    Very well executed game with minimal bugs upon release. Overall, I enjoyed the game immensely and I thought it was well worth the money!

    One of the best RPGs ever created. The best thing is: The game is very well balanced. At a point walking around over and over to the same places get annoying you get Runes who can be used to teleport around the Isle of Khorinis. If you are a Germany, you will love the speech..funny indeed.;). Don't believe the mag-bashing above, they wouldn't recognize a good RPG even when the One of the best RPGs ever created.     Just play Gothic 1 and then continue your experience with the great sequel Gothic 2. Gothic can be played multiple times cause you can choose different paths to finish the game. And every time you play it you will discover new things that you missed at previous play. What can I say? GREAT GAME !!! Buy it ! And wait for the sequel Gothic 3.

    An excellent game. It has a few glitches and a fairly steep learning curve, but if you loved the first one or just love RPG's in general, this is a lost gem.

    One of the most enjoyable RPGs I've played. Took me hours to complete, but was fun the whole time. One of the very few that was playable without a single patch and with very little fuss at the highest res. As a player you can choose a variety of actions which don't paint you into an in escapable position from which you have to re-start the whole game to make any progress. The story is new but the land is somewhat familiar. There are very few bugs, but those that are apparent can be avoided. The dialogs are direct and raw (fits to german mentality), the story and the backgrounds of many quests are interesting. Unfortunately many quests are too linear. The addon Night of the Raven is great, it adds a big map and good quests.
    You can build up your character freely and this game is    Gothic 2 is considered to be classic, because it has something many games don´t have: atmosphere.     Fortunately there are some mods to improve the old graphics.

    The balance is one of the weaknesses of the game, because it is so much easier to play as a warrior. In addition there are still some little bugs and the overview over the quests is poor. The biggest problem is the length, especially in chapter 4 I felt the game too repetitive. That is why I prefer Gothic 1.    … Expand

    Completed 12 times, last time was 8 months ago. After you get used to old controls and graphic game is epic again. Night of the raven is pretty big expansion to this game and makes it more difficult, highly recommended to play with it. Gothic 1 and 2 will always be the best games of my life :)

On day 1 it was a nightmare to play but I was prepared and waited until patches fixed the problems (mostly). It continues the story of Gothic. The nameless hero (running gag as he will always be interrupted when he wants toOne of the best sequels in videogames. It improves nearly all aspects of Gothic. There is one exception. The bugs became a dishonorable staple of the Gothic series. On day 1 it was a nightmare to play but I was prepared and waited until patches fixed the problems (mostly). It continues the story of Gothic. The nameless hero (running gag as he will always be interrupted when he wants to introduce himself) has destroyed the barrier and freed the prisoners but was trapped. His mentor Xardas rescued him in a weakened state after some time has passed as a new and even greater menace appears on the Island of Khorinis. On the main land the war against the orcs does not go well and the king has send his paladins to get as much magic ore as possible from Khorinis because magic weapons are their best chance. There are uprisings on Khorinis as the kings increasing taxes ruin the people. Again the game has great characters, humor, an enjoyable story and an even bigger world to explore. The story is excellent and has good twist and some surprises. For players of Gothic it is even better as you will encounter old friends and be indulged in nostalgia. This is the prime example of creating good NPC characters. You care about them. The world-building and lore gets improved as you learn more about the gods, faith, politics and society. Again there are fractions in the game you can work for and must chose one later on. There are also rumors of a thieves guild and maybe you will revisit a familiar place;-). The world is huge for its time and there is a lot to explore. Be warned as you can explore much of it early one and you are not suited or underprepared to deal with all enemies yet. Again bows are the best choice for combat and I would stick with it. A new addition is a crafting system. You can become an apprentice in a few professions (can learn a bit in all but must chose one). You can craft weapons, gut animals or brew potions. The leveling system is untouched. You gain experience points and after leveling up you get skill points that can be used to increase stats or learn new abilities from trainers. Tip: After you reach certain numbers for your stats it gets more expensive to raise them further. Raising comes in 1 and 5 point steps. Raise it 1 point below the point it gets more expensive and raise it thereafter by 5 points. Saved a few points this way. As before bows are my favorite choice and many will agree. While it is an excellent game there are 2 complaints. Firstly the bugs which I avoided by waiting for patches (Took longer than it sounded and you can read the documentation what the patches fixed) and secondly it is a bit to easy. I hardly died in the game. However this does not taint the experience. Overall this was a classic for its time and still holds up. The atmosphere, characters and story won many people over. Bonus: The add on “Night of the Raven” improved the game tremendous (Again after some patches) and is considered by many including me as ultimate Gothic experience (Gothic 3 is inferior due to development struggles and Gothic 4 is more of using the name to get a bigger audience).… Expand

    Strange thing is: This game had a user rating of about 8.8- 9.2 some months ago! If you look at the reviews you will notice that written reviews are almost all very positive. But there seem to be many people who dislike the game but didnt't tell us why. And believe me: these negative ratings were not there half a year ago. My personal conclusion is: THE RATING IS MANIPULATED by haters/… Expand

Самому находить ответы, самому распутывать клубок квестов и прогрессии персонажа. Игра один сплошной квест, и это замечательно. Кучу побочек конечно запорол :-) Играл магом, так что "прелестей" боёвки удалось избежать, а магия в игре нормас. ИграетсяПрошел первый раз. Сложно, интересно, впечатляюще.     The people who gave it a negative review are simply too casual for this game, since Gothic 2 is probably the most difficult RPG ever. Dark Souls is nothing compared to it

    THE one and only best game of my life. Never before, or never after have I been so deep inside a story. 100% immersion. Thanks to The night of the raven expansion, bugs are scarce, plot line is cosy, includes many old friends, lets you make a new ones, but watch out not to be betrayed! If you don't min/max everything the difficulty curve is always on the same level which is hard, butTHE one and only best game of my life. Never before, or never after have I been so deep inside a story. 100% immersion.     A still close to state-of-the-art atmosphere, with 'living' people and places, authentic social structures in an open world and a straight story line with lots of sidelines - the end might be a bit disputable, but nevermind. A classic.

The story, the voiceacting, the melee fighting mechanics, the vast and diverse world is one of a kind. Gothic 1 should be played before this game, so you wont have trouble understanding the story ( and gothic 1 is fantastic game as well ).

    Pros
    - This game is a true open-world rpg. You can visit the vast majority of places in the world without story developing into those regions
    - The melee fighting mechanic is very well constructed. The combos are really fun execute. The AI meelefighters are also masterfully done. You will understand in a very short time, that you are facing a true blademaster. The parries, dodges and combos the enemies can do makes the fighting experience something beyond many rpg games i have played.
    - The magic in the game is diverse. Healing, summoning, teleportation, elemental, status effect you have everything in this game. The AI mages usually use low level spells, but sometimes you encounter your usual enemy mage casting one the strongest fire spells if you allow him to execute the spell in time.
    - The story is fantastic. Very well written, very well coordinated through npcs, augmented with side-quests helping you get through the main story.
    - The side quest are what makes this game on the best in its time.
    - The voice acting is fantastic ( especially the german)
    - The integration of the gothic 1 characters is smoothly done. They fit right in where you will find them here in gothic 2
    - The world is wonderfully constructed, each new region has a center plaza to rotate easily between places of importance. Different terrain in nearly all the new places you encounter. Vast number of monsters. Huge number of npcs. The npcs with no names ( eg. a novice) has speech option, where he or she will give a different responses to the different events happening in the world of khorinis at that time
    - Replayable through different faction selections.
    - Fantastic world and boss music

    Cons
    - Minor logic mistake with npc equipments
    - Playing as a mage in add-on is very hard. This is very sad, because some of the add-on introduced spells are very fun to use ( the normal G2 mage is still fine)
    - Some of the boss battles are not working properly, the patterns leave open a lot of abuses for archers and mages to exploit.
    - There are still some bugs for unlimited gold if you have the time to do it multiple times. ( nothing gamebreaking )    … Expand

Ich könnte Stunden lang darüber nachdenken, wie ich all die positiven Dinge irgendwie aufzählen kann und würde immer noch keine Ahnung haben. Man muss es einfach gespielt haben, um sich einen Eindruck davon machen zu können. Das Einzige, was dem im Wege steht, ist dasEs ist einfach Gothic. Jeder sollte dieses Spiel gespielt haben. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach nur genial. Ich könnte Stunden lang darüber nachdenken, wie ich all die positiven Dinge irgendwie aufzählen kann und würde immer noch keine Ahnung haben. Man muss es einfach gespielt haben, um sich einen Eindruck davon machen zu können. Das Einzige, was dem im Wege steht, ist das verbesserungswürdige Kampfsystem. Doch selbst dieses Manko kann einer 10-von-10-Punkten-Bewertung nicht im Weg stehen und deshalb:

    Dle mého je tato hra nejlepší z celé série. Je zde vidět, jak hodně vývojáři postoupili od prvního dílu. Je zde mnohonásobně větší a hezčí svět, mnohem delší a zajímavější příběhová linie a vše perfektně navazuje na první díl. Bojový systém je příjemně vylepšený, doknce lze říct že je úplně nový.

    Od této hry můžete očekávat spoustu zajímavých úkolů, které nejsou v podstatě nijak oděleny    Dle mého je tato hra nejlepší z celé série. Je zde vidět, jak hodně vývojáři postoupili od prvního dílu. Je zde mnohonásobně větší a hezčí svět, mnohem delší a zajímavější příběhová linie a vše perfektně navazuje na první díl. Bojový systém je příjemně vylepšený, doknce lze říct že je úplně nový.

    Od této hry můžete očekávat spoustu zajímavých úkolů, které nejsou v podstatě nijak oděleny od hlavní příběhové linie. Většina úkolů je takového typu, že dorazíte do nějaké lokace a chcete se dostat dále, takže se musíte nějak osvědčit, aby vás vpustili dále a samozřejmě chcete peníze lepší vybavení a zkušenosti. Toto se může zdát repetetivní, ale zajímavá zápletka a nějaké speciální vedlejší úkoly vás poženou stále dál a dál.

    Co se týče vylepšování vaší postavičky tak vše funguje tak jak má a celé to funguje na klasickém systému zdraví, mana, síla a obratnost. Samozřejmě zde nechybí speciální dovednosti, jako třeba akrobacie, plížení atd.

    Tato hra toho nabízí celkem hodně zajímavého obsahu, přičemž pokud budete chtít udělat všechny úkoly tak vám to zabere zhruba 80 hodin.    … Expand

    Uno dei migliori GDR a cui io abbia mai giocato. Storia interessante, tantissime quest, luoghi da esplorare, segreti e oggetti da scoprire, il tutto farcito con una difficoltà piuttosto alta, ma di cui troppi GDR al giorno d'oggi sono privi. Ci metterete un po' a familiarizzare con i sistemi di gioco e di combattimento, ma una volta presa la mano non vi sarà poi complicato sapervi gestire.Uno dei migliori GDR a cui io abbia mai giocato. Storia interessante, tantissime quest, luoghi da esplorare, segreti e oggetti da scoprire, il tutto farcito con una difficoltà piuttosto alta, ma di cui troppi GDR al giorno d'oggi sono privi. Ci metterete un po' a familiarizzare con i sistemi di gioco e di combattimento, ma una volta presa la mano non vi sarà poi complicato sapervi gestire. Incarnez le héros sans nom, choisissez votre camp, et tentez de vous échapper de l'île dans laquelle on vous a enfermé. L'apprentissage des compétence se fait auprèsL'ancêtre de Risen ! La série des Gothics sont des excellents RPG. Partez chasser dans la forêt, mais attention : le sentiment de danger est très grand, dès lors que vous vous écartez des sentiers battus.

    100/100 najlepsza część gothicka nie dyskryminując 1 są na równym poziomie, lecz 2 troszkę bardziej mi się podobała. Najlepsza z gier jaka kiedykolwiek powstała jednym minusem jest fakt, że nie jest po Polsku (na steamie ). Patrząc na tę grę widzicie słabą grafikę ,ale grafika się w tej grze nie liczy. Wybierając wersję pudełkową lub na steama doradzam pudełkową jeśli nie znacie dokładnie100/100 najlepsza część gothicka nie dyskryminując 1 są na równym poziomie, lecz 2 troszkę bardziej mi się podobała. Najlepsza z gier jaka kiedykolwiek powstała jednym minusem jest fakt, że nie jest po Polsku (na steamie ). Patrząc na tę grę widzicie słabą grafikę ,ale grafika się w tej grze nie liczy. Wybierając wersję pudełkową lub na steama doradzam pudełkową jeśli nie znacie dokładnie języka . Nie ocenie tej gry za język bo widocznie to nie wina gry, że nie jest po Polsku na steamie tylko samego steama , że zapomnial o Polskich graczach i świetnej Polskiej wersji :E

Pocit, když každý rok probíhám od Xardasovi věže na Lobartovu farmu, je jako žádný jiný. Je naprosto úžasný. Když člověk vidí tu naoko neuvěřitelně příjemnou texturu, když má možnost opět majznout banditu, který držkuje po cestě, když oběhne krvavé mouchy, ukradne almužny určené pro boha Innose a naláká hladového vlka k Melethovým ovcím. Do toho všeho zpěv ptáků, chrastění při každém kroku a hudba, která hladí na duši. Tento relaxující pocit prožívám vždy při opětovném stisknutí tlačítka „Nová hra“ v hlavním menu.

    Bohužel. V dnešních meřítcích je tato hra mnohými již zapomenuta. Komunita se každým dnem zmenšuje a žádný podmět typu „Gothic 5“ není. Při dnešních měřítcích jsme hold už staří – jak hráči této hry, tak hra samotná. Třeba jednoho dne se dočkáme toliko vytouženého pokračování. Tato série je jedním z nejlepších RPG, bohužel již ne dnešní doby. Není tolik nesmrtelná, jako Diablo, či The Elder Scrools. Je to tím, že není ani v dost opečovávaná.

    Nyní mou osobu prosím omluvte. Jdu vysvětlit Sentenzovi neexistující rozdíl mezi jeho prdelí a obličejem, přičemž mu rozhodně nedám jeho 50 zlatých.

Just be careful; the game will hold your hand for a grand total of five seconds before booting you into a world where all of the local fauna have it out for you and will absolutely WRECK you if you aren't familiar with the somewhat clunky combat system. It gets easier later on but the challenge is always there. Don't be scared though; the danger just makes exploring that much more rewarding.… Expand

Storia interessante, tantissime quest, luoghi da esplorare, segreti e oggetti da scoprire, il tutto farcito con una difficoltà piuttosto alta, ma di cui troppi GDR al giorno d'oggi sono privi. Ci metterete un po' a familiarizzare con i sistemi di gioco e di combattimento, ma una volta presa la mano non vi sarà poi complicato sapervi gestire.Uno dei migliori GDR a cui io abbia mai giocato.     Me ha pasado como en gothic1, y es que al ejecutar gothic2 me da el error Access Violation. Para solucionarlo he aplicado la misma solución que en gothic1

    1.-Bajarse el parche 2.6 (el que viene con steam creo que es el 2,7(eng)), a si que he desactualizado :(
    2.-Crear un acceso directo de gothic2.exe al escritorio.

    Despues de esto, he podido jugar pero los textos no se cargaban. Para solucionar lo de los textos he echo lo siguiente.

    En la carpeta: steamSteamAppscommonGothic II_workDataScriptsCONTENTCUTSCENE
    he renombrado los siguientes ficheros:

    -Out.dat lo renombramos por: Out.bin
    -Out.lsc lo renombramos por: Out.csl

    It's just what made Gothic I amazing and much more. The controls have been fixed, graphics are better, and the story is even more complicated. Some old friends are back, and you make new ones along the way. What's best you can play Gothic II without ever playing the prequel; you might miss on some easter eggs and whatnot, but you may also play the protagonist as if he had lost his memory,It's just what made Gothic I amazing and much more.     Thank you Piranha Bytes for creating this masterpiece! Unfortunately, i didn't have a manage to play Gothic II in my childhood or at least more later, because if i did, it would be too much nostalgy rather i gain after finishing the game. Special thanks for OST and atmosphere, and RPG-system, and, of course, the plot in every single quest! Best game i ever played!

Absolutely insane what small dev team managed to create, it's sad that we will probably never see a game like this again since even Piranha Bytes don't know how to make a game like this anymore. :(

Great story, great world, great combat system (melee as well as ranged and magic too), great mysterious and adventurous atmosphere, great leveling/improving system, great thing is limited number of weapons (like about 30 of every kind, not thousands like in Skyrim, which you cant remember).     It was summer 2006. I could spend all day playing. Music, characters and so on created unique atmosphere in which i plunged with joy. It was magic i'd say:)

    I picked up this game again in 2020, during the pandemia and it has given me already dozens of hours of nostalgia, but also of truly refreshing gameplay.. The mechanics are old, very old, but sound and I know of no other RPG that has such a visible progression system. The protagonist does not simply learn new skills and magic with lp investment, but also visibly changes combat and evenI picked up this game again in 2020, during the pandemia and it has given me already dozens of hours of nostalgia, but also of truly refreshing gameplay.. The mechanics are old, very old, but sound and I know of no other RPG that has such a visible progression system. The protagonist does not simply learn new skills and magic with lp investment, but also visibly changes combat and even general movement given the proper skill points in weapon fighting, strength, dexterity etc..

    Never again in any other game (except maybe the newer PB games, Elex..) have I started so close to the actual skill level of the majority of gamers in front of the screen (getting beating up just wanting to enter a bar and anywhere anytime.. ) and ended so overpowered..
    The graphics can be updated, I discovered several modding projects and choose to play with the new DX11 renderer and the large overhaul mod Returning.. Beyond nostalgia, it's looking fresh again and so modded, even provides a newer and thrilling gaming experience in 2020, while still keeping the old charme..    … Expand

    Gothic 2 is a worthy sequel to the first game, with a more detailed world and more polished controls, Gothic 2 is an immersive RPG game. It's hindered unfortunately by it's difficulty, which is flat out unfair at times. Still, it continues the story well and has a great twist at the end that sets up the events of Gothic 3.

Some people complain about the combat's clunkiness (yes, this is true to some extent), but it was highly rewarding, intense, and fair. But something about this game just did not let me toss it away...It was fun to play. Some people complain about the combat's clunkiness (yes, this is true to some extent), but it was highly rewarding, intense, and fair. If you are fighting a low-level human in the beginning, both you and your opponent will have low-level movesets. Yet, the battle will require a soulsborne level of concentration, because YOU can kill him in 3-4 hits, and the same is applied to you. You can not just hold the right button to maintain block, it works like a parry: once you get used to the timing, everything will flow perfectly. You can hit once or twice, block, or dodge backwards. Then, after having defeated your adversary, you will earn a well-deserved exp, and this feeling is priceless. Progression is well-balanced and influential, quests and combat make their contribution equally. This game delivers truly pleasant feels when you earn exp, and I respect that immensely.
    The game has basically myriads of cool features in its every aspect that help you get immersed. If you level up your sword skills, you will have new, cooler movesets with longer combinations and a gigachad stance that makes you feel badass. The nights are really dark and creepy: getting lost in the forests that are densely filled with wolves and other beasts that can tear you apart is a unique experience. It is not easy to run away from enemies: you either face your death with honor or learn to run with zigzags. Humans loot you if you are knocked unconscious; they will draw their swords and warn you if you dont sheath your weapon. If you have chosen the path of fire mages, basically everyone starts to respect you, and otherwise will be different. This game is well-crafted and elaborate, therefore it is very replayable.
    Exploration is probably the best part of Gothic 2. There are many hidden secrets with precious loot scattered all over the map. You will never think smth like "Oh, this is garbage!" when finding loot: everything can contribute to the journey.
    Music is perfect for the game's atmosphere, there is nothing to talk about it.
    The only drawbacks are that the story and setting are generic, and you sometimes need to walk long distances, because the character moves slowly and there is no fast travel, only runes for teleportation between major locations that are found in the middle of the game.
    Gothic 2 is an underappreciated jewel of rpgs, definitely recommended :)    … Expand

    .Es simplemente un juegazo, mejora la jugabilidad del uno y lo que quita de ese lo reemplaza con otra cosa ,aunque la historia era genérica me gustó el echo de que los orcos invadieran una zona gracias a unos amigos por decirlo así, jugad al juego para saber a lo que me refiero.

Sin embargo la fuerza de los enemigos no es ficticia debido a su nivel sino que respetan las mismas reglas para todos los enemigos y npc como para el protagonista por lo que con un poco de suerte y siendo jugadores habilidosos podemos derrotar a enemigos superiores aunque sea complicado.

    Cada misión, objeto, enemigo, etc está en el mundo por algo y somos nosotros los que decidimos a que reto nos enfrentamos o a que localización nos dirigimos sin que nadie nos limite por muros invisibles de nivel o de zonas del mapa bloqueadas. Y cuando subimos un nivel, encontramos un arma que causa un 10% más de daño y somos capaces de portarla nuestro cerebro se acuerda de ese enemigo que nos vapuleó en el pasado y cuando regresamos y lo pateamos el culo transmite a la perfección la sensación de que nuestro héroe es cada vez más poderoso y si hacemos todo lo que el juego ofrece llegaremos al final del juego en modo dios, lo cual, a mi por lo menos, me encanta.

    Visualmente sigue siendo bonito incluso 20 años después de su lanzamiento y su sonido y música son magistrales. Hay gente que acusa su "torpe" sistema de combate pero para mí este juego enseñó a dark souls o a the witcher como se hace un videojuego y, si aún así te sigue pareciendo tosco y difícil, Git Gud noob XD.

    Actualmente se puede conseguir este juego por 1 euro en infinidad de plataformas de venta digital de videojuegos y sigue siendo una apuesta totalmente recomendable para los amantes de los rpg occidentales y de los videojuegos en general.

    Para poner la guinda al pastel, la historia es soberbia, los npc que en teoría son tus amigos realmente lo son y te alegras de verles, ayudarles y ellos te devuelven siempre la ayuda en forma de enseñanzas, dinero o palabras amables mientras que a cualquiera que te caiga mal siempre puedes apalearlo, sólo 4 o 5 npc son inmortales y eso es debido a que si murieran no podrías terminar el juego.

    I have a difficulty to understand the hype around this game; while it has a free gameworld, a lot of skills, and huge roleplaying options it simply does not have the "soul" to speak about, rather a kind of bleak, "middleage" generic setting, too slow, boring storyline, uninteresting characters. Not a bad game for sure, not a legendary one either.

    Masterpiece game. Great story, excellent memorable characters and beautiful graphics. Also the RPG system is great, from the beginning you are very weak and cant kill pack of wolves, at the end of the game you can kill dragons, very rewarding.

    One of the best rpg games ive played. It may have had some bugs, but nowadays with community patches, and some HD mods you can make this game a joy. Game was really immersive and lack of handholding in this game makes experience or achieving certain goals, mysteries very rewarding.
    I first tried gothic 1 and 2 only last summer and i wish i did play them earlier.

    Die Fortsetzung eines Meisterwerkes und leider auch der Höhepunkt der Reihe. Ich habe es unzählige Male durchgespielt und erinnere mich immer noch gut daran, wie ich mitten in der Nacht irgendwelche Wälder und Höhlen zu erkunde und einfach nicht ins Bett gehen kann.

    Even better than a first part. I love to wander through the woods at night with that excelent music and ambient sounds. And end up in the stomach of the shadow beast. :D
    Compared to the first episode, the combat system is much more polished. Atmosphere even darker than in the first episode.     In fact, it got worse in terms of the pacing of the character's progression. Really the pacing was much worse. In the early 2nd game you're thrust into a big city without any direction on what to do.

    You're just told to go and press x, y and z. However, when you try to find clues on how to do the main missions, the game literally leaves you alone to figure it out for yourself. Now this is incredibly frustrating, especially for a new player.

    Do I have to talk to every NPC in town hoping that they can tell me something useful about even the smallest things in the game? I understand the open world gameplay and logic, but the player still needs some guidance.

    If the game isn't going to try and draw me in with its story, why should I keep going, hoping that it will get interesting in the end? It's just that it's incredibly slow at the beginning and you'll soon lose interest in the game. In short, even if you have some free time, stay away from Gothic 2 just like the first game.    … Expand

    You know why I still love this game even 20 years after its release? Cause the developers piranha bytes put so much effort in creating an amazing atmosphere. I feel as a part of the world playing it. NPCs in skyrim and the witcher 3 just going from point a to point b doing some stuff. If you watch them for a few minutes youll see: its all just random incohorent behaviour. In gothic everyYou know why I still love this game even 20 years after its release? In gothic every npc has his dayli routine. The blacksmith wakes up in the morning, doing his smith work and after that he drinks a few beer at the tavern.     **** amazing game if you are interested in an oldschool RPG. Even better if you have played the first one. And some of the negativ reviews here are just **** sorry. i Played this game like 10 times for shure. And it has an amazing story, with Friendships and heroic moments. if you dont mind too much about the outdated grafics start with gothic 1 and then play gothic 2. Forget about 3 and**** amazing game if you are interested in an oldschool RPG. Even better if you have played the first one.     I can not decide which is better GOTHIC 1 or GOTHIC 2, first one is a great game but second one is more mysterious! - 8/10

    One of my favorite game. At the time the graphics were actually good. The atmosphere, stories and humor is really good. I see myself going back to this every couple years. Theres also a big mod community around it.

Offers some quite memorable moments in any game (like its predecessor) and is a truly open-world RPG in the same sense as Elden Ring for instance, not a sandbox-RPG hybrid nonsense that people have seen in recent times, whichEasily one of the best RPGs of all time. Oozes character and awesomeness at every step thanks to its decent story, interesting world and great overall atmosphere. Offers some quite memorable moments in any game (like its predecessor) and is a truly open-world RPG in the same sense as Elden Ring for instance, not a sandbox-RPG hybrid nonsense that people have seen in recent times, which tend to offer less satisfying experiences for me (like modern Assassins' Creed games, for instance). Exploring this world is one of the most pleasant memories of my childhood gaming that I keep with me...… Expand

    Gothic II is mindblowing and (in my opinion) one of the best sequels ever made. It exceeds its predeccessor in nearly every single matter. This is certainly the best game they ever did. Thank you Piranha Bytes!

    This game time is artificially prolonged by ridiculous amounts of difficulty. The clunky and unresponsive control scheme is bad enough, but you start so weak that you're forced to do a lot of mindless leveling up before you can do anything interesting.
