    started playing it since day one because i wanted to play BOTW but couldnt and thought this was similar enough. it is not. the two are totaly different games, each to their merit. i ended up stop playing it one year ago because i was sick of it and lets say the reputation that comes with being a genhin player isnt the best.

    anyways, the game is good. although not finished yet, it has a compelling story and a stunning world. if played in a casual manner, it is possible to have some fun playing the main and side quests, participating in live events and earning some currency to unlock a few of your favorite characters. the way i recommend playing is just doing quests and participating in events and thats it. no watching yt videos about the best builds for each character nor trying to max out on the abyss, which is arguably the hardest, lowest profitable challenge in the game. try to log in from patch to patch to see the new features
    the worst part about this game, as well as other gacha games, is that it makes the coolest characters the hardest to obtain, requiring daily grind of currencies which can make you highly addicted as it did to me years ago.
    in resume, play YOUR game and try not to get envolved in minmaxing your characters as i did, which ultimately led to me being sick of the game.    … Expand

    This game took me by surprise. I played it briefly during launch, but I'm having a pleasant surprise upon returning recently. It's extremely fun, with lots of quests and events to explore the different continents. The story is rich, engaging and immerses you in its content without needing to be deep or overly complex.

    People love to hate this game, and most of this people never gave it a chance.
    I was one of those people, until one day I was bored and decided to try it because why the hell not.
    One of my biggest regrets in life was not doing so sooner. I played A LOT of games, many of which acclaimed by the same people hating on Genshin, but this game will always be one of the best, if not THE best    People love to hate this game, and most of this people never gave it a chance.

    Many people will see the Gacha feature of Genshin as a big Issue, but in my oppinion it is just a way to slow down the pace of getting new characters. Nowadays i really like it to farm for the new Characters.

    The Map additions that came in the last three years are just great. Almost from every climate zone in the world there is a region for. Not only forest and mountains, also Ice hills, desert, cliffsregion, jungle and many more beautiful looking locations excist in this game.

    2.x相比于1.x而言是一次全面提升。如果说1.x只是达到了中国的3A游戏标准，那么2.x毫无疑问是世界级的3A游戏。

    首先谈一下进步最大的地图设计，1.x时代的地图大部分都停留在了平面水平，解密设计包括地图支线也比较直白，缺少糅合。龙脊雪山和海岛作为1.x时代唯二的新地图，是有肉眼可见的进步，但比起国际水准还是差上一些。到了稻妻，这一切有了翻天覆地的变化。所有地区基本上都是三维立体的，各种柳暗花明；谜题也开始变得有趣甚至有些还颇为挑战。然而最让我感到欣喜的是地图它终于为剧情服务了，从鸣神岛第一次尝试大地图支线神樱大祓，到八酝岛第一次尝试碎片化叙事，最后到鹤观的探索和雾海记行丝般顺滑的结合。至今我还能记得阿瑠最后的歌声。这还没完，渊下宫直接把碎片化叙事干到了接近宫崎老贼的水准，同时也把音乐制作进化到了3A的水平。之前的音乐虽然好听，但和游戏结合得还不算特别紧密，比如战斗和非战斗间的音乐其实是缺乏连贯性的。这次渊下宫的音乐就很好的解决了这个问题，基本上是一首曲子但在不同的时刻进行不同的变奏来适配不同的游戏场景。来到了层岩巨渊基本就是这一切的集大成者了，初次进入那一声马头琴直接就让我听酥了，然后随着岩层的深入，剧情也随之舒展，到了最深最暗处，剧场也达到了同样让人压抑的高潮（再也不杀丘丘人了）。大师之作，放眼寰宇，层岩巨渊都可以算得上上佳。最后到群岛，米哈游又玩起了新花样，那就是可重塑地图，每个海岛随着万叶小艾米莫娜的剧情深入也会随之改变形态，大大增加了可玩性。临末提一嘴海祇岛，景色是真的不错，有迪士尼风采。

    聊完地图音乐，来聊一下剧情和人物。这就不得不说神女劈观，这真的是给全世界人民带了了一些小小的中华传统戏剧震撼。剧情动画音乐结合得天衣无缝，那一声可叹直接让原神火出了圈。除此之外也提名几个让我回味无穷的传说人物：第一名将军大人，这应该是原神剧情上第一次展示人物成长：永恒还是须臾，影和真的故事十分让人唏嘘，神樱树的桥段也十分科幻；第二名神子，也是一个发刀子的剧情，百鬼夜行，伤心就只有一点点而已哦；第三名神里，谁能抗拒得了大小姐的湿袜子舞，剧末我也忍不住和旅行者一样哼起了曲。    … Expand

    Yes, it is a blatant rip-off of Breath of the Wild. Yes, it is a gacha game. And yes, it is good! There are so many other BOTW "rip-offs" (Immortals Fenyx Rising, etc), and yet this is the only one that gets it right. If it's so easy to make a fun game like this, why is every other studio failing at it? Also, Mona is hot. 10/10

    I think the main point I want to discuss is that while this game has gacha and in-game transactions, you are not ever locked out of open world content or quests because of a paywall. You can play the entire game without spending any money. The world levels as your characters do, so you are incapable of being locked due to underleveled characters. I am entirely free to play and I have acquired enough in game rewards to get 3 5-star characters and 2 5-star weapons and that is enough to last me the entire game. This game gets so much hate for its pricing when you can just not spend the money and just play an amazing game for free.

    There are 2 main issues though that stop me from giving a higher score, the first one being the cutscenes and dialogue. Some quests have great stories that I read through because of interesting characters and tension within the story, but some stories and quests are just awful and there is no way to skip dialogue fast. I get that they paid voice actors but I don't care and I just want to play the game. The second issue are the quests under the "story" header, because I have not enjoyed any of them and they mostly consist of boring copy and paste MMO challenges, and the boring stories I was talking about before, but they are occaisionally mandatory. There are some standard world quests that are way better than any of the story quests, and story quests are supposed to be important and have more effort from the developers put into them. Some of them unlock new bosses, but the mind slog to get there ruins the battle.

    The other topic I want to discuss is the spiral abyss and end-game content, I am not a completionist so I just stop playing the game after exploring everywhere I want to explore and doing every quest that is fun, so I never dealt with resin or daily commisions because I would just stop playing. I have acquired a ton of fragile resin that I am yet to deplete, and I only grinded domains a few times to make my 2 main dps over-leveled. I think grinding sucks, and I don't like how artifacts are random, which is my main gripe with the whole level system. i think what needs to be said more often is that the game has an end after each update, but its not clear because the game is still releasing. The end is when you have run out of fun stuff to do, you don't have to log in every day, you don't have to grind domains, because not doing them doesn't lock you out of exploring or doing quests. Which is why I can't justify bringing down the review more than a point, because the issue is completely optional, you aren't forced to deal with resin or daily commisions unlike so many other modern games. Resin can be seen as either a way to make people log on every day and build some sort of connection with the game so they end up spending money and I am sure that Mihoyo uses the system because of this, but I view it as a way to stop myself from exhausting the game before it has released its final update and completed the full map. Its a single player game and everything outside of spiral abyss wasn't designed to force you to grind.

    As of writing this, the game is midway through releasing the fourth of the seven main regions on the map, so by that number, the game is a little more than halfway completed. I played this game on release for a week, but the game didn't feel complete so I decided to leave it and maybe return if it got updates. 2 years later I saw the game had a condisderable amount of updates so I decided to download it again. The amount of content that had been released is incredible, it revived that feeling I got from playing Elden RIng earlier in the year, where the game just gets larger and larger even when you think you have explored everything. Finding Enkanomiya was such a massive **** moment for me, as-well as discovering the Chasm mines. I had no idea what they ahd added to the game outside knowledge about a japan themed electro area. The second time through was such a different experience and to anyone who played the game on release and dropped it due to getting bored, I highly recomend they pick it up again. The archon quests also had some significant improvements in their writing and tension, the final-boss/chapter for the electro area was incredibly well done, and my only complaint is that I can't repeat the quest.

    I hope this explains my high rating of a game that is constantly met with hateful reviews. It ultimately comes down to what type of person plays this game, some people despise the anime aesthetic, some people hate in-game transactions that are random, some people like to grind characters to max and then are punished by a daily reward system for wanting to play the game, and I just found it better to ignore these concepts and just play the main content of the game.    … Expand

    My girlfriend lured me into this game, before that I heard a lot from my friends who already had high ranks and thought that I wouldn’t go. However, I was wrong. The first thing I liked was the graphics and special effects. Smooth movements and style like Zelda riveted the eye. Further, the plot and lore of the game are not bad, but there are a lot of dialogues (Paimon's dialogues).     The world design and music are top notch, and let me just say that when it comes to music in my opinion no game has as many impressive tracks.     It's a good Gatcha Game to play :
    +Interesting mecanics and characters gameplay
    +Lot of Boss, chests and puzzles
    +All 4 stars and 5 can be play and find a usefull on teams compositions

    But It's not perfect :
    -Gatcha with a 50% lost the pitty, the worst part for F2P players
    -Multiplayer are useless and not very usefull (only for help news players or rush boss)

    Genshin is a pretty good game. I’m not sure if it’s the first game to put a gacha in an open world rpg but it does both well in my opinion. I started the game close to launch, dropped it for a bit, and picked it back up as I saw new characters that interested me. Have been playing consistently for a few months since.

    I think the story and quests are decently executed. Depending on your tastes the dialog can be a little bland. But the combat is where it shines. Combining elements of different characters to form reactions that augment your play by either increasing the damage you do, or protecting you from damage with shields is a cornerstone of the gameplay. There are many viable team comps for exploration and abyss and if you manage to pull a lot of characters it can be fun to try different combinations.

    A few gripes I have are with the content outside the abyss, which while mihoyo does update the game often with new content, can either be bland, or temporary. I can understand not wanting too much large scale permanent content for now, as the game hints at a possibility of at least 7 major zones (one for each of the seven elements in the game, and of which we have 3 as of version 2.6). However it is a little disappointing and it is nice to see some temporary events make reruns, such as the theater mechanicus. The main sources of endgame content are the aforementioned spiral abyss and exploring the open world to 100%. For those of us who have yet to 36 star the abyss and finish exploration, there is still motivation to play, but I can understand why people get burned out of it.

    Before I end this review I have to address the gacha. For the most part, I think the character gacha is mostly fair, as you can get a five star limited character guaranteed in less than 180 rolls. But obviously the problem is getting those rolls, right? Buying a welkin moon for 5 usd, which basically gets you 2700 primogems in 28 days, and the paid battle pass, combined with the star glitter and stardust you receive from wishing, can get you a decent amount of wishes, but depending on the events available it may or may not net you enough to guarantee the character you want. So I get peoples frustration. At the end of the day, this is a gacha game, but most of the four star characters are perfectly serviceable, and it’s really only recommended to pull for a five star if you like their aesthetic and play style. Story events provide opportunities to try out every single character in the game. One issue though, is reruns aren’t guaranteed to happen for every character, but as mihoyo has only relatively recently been doing double banners, it opens up the possibility for more reruns in the future.

    All in all I think Genshin is a fun game.     This game is great for people to play on their own and with friends the game is not locked behind a pay wall the story is great and it is better than it ever was before. The game looks so good and the controls for it being a mobile game is fantastic I highly recommend this game if you like rpgs.

Anyway you should give it a try, the game is free and extremely popular and very well appreciated except in user reviews, although those users are also playing it a lot (one of the most played games recently)...     I assume most people who rank the game negatively don't get the fact that it is a game that you are not supposed to play a lot 2 weeks and then leave, it's done to play maybe 10 hours a week for something like a year or two maybe. By doing that you will have too much content because there is new content almost every month, and a ton of daily and weekly events.

    I am not even into this type of game normally, I don't like farming games (things like Diablo for instance), but the open world is very beautiful, same for the music.

    In terms of quests, there is some nice (poetic ?) stuff, but I found a good amount of the quests quite boring so far, that's the most negative point for me, but I haven't finished the game so I can't blame that too much.

    Characters are cool, voices are nice, fighting system is really well done, the RPG side of the game as well, good balance also, a bit hard sometimes but never too much.

    The game is quite easy to run on a modest PC, and the multiplatform support is awesome. You can continue your game on your mobile exactly where you left on your PC, something I haven't seen much so far.    … Expand

    This Game is so beautiful, why Genshin gacha? I have some characters, but twist does not affect the game process, I get warmth and joy from the game without investing a single penny. Thank you very much miHoYo for such a wonderful game.

    On the Gacha system while it isn’t perfect, I think that Mihoyo gives you a good chance to get your Favourite character without needing to spend a dime. This makes the game very ‘free to play friendly’ (players who choose not to spend money on the game) especially when comparing to other Gacha games.
    Overall, the game is worth playing and the fact that it’s a Gacha game does not mean any money has to be spent to have fun while the devs are somewhat neglectful to update some characters e.g., Qiqi This does not change from the fact that any character within the game has the ability to do well (high damage/clear hardest part of the game    … Expand

    The best way I can describe it is "this is the 3d "Tales" game I always dreamed of," and I even beat Tales of Arise while playing it. The character designs and animations are gorgeous, the combat is extremely fun and better than ANY Tales or Tales spinoff, and it has all the min-maxing anybody could ever desire.

    Not only that but it updates internationally every other week with new things to do, and every 3 months with new land to explore. I'm amazed at how much work and craftsmanship is put into the game.

    Some gacha/mobile elements like energy to play the grindy part of the game (domains, aka dungeons) called resin can be frustrating, but they have added plenty to do when you're out of resin since the game launched and now I barely ever run out before I'm ready to stop playing anyway. All of the JRPG staples are here: combat, ingredient collecting, crafting, cooking, house/village building, gardening, fishing... There's also about 30 hours of real game before you ever need resin anyway. Progress can't always be made by barreling through the game, but I don't mind it.

    While I don't have much interest in the Chinese-theological theme of heavenly bureaucracies (which they reference a LOT especially in the second chapter) the story has been compelling enough, but more importantly coherent. The characters, world, and story all feel like they are designed by the same group of people. Many modern JRPGs feel like their writers never saw the game and the level designers never saw the characters and the character designers never read the script.

    I spend ~$20 a month on the game and have gotten nearly every character - 34/39! Each with very distinct playstyles and personalities. I don't feel the investment is at all necessary to enjoy the game though. With enough time you can get every character and weapon release for free. Yes it will take literal years - but they are absolutely not necessary to enjoy the game. They are just digital action figures to use on a digital playset. As I said, people like to pretend Genshin Impact is only a gacha, but the gacha is 10% of the game's value. The other 90% of it is a lovingly crafted Zelda BotW and Tales-series clone.

    I have only seen the quality of the game improve since it launched, and I am excited to see where else the game takes me. If you are looking for an adventure, I highly recommend this game.    … Expand

    This game is great in general, yes there are some complaints about the anniversary rewards but other than that id 100% recommend it. Its has free roam, quests u can do and bosses u can fight. This game has kept me busy for months and is truly addicting. :D

    Other than that the story is pretty good, graphics look nice, and the soundtrack is stellar. The characters are very likable as well, and their "character quests" are some of the best quests in the game.

    One glaring issue that the game does have, though, is that it's a gacha game. First of all, this means any new character is unlocked through lootboxes. If you're a free to play player, you will gradually unlock lootboxes through normal gameplay and be able to unlock more and more characters, but you'll never be able to unlock every single character you want. This, though, isn't really a problem since you'll have more than enough characters to use in your team - you just won't have all of them.

    The real issue with the gacha is that it will limit how much stronger you can make your characters per day (this includes simply levelling them up). In the beginning of your journey this won't be a problem since there's plenty of exploring & questing to do outside of just training your characters. Eventually though, you'll run out of content and training your party is the only thing you'll have left to do, but you can only actually do so for around 10 minutes a day. The game will try to keep you hooked with a constant stream of events that give decent rewards to strengthen your team a bit faster.

    I give this game a 9 for how incredible the main game is with its satisfying exploration and combat system, but be aware that once you have explored most of the world and completed all of the main & side quests, you won't have anything left to do but grind and the game will turn into a daily slog. I recommend you to play every big content update as they come out, and just ignore all of the grinding and min-maxing you can do - since it's a tedious daily grind.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. first of all its fun to see all this review of people that played one day at day one and give zero, pretty funny, so i am at level 56 in the game playing this game for a little bit less then a year at this point and the game is great it have probably the best open world i ever saw the elemental mechianics are awesome and the characaters are all so unique and well characterized, but i am sure you guys want to know what people think about the paying part.
    basically the game turn around a 5$ montly subscription and another 12$ battelpass every 45 days if u really want to play the game this 2 things are the must buy, there is nothing to do its something u have to buy if u want to really play this game the gems pack are totally skippable but for a free to play game that gives hundreds of playing hours for me is not a big deal since there are games that give you 8 hours of gameplay and they cost 80$ so if you are like me, an adult with a work and who can understand a company makes the games for gain and not for be the hero that give games around, the ticket price of this game compared to the hours of fun it can give is great and not comparable to most of the triple a games around cuz this game on pc its a triple a game.

Вам-то пофиг, вы играть не будете, но не будьте эгоистами, дайте возможность играть тем, кому нравятся персонажи, кому нравится мир и принимают его несмотря на то, что мало примогемов завезли. Я очень люблю своих вайфу, только недавно собрал пачку мечты (Эола, Джинн, Райдэн, Мона (все с0 и без легендарных пушек), но жаловаться на урон просто грех) и я не хочу лишаться возможности играть из-за кучки зажравшихся остолопов. В вас и так весь год вливали примогемы тоннами, с квестов, с ежедневок, с ачивок, бездны и постоянных ивентов (блин, да чтоб во всех играх так часто вводили какие-нибудь новые прикольные ивенты (да, некоторые весьма простые, по типу убийства пачки врагов, но опять же, игроки разные и пытаются угодить многим, кому-то сложно, кому-то легко (мне вот рыбалка даётся тяжело, не ною же). И ко всему этому весьма скромный ценник на благословение (на треть дешевле месячной подписки WoW) (боже, игроки в 2021 году ещё не привыкли к тому, что за всё нужно платить, либо довольствоваться меньшим чем хочется).

    В качестве последнего слова. Ребят, не будьте эгоистами, вы всё равно удалите игру, если считаете, что разрабы заслужили такую оценку. Но зачем обрушивать её ещё сильнее? Уйдите спокойно, хотя бы ради тех людей, с которыми вам доводилось в геншин играть и чтобы они могли продолжить радоваться этой игре. Some dude said that he reached Adventure Rank 38 and that he was endgame (XD) but the grinding starts when you reach AR 45, when you start paying attention to stats and Artifacts, the ones that let you do real damage and challenge endgame features, like Spiral Abyss (a kind of endless dungeon that resets every 15 days).
    Let's say "bad things": Of course we are talking that this game has gacha features, so there will be characters that you won't be able to get in the short term, but the more common characters that you will use are almost the same in terms of raw damage and being fun to play. So, if you like just to explore and battle doing elemental reactions, and don't mind getting all the d*mn characters in the game, we just get (considering is free to play with these gacha features) one of the top 3 games of 2020, and being one of my favourite options in 2021. Don't rate as a 10 because of course everybody will want to get a 5 star character, 'cause of exclusiveness or whatever, so the game has a system that every 90 wishes you do, you will always get a 5 star before the 91st wish, which i think is great when you compare it to other gacha games. Of course is an anime-styled game, so people may not be so eager to play something like this, and is completely understandable, so it's not for everyone.

    The gacha system is expensive. If you want to pay for a 5-star character, you need to spend ~$200 in general, or you might need to save 2 months of in-game rewards. The gacha system also somehow ruins the immersion. In general games, you can build up relationships with characters. The game will reward you by giving them as playable characters. But in gacha games, you don't. You might unlock characters in gacha even you have no idea who he/she is. You might also want some character because you have a good time with him in the story, but the game says no due to the stupid RNG generator.
    The progression system is really bad for hard-core players. Everything requires resin, or stamina if you want to call it. You need them to level up your character. You need them to level up your items. You need them to earn in-game currency. Without it, your exploration in the game does little to the progression. Of course, you can stay in the open world, go around different places, enjoy the scene, and kill some enemies, just like the end game of Breath of the Wild. But it is still annoying. Since there is actually a lot of things the game persuades you to do, but it also forces you to stop. If you want to get a better experience, then pay for it. Unfortunately, this is the natural logic of F2P games that can never be get rid of.

    Then why do I still give it 9/10? The simple answer is the overall quality of this game is too good to ignore the cons.
    The scene is good. The music is awesome. The combat is fun. The open world design is impressive. And all those contents are actually for free. Believe it or not, the best part of this game is not the expensive character, not the more expensive weapon, but the free content. Sometimes I do not understand why this game gives us its best for free but charges us a lot for the worst. For anyone who wants to enjoy this game, you do not need to pay a single dime, literally. The 5-star characters and weapons are expensive, but you do not need any of them. The game will give you a decent amount of 4-star characters, and those are no less fun than any overpriced 5-star. Exploration in the open world, puzzles and mini-games, and a not-bad storyline are already better than many games that cost you $60. There is no reason I do not recommend this game.    … Expand

    resin system:
    for those who don't know, resin is what allows you to collect rewards from bosses and various challenges. Most of these rewards cannot be farmed elsewhere, with a few exceptions. At capacity, you have 160 resin. Bosses take up 40, some weekly bosses take 30, and other challenges take 20. As a late game player, (AR 56, halfway to 57), my experience is that using up all of the daily resin + the daily tasks, commissions, takes roughly an hour to an hour and a half. If you need a lot of a certain material, it can be inconvenient, which, yeah, i get that. However, giving a whole game 0-1/10 because of THAT is petty and immature to me. In my opinion, I like the resin system. I think it helps the game stay balanced in that no one can grind for a really long time to be lightyears ahead of the general playerbase. It also, for me at least, makes sure I'm not at my computer for 48 hours straight. I feel like its a healthy amount of time to play. Not to say, that the things you use resin for are the only thing you can do in Genshin. Far from it, actually. There's frequent events, a housing system, and a gigantic world to explore. There's no need to rush things.
    Secondly, the gacha rates:
    I would like to clarify that I have made it my personal goal to get every character in the game. My reasoning for this is personal and I will not discuss it. However, that said, Genshin is by NO means a pay to win game. Every character, including the starter characters, are good. It genuinely just depends on how you build them. Five star characters are nice, yes, but in the meta, they aren't much better than any of the four stars or starter characters you can get. I will fight ANYONE on this. You by no means have to get a 5 star character or weapon to be good at and enjoy this game. You could complete all the game has to offer at the time of this review without ever pulling on a banner.
    I feel like the people complaining about the gacha rates have never played a gacha game before. Genshin is EXCEEDINGLY generous for a gacha game. The currency needed is not hard to earn by playing the game, through exploration, events, achievements, etc etc. As someone who has spent a sizable sum of money on this game, however, I do have to admit that buying the currency needed for the gacha is pretty costly. However, please again consider that this is entirely optional, and through the currency you obtain in-game you will most likely pull at LEAST one five-star by AR35.
    As a personal side note, I do not recommend attempting to get every character in game, like I have. I have my reasons, which are very personal, but I do not recommend anyone do the same. Keep in mind your party size in game is only 4, and its not very likely that you're going to use every character that you get. (from personal experience)

    Genshin is a stunning game. It has a beautiful world and lore, and characters that are just. excellent.
    The combat system is easy to learn, but takes a bit of time to master. It's fast paced and rewards players that have read into character skills/ taken the time to build a character. The environments are incredibly fun to explore, and personally it's one of my favorite parts of the game. The periodic updates to the map and the additions of events and characters gives me something to look forward to. However, if you're the type that gets frustrated when the entirety of the game isn't out at once, I wouldn't be able to recommend Genshin to you yet. Only 3 of the 7 regions are out as of me writing this review. Despite this, though, there is never really a lack of content. Events are frequent and new features are added all the time. My personal favorite is the teapot, because I can spend hours decorating my little home and farming the serotonin I get when I make it look nice. :)

The story in this game isn't finished as it updates every 6 weeks with new regions, places, bosses, characters, events, minigames,... There is definitely filler updates but releasing a new region every 6 weeks is impossible to do so i think those filler updates are quite necessary for the developers + they're pretty fun too even though they aren't big updates. They know how to keep players busy but don't force anything onto you, you don't HAVE to do anything rather everything is optional, even world level (which makes the enemies stronger inside your world) requires the players to manually activate it and is reversable. Brilliant game, brilliant storyline, beautiful graphics and regions and free too. 10/10, haven't had another game that could keep me interested and not get boring for me.… Expand

So I have to explicitly point out that this is a F2P game and if your desire to min/max is so strong, then pay the ridiculous amount of money to min/max ALL characters (again NOT NEEDED). It feels unfair to give a 0 or 1 based on constellation/refine. I do agree that it is frustrating to not be able to have character X or Y due to in-game currency being locked out (but, again, it is a F2P game). Regarding "energy" limit, people seem to think time-gate is bad... I think a bit of it (not saying Genshin has the perfect amount) is GREAT... cause it keeps people from grinding the game and finishing it in 24hrs.

    Genshin can be played in different ways. You can grind and max out chars to see big dmg numbers, you can spend hours exploring (like Skyrim, which costs money btw), you can dive deep into intricate lore with meaningful side quests (like MMOs, again... money). You can casually play and slowly build up a good team FOR FREE while exploring the current patch/zone (in a seasonal manner, much like PoE). This game is GOOD and can be played casually. Don't let min/max culture keep you away from trying the game.

    Regarding the grind aspect, Genshin was designed so that you could spend a lot of time on it (much like WoW, FF14, MOBAs) and it is something to consider if you want to farm some types of in-game currency. But I play it like PoE, a seasonal think. The third MAIN zone has just been out and there is more than 100 hours of game (basic exploration, main quest, and side characters story quest) to be done. So, I'll again just make it clear:

    You don't f****** need ALL legendary characters to get AND/OR max constellation/refine on itens to play this game. It is mostly single-player. Nobody, but you, will see how much dmg you do.

    Nobody cares. You should just care to see if you can beat the challenge. And, nowadays, it is GOOD that some challenges take time. People want to buy a game and beat it as fast as possible to jump to another game. Just be chill/casual and juggle between a few games. Genshin can be one of those games for the price of 0 dollars.

    Yes, it is not that good, if you never played such game (like i say, most japanese MMOs, all korean MMOs, and almost every single mobile games). In fact compared to other mobil games ( just remember, its in fact a mobil game with cross play function), the small pitty for 90 draws, where you get a random 5 star garantieed, and according to the survy, most people will reach this pitty between 70-80th draw.

    Alright even 70-80 sounds terrible right? that means you need about 200 bucks for a random 5 star (50% to be the pick up one), or 400 bucks for the pick up one if you had bad luck. But lets think about the free crystals you can get. Approximatly you get about 6000 crystals each version, and genshin updates every 40 days (its basically 2 banners, each for 20 days). So without paying anything, you get 6k crystals every 40 days as long as you just spend about 10min each day for dailies, and doing all campains ( either 4-7 hours for the whole champain, or about 30min everyday during champain). In addition to it, you get about 10k crystals each major area, where you have 3 currently plus 1 time limited and only gives about 2k. So lets say, join the game play the first month and paying nothing will give you about 36k crystals, which is more than 220 draws. If you willing to pay a little bit for it, get the monthly subscription which costs 5 bucks every 30 days, grant you 100 crystal every day and 300 genesis crystal (the currency where you can only get buy paying real money, used to exchange 1:1 to crystal or buy some packages/skin from cash shop), even more you can get a battle pass for each version, which costs you extra 10 bucks and gives you 5 draws (800 crystal) for time limited banner and 5 for normal as well as 680 crystals and tons of resources. So paying about 15 bucks you can get almost a pitty every month considering the 5 monthly free draws from shop and most people get thier pitty between 70-80.

    So what do you get from gacha? Either Powerful and/or cute/sexy waifus. But the game is completely playable even you dont draw a single charactor (there are people doing this way as challenge), you just need some player skills and spend a bit more time when fighting boss.

    And those complaining about "Pay to play daily", they meaning the rensin system, oh yes, you get about 180 rensin regen for each day, those daily activities costs you either 20 or 40 each time when you want to claim the prize. And you can spend up to 900 crystals every day for 300 extra rensin, if you whale it, bringing you tons of more trash relics and about 300 extra exp, which means almost nothing if you plan to play long with it (since the game is softly capped after lv55, and even not spending a single coin on it, you get at least 50 moons from main quests result in 3k extra rensin, and you can hit lv55 within 3 month buy just doing the daily and use your daily 180 rensin). So in some way, it is pay to play long, but even if you whale, you cant play it the whole day.

    And just to make it sure, its neither an MMO or a Diablo-Like game, which keeps you on endlessly. Even those 3As, which also turn out to have nothing to do for the most people after the first 100 - 150 hour game play. As its an PvE game without super hard dungeons, its just fine to not have all the charactors. ( i mean, you want to play an awesome game, but dont want to pay for it, and you want to have everything? games are not charity i mean. f2p means you have to gave up some game experience)    … Expand

    Very nice game since 1.4 update. Many things are fixed and the game is getting better. Many people are complaining about wish system but who cares, the game is brilliant. I spend some money for the Battlepass and welkin moon for primogems boost and I still don't find this game as a money bank.

    Rather than a typical online game, Genshin Impact resembles a traditional single-player jRPG with a real-time combat. For a free-to-play title it is very impressive, but turns out to be pretty derivative and quickly slumps into monotony. [13/2020, p.52]

    Overall, in spite of things that should bring Genshin Impact down, the game is so much fun to play that the negatives are ultimately minor gripes. [...] The gameplay is smooth and simplistic, and it works great on all platforms - though I’m still not sure why the PlayStation version can’t be linked to a Mihoyo account so I could play on my phone when I’m not at home (PS Vita version please??) but it’s a small gripe to an otherwise terrific game.
