The game was well worth the wait. It is even more amazing than what I've expected.
The visuals are breathtaking, the amount of custom animations and the amount of dialogue lines is staggering. The various sound tracks truly immerse you into the atmosphere of this world.
It does have small bugs here and there, but nothing game breaking. It's something to be expected of a 3 man indie

Despite this, the interaction design is very intuitive making the game easy to navigate, and allowing the player to be absorbed by the story, and the puzzles vary from suspiciously straight forward, to cryptic messages that challenge the adventurer in you.

The characters are overall pretty great, the cat is super fun with her snarky attitude and the whole cast is interesting enough. The story has up and downs: mostly great, with some very nice moments where you're really drawn into the mistery - but at times - rarely - feels a little rushed and a bit tacky (the Transylvanian castle part). But most of the times it works, it's compelling and you want to keep playing to see what's behind the corner.
Voice acting is a mixed bag. Some very good, other not that great and at times there are some volume discrepancies, but overall it's a decent job.
The puzzles. Well, the game is very easy. The puzzles are all logical to the point that it's really hard to end stuck somewhere in this game. I personally don't mind a low challenge in P&C games, but if you do, know that's it's really easy and not a challenge at all.

Overall: amazing game from a small studio. It's incredible what they achieved with so few people and at their first gaming development experience. This is how you should do P&C games. Can't wait to see their next projects.

A must buy for all P&C adventure fans.

In once sentence; This game was fun!

The dialogue was funny and the game was engaging, mysterious, aesthetically perfect, and at times it was challenging. For those who don't know, this game is a point and click adventure with a comedic attitude and a Lovecraftian theme.

I really enjoyed playing this game. The animations are super nice and the cat is really sarcastic. Puzzles are not too hard in most cases but that's alright in my opinion.

Utterly charming and fun and harking back to the glory days of Lucasarts and even Infocom. Still playing, and most of the time with a silly grin of nostalgia on my face. The puzzles aren't the hardest, some of the voice acting isn't exactly prize winning, but putting that at the top is just criticism for criticism sake. EDIT: having now finished, I sadly have to take down the score. The game seemed to run out of steam or seemed incomplete. The rap scene... ugh. The ending... couldn't seemingly make up its mind whether it was supposed to be profound and moving or teasing a sequel or what. Still overall good fun, but bit of a letdown at the end.

If anyone was paid anything to do any of the voice acting in this game, they were paid far, far too much. Microsoft Sam could give a more moving, human performance.

If you're deaf and want to know that you're definitely not missing out, this might be the game for you.

I think it should have differentiated itself a bit in this regard from good ol' Monkey Island and DOTT. Maybe take a bit of inspiration from Sierra Games too in the future, a few side quests maybe. Also, despite the rather large number of locations, they seem strangely disconnected in a way, like the game is split into 7 smaller games.

All in all, it is a great game, especially from a TINY (3 people) debut indie company but you can kinda tell they ran out of money at one point. Still, they did a great job with what they had.

I really really wanted this game to be good and unfortunately it’s not.

The graphics are amazing both for their technical execution but for the art direction too. But unfortunately that’s where the good elements of the game end. The writing is not good at all, the plot is suffering, puzzles are simple and the voice acting is uneven. It’s really a pitty because I really had high hopes

It’s also a pity because indeed the devs seem to have put much love to the title.

Bad game. It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for all the lies the devs had been telling about what this game was going to be. It's an OK game at most.

It doesn't feel like Lovecraft at all, lame jokes, reference overdose, rap battles, missing cutscenes, visual bugs, week plot, **** ending... and don't get me started on the voice acting... The best of this game can be seen in

This game is a super "meh" from me. We all know the overall quality of the P&C games has been very low for the past years, and this is not a bad game, but it's just another one... maybe a little above average, mostly because the art is stunning. The gameplay, the voice acting, the puzzles, the dialogues... are super amateur. (The end will disapoint you guaranteed). They should do animation movies.

I've read some positive reviews before buying it and, ignored the negative ones. Most complains where about the voice acting and I don't really care about those things, much less from an Indie.

I would say that about 70% of the script of this game are either references or quotes from somewhere else. Whoever compares this game with any Lucas title clearly never played a Lucas title.

The puzzles are simple, it takes about a minute to figure out each one, except a couple of badly designed ones.

If you never played a point-and-click or you are 6 Year old or under, maybe you'll enjoy it.

The only thing Gibbous and Monkey Island have in common is that both games are on Steam. When I hear that a game it's like Lucasarts, I get excited and, when I see it's just marketing and lies and, they don't deliver I get pissed off. BIG TIME!

Quoting the guy that gave them a 10, Do yourself a favor and play something else ... like Lamplight City or Unavowed.

The devs clearly are very talented in visual design as the graphics are amazing. Other than that there‘s not much else positive to say. The story meanders and is predictable, the puzzles are so easy it‘s not even funny and the high number of audio lines/dialogue/monologue the devs boasted about before release especially feel like a waste of resources as most of those have the quality of "Tick, Tock" when looking at a clock or "it looks, well, ancient" when interacting with an ancient armoire.

The game is divided into chapters and most of those only have a handful of locations, meaning even if the devs had tried it would‘ve been pretty hard to implement a few more challenging puzzles.

If you‘re looking for a pretty point‘n’click adventure with an uninspired story and the difficulty of a Telltale title you can give Gibbous a shot. Most fans of the genre will probably end up as disappointed of the game as I am though.

As a standard, run-of-the-mill adventure game I might recommend it. It does a decent job of that. But I wanted "A Cthulhu Adventure" and was instead served up nothing of the sort. At most, the final hour of the game is Lovecraftian but the rest, sadly, is not. For this reason, I'm disappointed and do not recommend playing it.

An incredibly good modern adventure game that sets off in various noir-themed scenaries from around the world (including the devs' hometown) which are very well ambiented and very immersive, with a beautiful graphical style, incredibly good dub and some incredibly funny voice lines, very recommended.

It is a good effort and visuals are actually beyond that. It has funny moments, but overall I would say it falls into the same pit as The Book of Unwritten Tales. If you make fun of clichés a central part of your narrative, I would expect you tobring something new to the table. I liked the references to Lovecraft and the wordplay involved.

I'd like to say that this game is an object lesson in the importance of not hiring bad voice actors to perform good dialogue. Unfortunately, it's an object lesson in the importance of not hiring the worst voice actors on the planet to perform very mediocre dialogue.

I’ve played my fair share of indie games, but few felt as polished as Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure. A great deal of care has gone into its production, and despite getting pretty dark and serious towards the end, the memorable characters kept me glued and did a fantastic job of propelling the story forward — in every aspect, it’s a fine introduction to the point-and-click genre also title worthy of any veteran.

Gibbous is worth your time if you are willing to overlook its numerous oddities and rushed narrative so you can enjoy a few brilliant game design ideas and marvel at the game’s outlandish sets. If Stuck in Attic sets out to create its second game, the studio should scale back its ambitions and definitely hire a professional screenwriter.

Gibbous is a great entry-level point-and-click adventure that has many of the base features of old classics as well as a few new tricks. It very much looks and feels (and even has the humour of such games) as Monkey Island and the like, but it does lack the ingenuity of the puzzles from those games.
