, I played this game on PC. Don’t. It is one of the worst PC ports of all time. I played the 2020 rerelease (the complete edition) and it didn’t fix any problems as far as I’m aware. The game runs poorly even on top end hardware and there are a lot of bugs. The controls are very clunky and can cause you to go to something far away instead of the thing you want to go to which is right in front of you. Combat is fun, but the cover system is pretty bad. There are also 2 huge bugs that completely break the game. One of them causes the game to softlock and get you stuck in a garage unless you skip a cutscene. The other one is in the last mission and you have to lower your framerate through task manager to beat the game. It’s impossible to beat at 60 FPS+ if you don’t do that. Overall, GTA IV is a fantastic game that I enjoyed playing. It has a great story, memorable characters, decent gameplay, and some bad technical issues. Play the game on console if you can.     I think this is the most overrated gta ever. It does nothing better than gta sa, so many things got worse. There are a few open world activities, they are boring. Driving physics are simulationistic but that is unnecesarry because that makes the game even harder when driving. Because it has good physics, that doesn't make the game better. Channels like Crowbcat just make it like "Omg AlWayS OLdeR gAmEs aRe BeSt!!" and show it unnecessary crap things. This game is one of the rockstar's biggest faults… Expand

    Well it's GTA so I liked it, but the port for PC was abysmal. The main character is not as memorable for me as the previous ones, but overall not bad. And let's not forget "Nico, you wanna go bowling?".

The physics are still better than any non-Rockstar made game despite being a decade old, the euphoria physics are still extremely fun and crazy, and the driving is the best and most complex of any GTA game to date.     Very bad port of a phenomenal game,i love the story and the gameplay aswell. The driving however is pretty annoying and the game also isnt very direct and can leave you without an idea of what to do.

    Относительно поздно понял какая это все же пушка.Сюжет и история топ 1 из всех серий,протагонист вообще лютый штэмп.Крч это топ 2 жта без базара,плюс серьезный графон для того времени.

    My favourite part of the series - no doubt! Great story and the best physics I saw in action games. Driving cars, bikes, flying and hiting people as Niko never gets old, even in 2022!

    GTA IV's story was my favorite one among the other games in the series. However, I had 2 significant issues, leading to a 3 point drop in my review.
    1 - Aiming was not sensitive to small mouse movements. When I aim for someone's head, I need to move the mouse upwards very slowly. However, the game does not pick up the small movements, which makes your cursor stuck just underneath my    GTA IV's story was my favorite one among the other games in the series. However, I had 2 significant issues, leading to a 3 point drop in my review.

When I move the mouse more strongly to counter that, it finally detects it, but this time the cursor flies upwards, again missing the head. This was not a game-breaking issue or didn't make anything more difficult. However, in a game like GTA where you always need to use a gun, it becomes very annoying.
    2 - There were huge bugs, although extremely few. At a certain point, I needed to spam the space button as a mission objective, but the button was not working. I had to completely change my graphics settings in order to make the space button work in a mission.
    Other than these 2 issues, the game was very amazing. The acting, story, story presentation, the freedom in your choices, and variety of friend activities were all perfect.    … Expand

    The introduction, with its brooding, glowing Liberty City and epic OST, still gets my heart racing. On the downside, the missions are a bit cliched.

His cousin says he's very rich in Liberty City, but when Nico Bellic arrives in Liberty City, he finds Roman very poor and threatened. He goes into business with his cousin Roman. It also reveals that the GTA series did not create a character blended with classic American culture, that they came as immigrants and experienced cultural confusion. It is worth saying that the GTA series is the best in terms of story. Although the radio music is not as perfect as Gta Vice City, good songs are selected. Not to mention NPCs, it's better than Cyberpunk 2077, which came out in September 2020. Rockstar really does this sport.… Expand

Не, простор все ещё большой, хотя как будто бы есть какие то рамки или не знаю.. ещё этот фильтр желто-серый, как будто я просто вышел на улицу в России. Не то чтобы я прям мечтаю играть в "уныние". Не зацепила.Это наверно самая не запоминающаяся часть GTA из всех. Какие-то недо русские недо итальянцы в NY.     Худшая из серии GTA. Все любили гта за свободный мир, тут же огромные ограничения, банально на хватает самолетов. Сюжет приятный, когда выходила - ждали ее просто все) В принципе на тот момент это был "ШЕДЕВР". 7из10, ну не больше.Худшая из серии GTA.     Это потрясающая игра, лучшая часть серии GTA и одна из лучших игр Rockstar Games. Сюжет великолепный, а главный герой Нико Беллик лучший. Определённо каждый должен пройти эту замечательную игру.

I forgot this game and I saw an gameplay on YouTube. I remembered that this game was so perfect so I bought this game on PS3 and PC. I also have a GTA IV collection with more than 10 GTA IV game. It is way better than GTA V. MaybeBest game ever! Nostalgia! GTA IV is very nostalgic for me. I remember I played this game on a PS3 in a hotel I went to with my family when I was just 7-8 yo.     Sua otimização pode ser problemática, mas é tanto detalhezinho que esse jogo possui que o torna único. Meu GTA preferido, disparado!

    Це дуже хороша гра! З сюжетом дуже гарно попрацювали,він пророблений до найменьших деталей. Дуже ощасливила СНГ тема. Сподобалась технологія eiphorya physicks, та реалістичне поводження транспорту.

    I liked gta 4 this is one of the only gta games that i likesd story wise however there are some problems like how there are pc fps issues and how over 10 years later i can only manage 60 fps max on an rtx 2060 and how i had to reinstall the game when i find graphical and cutcene issues apart from this the game is perfect the story and plot are some of the best in the gta serise and theI liked gta 4 this is one of the only gta games that i likesd story wise however there are some problems like how there are pc fps issues and how over 10 years later i can only manage 60 fps max on an rtx 2060 and how i had to reinstall the game when i find graphical and cutcene issues apart from this the game is perfect the story and plot are some of the best in the gta serise and the graphics rival games relased today (the remakes of gta 3 - SA)… Expand

Как обычно, порты для ПК у Роков смехотворные, имеют баги, недоработки, фризы и проседы ФПС, но всё остальное просто на уровне.

Геймплей хреновый, почти точь-в-точь, как в Сан Андреас. Провалишь задание в самом конце - начинай всё сначала. Оптимизация ужасная. Бывало фпс 45 при нагрузке на ГП в 50%. Графика такая себе.     Das Spiel war für seine Zeit extrem innovativ und hat eine phänomenale Spielwelt. Hinzu kommt eine packende und lange Storyline. Leider gibt es bei der PC-Version einige Bugs, welche einige Story-Missionen zum Scheitern verurteilt (7/10).

    There is an optimization problem that would not be expected from a company like Rockstar. After the excellent optimization of GTA 5, I did not expect such a thing. Computers running GTA 5 without problems do not run GTA 4 without fps drops.

    GTA IV is my favorite sandbox from the entire GTA series. I noticed that there are countless interesting things in it. For example, shootouts in Cluckin Bell, sliding on a chair from Colony island, running from prisoners in jail and even more. The Undying classic.

    So close to be 10. I love GTA IV, it has great content, nice graphics and story of course.

    The reason I gave this a score of 8, is because it lacks optimisation to PC port, but putting this aside the game is an "unpolished diamond".

    I heard rumors, that Rockstar's gonna make a Definitive Edition just like they did with San Andreas, hopefully these rumors are true.

    Just add on your desired mods and whatnot and you can surely imitate GTA V and make GTA IV a much better game, since the control scheme is better in this game.

Negative opinions about the game are usually due to optimization, but if you have a computer that will have difficulty playing a game released in 2008, it is probably not for you to play games. This may have been a problem for the time it came out, but not for today.

    Great game, amazing story, but I cannot give it a 10 because of the quality of the port. Without downloading third party bug fixes it can be broken and the overall optimization makes it hard to run on the highest settings on modern PCs, let alone PCs of the time.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. GTA IV. Отличная, но противоречивая игра. Полноценное продолжение, вышедшее через 4 года после GTA: SA. На сей раз под нашим управлением оказывается Нико Беллик, эмигрант из Восточной (скорее, Южной) Европы, прибывший в Америку за "американской мечтой". Вспоминается фото сценариев этой игры и GTA III. К сожалению, здесь слишком обширный и затянутый сюжет, и его невозможно описать, не задев впечатлений от остальных аспектов, поэтому сделаю описание одним предложением. Нико Беллик эмигрирует из Европы в Америку, здесь он встречает различных представителей мафии и работает на них, а также на своих друзей, просто заказчиков и копов, попутно он ищет предателя времен войны, находит его, отпускает либо убивает, затем срабатывается или убивает человека, который его подставил, после чего на свадьбе двоюродного брата гибнет сам брат или девушка Нико, и тот мстит за одного из них. Это в целом весь сюжет. Перейду к остальным составляющим игры, гораздо лучшим. Вся игра состоит из деталей! Физика всего, что есть, графика, прорывная для серии GTA уж точно, социально-ролевой элемент общения со всеми персонажами делают эту игру невероятно оригинальной! Телефон, получаемый в начале и присутствующий до самого конца, обрастает контактами, встречами, можно звонить по отдельным номерам и вызывать такси, делать фото и отправлять MMS, а также получать их и SMS, распознавать музыку. Электронная почта и интернет - не менее важная часть жизни персонажа, здесь мы получаем спам, деловые письма, личные, читаем новости (о своих же похождениях!), сидим на сайтах знакомств, покупаем рингтоны... Бои прекрасны: вид из-за плеча, Euphoria позволяет наблюдать гиперреалистичное поведение тел от любого действия, также обширен арсенал и, опять же, физика дает простор экспериментам. Машины повреждаются, можно сказать, лучше, чем в реальности, так впечатляет, когда едешь на вогнутом со всех сторон ведре, которое встает и не включается, даже радио затухает. А собственно поездки реализованы детально вплоть до меняющегося поведения шин в зависимости от погоды, не говоря об уязвимости самих шин, стекла, дисков. Другие виды транспорта просто неплохо собраны. Музыка хороша лично для меня на двух радиостанциях: Broker и известной Vladivostok FM, но все остальное также часть неплохого саундтрека. И, конечно, гениальная заглавная тема игры, написанная Майклом Хантером, долго не выйдет у меня из головы. Минусы игры в плохой оптимизации и растянутом сюжете, идея которого в том, чтобы просто "убивать за деньги", причем, почти во всех миссиях - и это неясное решение.     Maybe my favorite GTA game, though I have not played many but plan to soon. Nico is an interesting character and the way characters act and the voice acting is really realistic. The city looks really good and the atmosphere is really nice. I also found the main story interesting and I was super excited to learn more as I progressed throughout the story.

    The main story of the game talks about a man named Niko Bellic. A Siberian is a former military soldier who fought during the Yugoslav Wars. Like Niko said he killed, smuggled, and sold a lot of people. During the war, Niko's unit of 15 men was killed and the 3 of them survived that is Niko, Florian, and Darko. You have to start something small before you do something big. The story in the game was very emotional and depressing making the story very interestingly deep to learn about more of Niko Bellic. Some of the characters in the game have special abilities. My favorite is Dwanye's Backup. Including datable characters like Carmen's Health Boost, Kiki's Remove Wanted Level, and Alexandra's Store Discount Also, non-hangout-able characters like Francis McReary's remove wanted level just like Kiki'sThe weapon choices in the game were a little small. Not enough variety though but still the weapons are still very useful. Some of my favorites is the carbine rifle, rocket Launcher, and combat shotgun. You can even buy outfits in the game like the Russian Shop, Modo, and Perseus. This game also features using a computer. It feels ironic that I am using a computer in my computer to connect the GTA version of it. And hang-out spots in case there is nothing to do like, bowling, darts, strip club, eating, drinking, pool, and of course non hang-out spots like the arcade. The best part is that not just you can have 3 safe houses but 4 safe houses in one game. I only that I could have 3 safe houses because I only played the City Story Games on the PSP. As for Chinatown Wars, I will review that later. The game did not have planes like GTA 3, but I will still let it slide. This is one of the games that I would definitely recommend for people who want to play this game like the good old days or want to know what is going on and what they missed before GTA V.

    Great game, great story. Nico is one of the most relatable GTA characters to this game.

    The PC port is an absolute shame though. Even on modern hardware the game runs worse than GTA V, with some absolutely devestating framedrops especially in the night. I would definitely recommend playing it though.

    Very good game, some glitches and bugs here and there the performance is not also well but the game itself is great - 8/10

    Technically, the PC version has some problems, but it's nothing that you can't play with. Story is deep and dark. Niko as a character goes through a lot and you understand his doubts about himself.

    Love this game. Best fo gta series. It is badly optimized but still sho many memories with this game. Still like this more than gta v.

    A genuinely ground-breaking blockbuster in videogame history. There were moments playing GTA IV that I thought back to my initial experiences with games, and realised exactly how far we've come.
