Sep 22, 2020Gnomes & Goblins started out so well and would have easily suited that style for another hour, providing a short entertaining experience. Instead what’s been presented is a piece of content with two distinctly different sides, the latter trying to flesh out the former with inconsistent gameplay which waters down the charm. If you pick up Gnomes & Goblins enjoy the beginning sequence and then replay, just don’t go any further.

Nov 13, 2020I'm hopeful that the Gnomes & Goblins developers can address these performance issues quickly. There's still a lot of design work that needs to be addressed if they want this game to be as great as its concept. Until then, Gnomes & Goblins is little more than a stuttering tech demo that doesn't capture the imaginative concept it so desperately craves to be.

Oct 1, 2020Gnomes & Goblins delivers a delicious appetizer but is spoiled by a rotten main course. After a lovely little prologue, the game opens up into a beautiful world with frustratingly little gameplay direction which is likely to drive players away rather than bring them back for more. To enjoy the game's best aspect—its visuals—you'll need a hefty rig; be sure to check the Minimum and Recommended specs before considering Gnomes & Goblins.
