    The first 3D GTA, which basically started it all... Jawdropping at its time, but aged pretty badly unfortunately... Still, for me the second best in the old-school 3D GTA series, right after Vice City

    I started the GTA marathon with this game. I don't feel nostalgic for GTA 3, as far as I remember, I preferred Vice City and there are reasons for that.

    The atmosphere of this game is grey and sad compared to the sunny Miami I'm used to. The plot of the game is great. There's no denying that some of the tasks were boring and ridiculous. The world of the game is divided into three parts,    I started the GTA marathon with this game. I don't feel nostalgic for GTA 3, as far as I remember, I preferred Vice City and there are reasons for that.

    The atmosphere of this game is grey and sad compared to the sunny Miami I'm used to. The plot of the game is great. There's no denying that some of the tasks were boring and ridiculous. The world of the game is divided into three parts, which we will gradually open as we go through the story. But the game world still seems small and so it is. And the third island was left unused at all, there was not a single person giving the task. The silence of the protagonist also affected the evaluation. He doesn't radiate any charisma, just a murderer.

    It's an very important game for video game history.
    Even tho GTA 3 is a good game there are many problems. I would say that the biggest problems are the driving physics, the time limits on some of the missions are too short and of course the fact that your vehicle explode when it lands upside down. Good things. As I said this is a fun sandbox. There    GTA 3 is a fun sandbox game.

    Well, that came to an end my passage of this legendary trilogy, or else as it is called "3D Universe". I went through all the old parts of GTA (VC, SA, III) and I liked this one less than the others. When I just decided to take a three-ruble note, it seemed to me that after passing it I would not get the same impression as from VC or SA, but still this is a classic without which there would be no GTA at all.
    Let's move on to the review itself, otherwise I'm not on the topic: D. I'll start with what I liked about this game: ch. the hero Claude (I must admit that I liked him more than CJ from SA or the same Tommy from VC, although he did not utter a word for the whole game, but there is something in him, probably his charisma), the atmosphere of Liberty -City of the beginning of zero, 3 cities and shootouts (in any GTA you will not see severed limbs lying on the ground), perhaps that's all.
    Now what I didn't like: the plot (many missions made purely for the sake of the game not being prolonged), add. missions (especially missions on Marty Chonks, 4 missions are absolutely the same ...), the behavior of bots (traffic that constantly crashes and makes nonsense on the roads, pedestrians always throw themselves under the wheels attracting you to the cops, and the cops are hardcore in three rubles ...), Well, actually the most important thing: if you suddenly want to complete the game, then you just need to stuff the game with various fixes, because the game will be 30 fps and a bunch of missions thwarted due to the fact that the cut-scene simply cannot load or the game is deadlocked. For example: once I shot down a helicopter, when it crashed into the water, the game froze tightly so that even the task manager did not help, then I just turned on the frame limiter and everything became normal, the conclusion: the game is really outdated by its optimization (and I did not only about GTA III, this also applies to VC and SA).
    Bottom line: I do not want to say that I do not recommend going through GTA III, but if you want to play comfortably, then you should bother with plugins and various fixes. If you are a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series of games, then you simply have to go through this part like all the other old parts of this game franchise and not immediately take up GTA V as many of my friends do.

    The legendary game, which is the main starter game of the GTA legend. Even though its story is not at the forefront, it is a peak production for 2001 with completely different missions. When I go to the discount, I would say it would be more convenient to buy the package containing GTA 3, GTA: VC, GTA: SA games.

    I played it in 2021 this was a huge hit I guess in 2002, because the game is still enjoyable today, pretty good storyline, funny characters, a piece of gaming history.

С уверенностью говорю, что я не потратил ни единого часа игры зря! Игра почти полностью забита контентом, а это говорит о том, что игрок не будет скучать изучая мир игры, правда временами, мне казалось, что один из островов довольно скуп наЕдинственная часть франшизы в которую я не играл. Радио тоже в целом не плохое, есть прям шедевральные композиции! А вот саундтрек, мое почтение. В общем все звуковое сопровождение в игре отличное, звук шагов, звук машин, голоса прохожих, полицейских, оружия и второстепенных персонажей.     GTA 3 was the first GTA I ever played. While it lacks the story and graphics of the newer entries, it's no different than the rest of the series in terms of the fun you get from playing GTA.

    Great game. Cool looking map. The missions are fun. I wish your character got to speak thou. I don't understand why Rockstar didn't have him talk? And another thing I didn't like with GTA 3 is the there not being a map in the pause menu. How ever this was early days so it's understandable. The map is small thou so it's easy to learn. I had fun playing this game and it's way better then theGreat game. Cool looking map. The missions are fun. I wish your character got to speak thou.     This is one of the milestones of gaming history and established Grand Theft Auto as THE open world franchise. Its style still holds up today and can still be a lot of fun to play.

    Обожаю grand theft auto 3, первая 3d grand theft auto, первая хорошая графика и озвучка хорошая, конечно игра сложная, но раньше на это люди вообще не обращали, но из-за сложности очень интересно играть, потому-что ты что то обдумываешь.
    Вывод: это первая качественная игра от rockstar, и хорошо что rockstar додумались сделать 3d grand theft auto, заслуженно 8/10!    Обожаю grand theft auto 3, первая 3d grand theft auto, первая хорошая графика и озвучка хорошая, конечно игра сложная, но раньше на это люди вообще не обращали, но из-за сложности очень интересно играть, потому-что ты что то обдумываешь.
    Вывод: это первая качественная игра от rockstar, и хорошо что rockstar додумались сделать 3d grand theft auto, заслуженно 8/10!

    For 2001, the game is an incredible game! I liked the plot. But a very big disadvantage, when I die during the mission, I need to go again to the person who will give me the mission. I want to continue playing the GTA series. So I'm going to play Gta: Vice City.

    This game is what started open world games and I think that it deserves more love for that.The game does not hold up that well today, but I think that this is an amazing game still.

    The very first time GTA went 3rd person and it was AWESOME.
    The game is a legend. For the first time you can do everything a GTA had to offer while living it inside the game and not above it.

    Although roaming sandbox games existed before this title, this one certaily was the very best 3rd person full 3D graphics sandbox game at the time.
    I was glad to had the chance to play this from start to end and if you ever get the chance to start a GTA marathon, you won't be any disappointed!

    The game is great. But unlike GTA: VC and GTA: SA it has aged a little badly.
    Some missions are unbearable and unnecessarily difficult due to the controls.
    Obviously it remains an incredible game for the time but evaluated from today's perspective it does not deserve full marks

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played this game before and I played this game again. Grand Theft Auto III is one of the 3rd Grand Theft Auto Games that completely played twice.

    The graphics in the game are good because it was an old game. Usually in old games felt it was made with paper magazines.

    When using the joystick it felt very wonky. That is why I have to rely on using the mouse and keyboard all the time. It's not how I usually remembered when I played Grand Theft Auto on my PC

    The weapons are just completely difficult to handle, One of the biggest that are hard to use are the sniper riffles and assault riffles. Making it very hard to use.

    The vehicles that I drove felt like everything was made with paper mache.

    The game has some glitches like the mountains in Shoreside Vale and bug which is the hard-to-use plane Dodo which is absolutely ironic that it means flightless bird.

    And one thing that I hated is how the Leone Family are just too dangerous. Meaning every time I go to Portland I get killed by the Leone Family and not just that but every other of those islands that kept on attacking me every time I completed a mission that started a feud.

    Safe houses were somewhat useful for saving but did not have more interaction. Meaning that I fully go check what is in the interior,

    One that is great about is the story. I played and it was pretty good that this focuses on after the events of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas when Catalina betrayed Claude all because of her greed. However almost didn't bring enough proper explanation of the story. One example is that what happened to Maria after the incident of the gun sound in the end.

    Either way. Grand Theft Auto III is a great game. I like to take the challenge but I didn't mean to challenge my bugs or glitches.    … Expand

    It's an absolutely excellent game. But this is really a lazy port of the PS2 version. The system requirements are unreasonably high considering the PS2 runs it perfectly with a 300 mhz processor. While my 1 ghz computer can't handle the pc version without occasional slow down.

    It's quite funny but I don't quite get this phenomena. I mean this game is fairly good but it's not attractive for me in any way. When I was playing it I actually felt lured more by the gameplay possibilities rather then the quests or the story and I think that this is its main problem. I wanted to steal cars, smash them, kill people, buy some guns and then kill more people, then defendIt's quite funny but I don't quite get this phenomena. I mean this game is fairly good but it's not attractive for me in any way. When I was playing it I actually felt lured more by the gameplay possibilities rather then the quests or the story and I think that this is its main problem. I wanted to steal cars, smash them, kill people, buy some guns and then kill more people, then defend from the tank... etc. :) This was fun. I wanted to have some fun and by doing those stuff I was getting what I've wanted even though that game wasn't fully designed in such a way?!

    Its kinda dated, but it's hold up as a good GTAesque game, the missions are incredibly fun, the lack of features as swimming sucks and you need to mod to be able to swim, but still a good game.

    For it's time the graphics themselves were great, pushing gaming foward etc, and I really am not someone who plays games solely for a pretty experience. I just don't feel entertained by GTA3 as much as the other titles, mainly for it's atmosphere I'd say.

    All your favorite mission types, gameplay elements are there which do a great job, radio stations return and can be pretty funny.

    I've just never been a fan of the dull, dark, rain all the time visuals.

    This game is the first great title of the legendary game series. However it has several disadvantaged: serious graphics bugs at several locations, very simple fighting/shooting technique, the game story isn`t deep only 25-40% are really interesting. Anyway it was great as a beginning of a great game series.

    GTA 3 was one of the first games that elevate the "open world games" to what they are today.

    For an updated computer with Windows 10 the game is strange to play, especially because the resolution is very low for today standards. But taking in account the 2002 standards, the game was amazing.

    Didn't finish game because of technical problems on my PC with Windows XP, which was new back then.

    Didn't age the best but it's the game that spawned some of the best games ever made after it. This one get's all the credit for laying the ground work. Hell, on it's own it's still a blast, the radio is small but still bangs, the gameplay is fun. I wish it had a map though.

When finishing a mission and you're on your way home to save it happens that some mad guys will shoot at your car with a single bullet and set it on fire leaving you on a empty street with no car around and you end up in hospital losing all weapons also all weapons i had get vanished on the last mission, no map plan view some roads access in the airport region are not that clear on the round map with some misleading target points.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Un gran juego que marcó historia, indudablemente. Sin embargo, cada uno de sus sucesores se ha encargado de sacar a la luz los errores de GTA III, bien, veamos qué tiene que ofrecer en 2022. GTA III es un videojuego de mundo abierto con una premisa bastante novedosa para la época en la que fue lanzado, darle libertad absoluta al jugador para recorrer un enorme mapa y realizar infinidad de actividades diferentes en él, concepto que lo popularizó inigualablemente, situándolo entre los diez videojuegos más vendidos de el Play Station 2 (Aunque la versión evaluada aquí es la de PC). En este videojuego encarnamos a Claude, un caracter aparentemente mudo y que a principios del argumento es traicionado por su novia, Catalina que pasa a convertirse en el antagonista principal y de la cual buscaremos vengaza, trabajando y asociándonos con figuras representativas del crimen en la ciudad en la que se desarrolla el juego, Liberty City, una parodia de Nueva York. Los gráficos se siguen viendo bastante bien después de 20 años de su lanzamiento, no son lo mejor de la generación pero me parece que cumplen correctamente con algunas de las expresiones faciales de los personajes, así como para entregar un mapa enorme lleno de detalles en una era no tan avanzada tecnológicamente. El soundtrack de la experiencia me parece bastante memorable, basado en el tema principal y cada una de las canciones que aparecen en el radio, encajan con la esencia que transmite la ciudad y el argumento, y más de una se queda en tu cabeza horas después de dejar de jugar. La jugabilidad me parece el aspecto que peor ha envejecido del juego, GTA se caracteriza como un viedeojuego de mundo abierto enfocado en dos aspectos, la conducción y la acción (escenas de tiroteos), en cuanto a la primera, pese a que los automóviles en ocasiones se sienten un poco toscos no tengo demasiadas quejas en el apartado, lamentablemente no puedo decir lo mismo de los disparos.
    No existe un botón para apuntar, es disparar y mirar el indicador para saber si las balas están acertando en el enemigo al que deseas eliminar. Agregando que estos enemigos tienen que ser enfrentados de frente, arriesgándote de igual manera a que ellos también te eliminen, ya que hacen muchísimo daño. No tiene un sistema de cobertura, puedes agregar uno de manera artificial cubriéndote con un automóvil, pero fuera de eso siempre tienes que emplear una estrategia muy clara para poder triunfar, ya que la dificultad no es nada baja. Dificultad, una característica muy presente en este videojuego, si buscas un desafío estás en el lugar correcto por que sin temor a equivocarme puedo asegurar que este es la entrega más difícil de la franquicia. En gran parte por el sistema de disparos mencionado con anterioridad, pero también por la implementación de misiones de conducción a contrarreloj que pueden meterte en muchos problemas. Es importante remarcar que las calles. o son un lugar seguro en este videojuego, conforme el argumento avance, Claude se irá haciendo de varios enemigos que, si lo ven, incluso fuera de una misión, le dispararán a su vehículo sin titubear, si a esto aumentamos que algunos de los enemigos contarán con escopetas que destruirán tu vehículo con dos disparos, puedes asegurar que morirás infinidad de veces en este videojuego, volviéndose en ocasiones muy frustrante. El argumento, lamentablemente, me parece extremadamente débil, tomando en cuenta que cada uno de los sucesores de la saga de Grand Theft Auto se ha encargado de opacar esta entrega, por lo menos en este aspecto. Claude, un personaje mudo, del que no tenemos la más mínima idea de su pasado, quiere cobrar venganza de su novia, que sí, lo traiciona pero simplemente esta premisa desaparece en todo el juego, que trata de Claude obedeciendo órdenes de diversidad de personajes que no complementan a la obtención de su objetivo, este se hace presente hasta el final, como si los creadores hubieran dicho “Ya tenemos muchas misiones, mete a Catalina y que el protagonista pelee con ella para meter los créditos finales”. Se sintiera como si este argumento fuera copiado de cualquiera de los dos primeros juegos y lo pegaran en una espectacular entrega en 3D, que posee un rango de libertad histórico que hace que GTA III sea divertido de revisitar, incluso cuando todos sus sucesores lo han superado.
    Si amas la saga, tal como yo, pruébalo, es divertido, varias misiones te sacarán una sonrisa y no te arrepentirás de invertir aproximadamente 15 horad en este juego. Uno de los mejores videojuegos en la historia, por lo que planteó desde un principio, no es el mejor juego de la franquicia, sin embargo, posee más aciertos que errores en su compleja estructura.    … Expand

    Though I am a fan of the franchise, I think this game deserves a 5 at best. Quite lacks stuff to do when you beat the short 4-5 hour long storyline. Though I like how hard and challenging this game is, I wouldn't recommend this. I really hate the soundtrack as we'll but don't worry because of the MP3 Player.

    But like i mention, the game is way too frustrating... police officers hates you, and when they chase you they will tear you car into peaces. In every "neighbourhood" every single gang will star shooting at you, even if you don't do anything bad to them. Cars will consume into flames too fast, just a couple of hits are enough. Health can run out too quickly... and you can't swim.
    The story was turning to be a bit more series than the last games and this was a good thing. The missions were mixed... the early missions were easy to take, but as you start to unlock more areas from Liberty City the more difficult this will get.
    GTA 3 is a good game, but it's unbalanced difficult makes the experience a pain in the ass.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. its good but hasn't aged as well as people say, first off the ai is either dumb or brutal. its also annoying because if you do some missions before others it will lock the missions rendering 100 percent unobtainable. also by the end of the game pretty much all of the gangs are mad at you making taxi, paramedic, and vigilante impossible. so you basically have to do all the side content before the main missions. which makes this game even more linear than later gta games. overall the base game is fine but there are a lot of issues. 6/10… Expand

    However, the game suffers from bad design, in that most of the sencond half missions are made on a "try again" basis. You woon't be able to complete them on the first try, because the game designers made damn sure of that.     I dont liked this game so much, sure this is revolotiunary over 10 years ago but now its not. Its a average game. And after the storyline there's nothing to do.

    Наконец-то я прошёл эту игру и смело и дерзко могу написать на неё обзор.
    Начну с того, что игру я прошёл от начала и до конца, поэтому я в полной мере могу заявить, что сюжет в ней крайне банальный, скучный и предсказуемый.
    МИНУСЫ: Ох, их здесь очень много - Главный герой - брат Гордона Фримена и Челл (потому что немой) - Конченный ИИ - Чрезвычайно много багов - Плохое управление    Наконец-то я прошёл эту игру и смело и дерзко могу написать на неё обзор.

    - Конченный ИИ
    - Чрезвычайно много багов
    - Плохое управление
    - Убогие текстуры
    - Кривое меню
    - Нет русских субтитров и озвучки
    - В этой игре всё против тебя
    К тому же игра очень сложная, самая сложная часть ГТА и с этим поспорит только конченый дурачок.
    - Но она же вышла в 2001 году, будь солидарнее и уважительнее
    - Отстань, я заплатил за неё 400 рублей и мне плевать когда она вышла, я высказываю своё мнение.
    ПЛЮСЫ:
    Ах да, их же здесь нет, какая жалость.
    ГТА 3 зарождение великолепной и легендарной серии игр, но саму её легендарной назвать нельзя, мне всё равно что будут кукарекать олды, я вправе полностью полить то, что они любят фекалиями, ведь я оценил эти самые фекалии.

    The driving experience is just fine, the handling model is very arcady but solid, however vehicles are ridiculously fragile (good    Released in 2001, GTA III is definitely a mark for the gaming industry for how dense it WAS back then. However it doesn’t handle well for today’s standards, and no, I’m not talking about graphics; I’m talking about the overall gameplay that generally SUCKS.

    The driving experience is just fine, the handling model is very arcady but solid, however vehicles are ridiculously fragile (good luck passing on Saint Mark’s after you unlock the second island) and they flip in the tiniest crash;

    The shooting/fighting mechanics are BAD and very hard sometimes since the AI seems to be f*cking aimbots, eventually killing you instantly. To make it even worse you can’t take cover, probably due to hardware/software limitations, but nonetheless it’s a pain in the a$$.

    The story is short and mediocre, with unrelatable characters, a predictable plot and missions that are extraordinarily repetitive and unnecessarily challenging with a terrible sense of direction, especially in Marked Man and Espresso-2-Go. Often you’ll be questioning why in the actual hell you’re doing these jobs since most of them don't actually play a major role in the story.

    The map is small, but surprisingly well detailed despite some repeated buildings, the buggy tunnel and the annoying sound of the bridge that connects Stauton Island to Shoreside Vale that can be heard even when you’re in the subway or the tunnel. But overall, the map is decent and can provide many hours of mayh… sorry, a nice playthrough.

    With all that said: should you play the game? Despite not being a great game for today’s standards, yes, you probably should give it a try. It’s a nice (but quite frustrating) trip back in time, that shows how much the franchise has evolved since 2001. The only advice I would give is to play either in the mobile port or PC versions, since the first has some annoying bugs fixed and the second can be easily be modded in order to provide a better gameplay.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I respect this game, I really do. It is one of my first gta's after all. But it doesn't hold well today.

    Story and characters are meh. Our character is emotionless and mute so you can't feel attached to him. Other characters are not that memorable.

    There are no checkpoints in missions. Which is one of the things I hate in older gta's. If you fail you start from the beginning. You die pretty quickly so you need to play it perfectly.

    After killing gang leaders it is hard to roam around the city. They always attack you. So you need to do side missions before doing main missions to avoid that.

    You can't bail out. You need to stop first, then get out.

    Police system always sucked in 3D universe games to be honest. Only way to get rid of them is either get police bribes or go to pay n spray.

    There is no map in the menu so you always need to look minimap. And it doesn't even tell you some important places like ammu nation.

    You lose all your weapons when you die.

    You can't spend your money on anything other than weapons and pay n spray.

    Cars turn upside down even in slightest bump.

    Gunplay is weak.

    Gta 3 was good but it is hard to go back today.    … Expand
