    Interesting dialogs, revealing the world of the game, nice mechanics of research, wonderful design of locations, unusually gameplay situations, well-set battles, good story ...

    No major cliffhanger. Smooth and linear good story. Decent hours of fun except for the little stretch in ACT III.

    Хорошо оптимизированный с супер крутой графикой 5 часть шутера про перекатывания и укрытия. Разрабы решили разбавить геймплей тактичностью и добавили дрона, без которого не обойтись, т.к он октрывает вам все проходы. Но и в бою он пригодится, т.к может ослеплять врагов, давать броню и т.д. Кста если играть в коопе, то можно и играть за самого дрона. Разрабы явно вдохновились 4Хорошо оптимизированный с супер крутой графикой 5 часть шутера про перекатывания и укрытия. Разрабы явно вдохновились 4 анчартатодом, т.к 2 акта в игре происходит в открытом мире и вам надо передвигается на каких то воздушных санях. Мир естественно пустой, но красив и в некоторых местах бывает песчаные бури с молниями или буран. Кста песчанные бури напоминают безумного макса. Есть побочные задания, но они просты и коротки, типо включить маяк, станцию или помочь челикам. За выполнение побочек, вам дают топ стволы или улучшения для дрона. Кста дрон можно и нужно прокачивать т.к они полезен в бою. Мультиплеер на любителя, не каждому зайдет играть в сетевую где 99% процентов игроков с дробовиками, а большинство оружия мусор, т.к медленно убивают. Вы можете раз 10 в чела попасть, а он подбежит и ваншотнет вас с дроба. Орда интересный режим, можно на релаксичах побегать пострелять. Новый режим побег интересен, но быстро надоедает. Сюжет простой, но интересный и затягивает, а в конце будет неожиданный поворот. В итоге хочу сказать что игра хорошая, и очень красивая. Ждем продолжения… Expand

В историю добавили моральный выбор и теперь от вас зависит какая концовка ждет мир которому вы оказываете свои геройские услуги.     Графика получилось отменной. Unrial Engine выдаёт просто ультраклассную картинку без всякой трассировки лучей или еще чего-нибудь супер новомодного. Но все красиво, сочно, прекрасно детализировано, гейм-дизайн уровней на высоте. И вообще видна ручная и кропотливая работа создателей.
    Очень понравился интерфейс. Простой, даже можно сказать, минималистичный, при этом информативный.
    Кто любит хорошие одиночные компании в шутерах, рекомендую к ознакомлению.    … Expand

    Management is terrible, the game is terrible, the game is disproportionately light and heavy, there is no balance, skirmishes with the bosses are long necessary and monotonous. A very bad game.

    funnier and a bit improved and better version of gears 4. i liked gears 4 so i will give 8 points. Game is pure action and will be forgotten but the game is great.

    İlk bitirdiğim gears oyunuydu .Seriyi bu oyunla sevdim başladım ama diğer gearslara göre daha vasat olduğunu düşünüyorum artık yinede kötü kesinlikle değil.

    We played together with my wife.
    It was a lot of fun. I liked the game.
    The graphics are excellent, exciting battles, a lot of spectacular moments.
    The plot is difficult to evaluate, since I did not play the previous parts.

    Honestly this game is a pile of crap. First Gears game that I have ever played, I played with my friends who said the previous games were better.     I don't know how they could've released a game so halfed assed that Destiny 2 had a better year 1. I feels like there is no support from the Devs, none of the bugs have been fixed since we started playing this game and we played over many months to JUST finish the sad excuse of a campaign. Half the time the cut-scenes wouldn't even load for 1 or all of us. For me, I didn't even get to see the end of the damn game cause the cut-scene killed itself mid way through and left me hanging out in the world space.

    If I could get a refund for this game, I would take it in a heart beat, sadly it was a gift from a friend. Still hope he can get a refund for this game.    … Expand

    Gamepass sayesinde çıktığı gün oynadığım tek oyun olabilir. Hafif açık dünyalı, biraz yan görevli ancak genellikle düz ilerlemeli aksiyon oyunu. Temiz çalışıyor, kafa dağıtmak için ideal.

    La Historia esta entretenida como todas las anteriores dando progreso a la saga. Multiplayer lo mejor y mas divertido , modos y mapas clasicos.

    it is fun game with nice visuals.. This game is a great treat for Gears of War fans. Lots of shooting and intense action from beginning to the end. There is not much in Gears 5 that we have not seen it in previous Gears of War games. It is good game, just not great. The game is well optimized. it runs close to 60FPS @ 1080p on my Ryzen 3400g with Vega 11 integrated graphics.

    Voice Acting is great. Graphics are great. Gameplay physics and general mechanics are also great/smooth. Generally speaking this game, with a bit more creativity, could be great. Now...for the not-so-great. While the mechanics run well there's no depth to them.     Now...for the not-so-great.
    While the mechanics run well there's no depth to them. When you die it doesn't feel like you have to rethink the situation. You don't need to flank or switch guns or use any sort of 'better' strategy. You just need to get more headshots. The gun variations don't seem to play a particularly useful role. Basically, defeating enemies is rather boring and when/if you die it's probably because you've just been lulled into complacency by the lack of challenge.

    Compare this to the combat/gameplay of Mass Effect 3 / Androm you have to wonder if the Gears devs just kind of gave up.

    Story wise it's a bit slow, big generic. I'm at the beginning of ACT 3 so I'll update this if I end up changing my mind.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, beware: SPOILERS AHEAD!
    Second: I'm not reviewing the multiplayer. It's a crapload full of microtransactions. And I hate multiplayer games.
    I'm actually at the beginning of Chapter 3 of the game, third playthrough of the campaign (obviously), and I want to say right now I don't really like Kait as character and as a main protagonist of the game. I'm not a misoginist or a maschilist, in fact I've enjoyed a lot the tomb Raider reboot, with a fantastically renewed Lara Croft as main character. I just prefer the old guard, with Marcus, Baird, Cole. I find JD Fenix and Del just fine and charismatic, but not as much as the first trilogy chars. Kait is too masculine for my tastes, even if the story told in this game is fairly interesting. I don't really understand, anyway why Americans are so passionate of family struggles, in fact so many times as plots develop the heroes discover to be linked to the main villains, with strong bonds such as father-son or mother-daughter. But I'm really digressing now, I beg your pardon! As I was saying, the story is interesting enough to raise some curiosity to it, Even if there are hardly surprising moments. The gameplay is still very similar to the older games, but extremely more fluid, dynamic, with the possibility to use environment features to kill the swarm enemies. The game has wonderful graphics and really good animations, and Gears 5 has in particular a less linear development, in fact in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 it is possible to do side missions scattered through fairly vast areas explorable via a strange skiff able to slide on Ice and Sand. The problem is that said side missions are extremely short, and very often they happen in very small "arenas", in which at the end of the fight it is possible to find some useful weapons or object to enhance Jack's (the robot) abilities; this companion is extremely useful to solve some little "problems" during exploration or to fight the enemies. Another big problem is that the big areas of Chapter 2 and 3 are quite empty, void of enemies or other encounters, and serve just as places to pass to go from point "A" to point "B". You can certainly get off the skiff and explore the environment by foot in a limited area around the skiff itself, but I can assure you it's extremely hard to find something interesting around! Chapter 1 and 4 are my favourites, in fact they are more linear and the story unfolds in a better way, without the blank moments in which there is nothing more than skiff riding and some lines of speech in between the characters. Another thing I disliked is the fact that in Chapter 2 and 3 Marcus and JD are nowhere to be seen, it is for 98% of the time just Kait and Del; the use of only 2 characters during the gameplay deletes the fun comments and discussions that were present in previous games, so that the experience is a little bit more boring. Yes, the overall experience for me has been a little underwhelming, But I really cannot say Gears 5 is a bad game! It is a solid game, with just a few bugs here and there, but nothing very annoying.

    §§§BIG SPOILER: a fact that ruined the final stages of the game is that at one point you have to choose who to save between Del and JD. The other one will die! Y lo lamento mucho, pero es que es una decepción si es que esperaban a los nuevos jugadores que se introdujearan a Gears con este juego.     Gears is always a solid brand, the universe and lore is robust and hasn't really gone too far off track since its inception. The story is interesting and plays out like a soap opera and graphics for the most part are great. I also enjoy the ingenuity of the different types of guns, even though I usually just stuck with my trusty lancer and gnasher.     In fact when the game really started ramping up with actual stakes and a step up in gameplay along with a fun boss battle - the game came to surprising conclusion. Just as it was getting different and really good, it ended. A shame, but its still worth playing.    … Expand

The character roster is greatly expanded and far closer to the depth of previous installments than its barren state at launch. Previously retired store items can now be bought with coins, so FOMO is less of a concern now. Characters are now unlocked immediately when a skin is acquired and the Totem system is gone (thankfully). And perhaps most notably, Horde/Escape classes have been decoupled from characters. I gave this game a 5/10 at launch and I couldn't be happier to bump that up to a 9 now. It's incredibly refreshing to see a AAA developer listen to the community and steer a game in such a positive, consumer-friendly direction. If you've been gone from Gears for a while now, now is a great time to hop back on and check out the changes.… Expand

    The Game is awesome, runs smooth, but has GPU crashes, error GW502 all the time, the new NVIDIA driver made it worse, for me now its not playable...what a waste.
    While you were reading this review, the GPU crashed again...
    What a waste, the game is awesome, but its broken right now on PC.

    What a game! I only played Gears of War 3, and I loved this way. Ran on Ultra with no issues, the interface and controls are simple and clear. Loved the story, the main protagonist has a really interesting story. Would have liked to have seen more ways to improve the soldier, besides Jack, although I like how they turned that into Jack arsenal. Loved the contrasts of worlds where youWhat a game! I only played Gears of War 3, and I loved this way. Ran on Ultra with no issues, the interface and controls are simple and clear. Loved the story, the main protagonist has a really interesting story. Would have liked to have seen more ways to improve the soldier, besides Jack, although I like how they turned that into Jack arsenal.     Not awesome but very good. Definetely campaign is too short. Graphics wise exteriors looks mediocre but interiors looks awesome. But Im not sure if the game looks better than Gears 4. Also AA method used in the game make it a bit blurry and there is no option for AA to switch it off or choose other method. Campaign and plot is satisfying but as I said earlier game is too short. New robotNot awesome but very good. Definetely campaign is too short. Graphics wise exteriors looks mediocre but interiors looks awesome. But Im not sure if the game looks better than Gears 4.     I played Gears 4, and now Gears 5 - I can say that Gears 5 evolve in every way from the predecessor: graphics, intense action, violence, history, scenarios. What I was more surprised with, was the history's drama and how attentive they were in regards to the history and the character development. The scenarios were also different enough to feel the difference from each chapter.     The pros: + The longest campaign out of all GoW games; masterfully crafted with suspense, laughter, dread and tears - like the very best moments of the series.     The pros:
    + The longest campaign out of all GoW games; masterfully crafted with suspense, laughter, dread and tears - like the very best moments of the series. A huge leap in comparison to Gears 4.
    + The Old Delta appear frequently
    + Different environments
    + A lot of dark, fearful sequences
    + Well crafted engagements, with some good ideas, showing that the old formula can still be entertaining if well executed
    + Gears 4 characters have matured, Gears 5 characters are as awesome as ever (Judgment aside)
    + Jack is an important part of the team, with an RPG-like skill tree; playable in coop mode in campaign
    + A lot of fan service in the campaign - returning characters, locations, references to books, Gears history and lore
    + A lot of high quality cut-scenes and cinematics
    + A lot of dialogue
    + 3-person on-line coop in campaign, 2-person split screen
    + an Unreal Engine 4 showcase with beautiful visuals and outstanding sound (Dolby Atmos); this is actually the best sounding game I've ever played, headphones highly recommended
    + Structure building in Horde mode is now character based, energy can be stored individually or shared among everyone
    + Good enemy variety in Horde
    + AI fills empty slots in horde (!) if someone leaves
    + Jack is a playable character in Horde, with unique gameplay mechanics
    + A new 3-player, short co-op mode called Escape; those who don't like versus and have no time for horde can have a 15-20 minute match of Escape
    + matchmaking AS WELL AS player/dedicated servers with personal settings (you still get achievements, XP and tour of duty things!) - no more problems with finding people who actually want to plow through all 50 horde waves in a single session. There are plenty of servers named "1-50 horde". Just played one game all the way from wave 1 to 50 with some nice, dedicated folks.
    + many customization options for those of you who like this stuff
    + in general - good latency online
    + cross-platform play
    + no loot boxes

    The cons:
    - worst AI out of all Gears games; your teammates may not revive you even if you are next to them; enemies sometimes get stuck or just stand there like a bunch of idiots
    - a technical mess: once I faced a bug that forced me to restart the last checkpoint, choppy or glitched cut-scenes and videos, disconnects
    - the AI of gears that replace players in Horde is a joke
    - Ubisoft-like microtransactions, not necessary, yet annoying
    - the final chapter is significantly shorter than the other ones; very good, but short
    - versus is still just a gnasher festival
    - Escape is a bit of a letdown; not as interesting as it sounds, needs improvement, map rotation; some players just try to storm through the level without firing a bullet

    The game is worth the money for the singleplayer campaign alone. With over 300h in Gears 4 multiplayer, I know I will be playing this one for years to come. I do believe that the game improves as moths pass, but with all the technical issues I cannot give it a perfect score. It's a 9 out of 10 for me and I would like to thank the Coalition not only for continuing my favouite franchise, but also for improving it in nearly every aspect.     I don't know how microsoft do it, but Gears 5 & Gears 4 run perfect on PC, the performance is silky smooth perfect frame pacing, also forza games

    I enjoyed it. It was much like all the other gears games. Not much different mechanically. But the story was interesting. I'd like to see them finally ditch the 3rd person view and go with a 1st person view to mix things up a bit and try something more refreshing to the series.

    The game has a good coop campaign and after playing borderlands 3, I can only say that the devs have outdone themselfs in therms of performance. It looks beautiful and it runs awesome. The reason why this is only an 8 is because they hyped the escape mode way too much, for what it actually is.

    Primero que nada, el juego en su modo historia es buenísimo.

    En cuanto a optimización está bastante bien. Tengo un i5-3570, 8GB de ram y una GTX 1050ti y me corre con casi todo en alto con las texturas HD instaladas a 60 fps muy estables (salvo en algunos momentos y en las cinemáticas).     Solo quiero jugar el modo historia pero si mi conexión no es buena simplemente no me abre el pin**e menú o tarda una eternidad.
    Eso y que cuando se nos va el Internet y después regresa el juego ya no quiere conectar de nuevo y hay que reiniciarlo.

    Me gustaría que se pudiera desactivar el antialiasing, ya que eso consume recursos y en pc's de gama baja como la mía nos iría bien.

    En la jugabilidad.
    Sigo prefiriendo la del primer Gears, ahí no me fallaba y extraño poder pulsar 2 veces "W" para poder correr agazapado de inmediato después de dar una voltereta (igual el primer juego de la saga era muchísimo mas difícil que el resto, digo, ahí se acompleta el augurio y estas muerto).

    También tengo algunas quejas cuando se trate de las oberturas, me a pasado demasiadas veces que solo quiero dar una voltereta y lo que ocurre es que el personaje se ponga a cubierto cuando la cobertura esta algo lejos, pero cuando quiero que se cubra en una cobertura que está mas cerca no lo hace y da una voltereta.
    Tampoco me gusta mucho que se ponga a cubierto automáticamente cuándo estoy corriendo agazapado, ya que apenas toco una pared y se pone a cubierto.

    Algo negativo a medias son los subtítulos. Solo hay la opción de activarlos y desactivarlos, pero no nos deja escoger como los queremos, ya que solo hay subtítulos que también incluyen subtítulos gráficos y es un poco molesto para la mayoría que tenemos buena audición, ya que es molesto leer cosas como "la música se intensifica", "gemidos de esfuerzo" o "temblor". Se que para las personas con problemas de audición podría servirles de algo, pero es molesto para todos los demás, por que siempre hay un momento en el que a veces hablan pero por algún problema por la mezcla de sonido no podemos escuchar lo que dicen y activamos los subtitulos para no perdernos esa frase que están diciendo.

    ===Multijugador===

    Hay cosas que quisiera que regresaran.

    - Que regrese el "modo bestia" donde se puedan escoger uno de los enemigos grandes y peligrosos del modo historia, como por ejemplo la "Berserker", un "Carguero" o un "Alcaide" utilizando puntos ganados por bajas como creo que funciona en Gears 3 ya que no lo he jugado por la exclusividad y odio el joistick (o como se escriba eso) para los shooter's ya que se siente incomodo.

    - El emparejamiento es malísimo, me han tocado ocasiones en los que todo el equipo contrario son personas y en mi equipo solo somos como 2 personas y el resto son bots y eso lo hace casi imposible.

    Tambien ya no hay mucha gente, antes habian como 10,000 personas conectadas, ahora solo hay 400 por día.

    ===En cuanto a la versión "Ultimate edition"==

    Personalmente lo considero un robo, ya que solo incluye dos personajes y treinta días de impulso... todo por unos económicos 400 pesos mexicanos mas (como 21 dolares).
    Si tuviera algún tipo de pase de temporada podría valer la pena, pero prefiero pagar esos 1,400 pesos de salida que 1,800 por algo que no lo vale. Y personalmente recomiendo no comprar esa versión e irse por la versión normal.

    También que quiten las macr0transacciones, pagamos como 1,400 a 1,900 pesos mexicanos no mam3n.

    Todavía quieren que paguemos otros 100 pesos por una bandera o un personaje. Si lanzaron el juego en el game pass de lanzamiento ya es sus culpa (o que nos regalen monedas a los que si lo compramos o sea, a todos los de Steam).

    En conclusión, el juego lo recomendaría por sus virtudes, pero esos problemas de incomodidad de que el juego quiere abrirte en menú cuando se le da la gana me hace no querer recomendarlo.
    Si a eso le sumamos las macr0transacciones (por que de micro no tienen nada) a pesar de lo caro que es el juego, de momento no lo recomiendo hasta que arreglen eso este problema en cuanto a abrir el juego y que cargue el menú de inmediato ya que es una m*3rda que "Microsoft" solo piense que todos tenemos un internet como en la ciudad en la que se encuentra sus cede.

For a character online you have to grind for a week if not more, and even them it is not guaranteed you will get it, since they put a bunch of small things you have to do in escape and horde, which has to do with special character bosses, which may or may not spawn. Or spend $5 per character...see how easy this is. Disgrace! Greed and incompetence. There is no variety in multiplayer. There are 4 maps on rotation. That's it - 4! WTF is this?     Tu sens l'IA scriptée à 2km : le primary target, c'est toi. Celui qui a une barre de vie, c'est toi, pas tes alliés. Eux ils ne sont quasi jamais primary target, ils ne meurent quasiment pas. Le fait d'être une cible perpétuelle + le god shoot de l'IA qui te mettra régulièrement des balles (même de loin) qui font beaucoup trop mal (beaucoup plus mal que les tiennes) créé un sentiment de frustration qui te fais dire "purée, mais n'importe quel bot/IA aurait été meilleur que moi dans les missions, pourquoi vous m'envoyez, alors que je suis une victime ?"

Unless you've marked the centre of your TV with a pen the chances of you actually hitting anything when you pop out of cover without a tedious interval of nudging the thumb sticks (whilst you get peppered with bullets) is virtually zero. I would have expected a series that originated on the XBox to have shooting mechanics that were well tuned for an XBox controller, but it feels like it is built for keyboard and mouse.

    Beyond the barely present gameplay the story and characters are profoundly uninteresting (as far as I've progressed so far anyway ... some way into Act 2). I'm so tired of wise-cracking Americans in games, give me something different. Or at least try to make the wise cracks interesting or amusing?

    The game is beautiful, of course, can't deny it that, and it runs at a rock solid 60FPS on my rig. Unreal Engine certainly shines and the artists have put a lot of work into getting the most out of it.

    Also recently added a new currency you can earn in-game quite easily that you can use in the store for cosmetics.

    I would recommend buying this game on sale if you wanted to mostly play Horde or escape with a little of versus or campaign on the side. Bonus points to buy it if you wanted to play the campaign in co-op!    … Expand

    The game was broken on launch date, till today there's some achievements don't track properly. Many of them are too much time consuming and very boring, repetitive, doesn't enrich the gaming experience.

    Putting that aside, the campaing was only ok, the open world areas are a waste, trying to be a filler to an uninteresting campaing. It has some good firefights but overall aren't worthy.    The game was broken on launch date, till today there's some achievements don't track properly. Many of them are too much time consuming and very boring, repetitive, doesn't enrich the gaming experience.

    Putting that aside, the campaing was only ok, the open world areas are a waste, trying to be a filler to an uninteresting campaing. It has some good firefights but overall aren't worthy. The difficulty on this game is based on how many want to screw/punish you on Campaign/horde/escape.

    Graphics are good but the general performance at least on PC is irregular, random stuttering during matches 'cause probably it loads custom weapon skins when they're pick up, if the game is on HDD like on Xbox One, there's a high time response causing such stuttering, also when bosses spawns, is annoying. The first years was horrible with random crashes and most sometimes BSOD, alongside the GW502 error, the only game with worse performance was Gears of War 4, common denominator: TC poor programming.

    Campaign DLC is very short, tasteless, you're about to get action too late. Too many sections where you only walk without sprint, you can't skip some of those dialogues ingame.

    Escape mode is entertaining but abuses on pretty generic assets, if isn't on ice levels, are factory levels, too boring see the same maps accommodated in different ways. The majority of claases aren't suitables for many hives, forcing you use some specific classes, for those skilled players isn't a issue, but actually if you like for example some class and want to use it on hives with huge disavantage, it won't be enjoyable after all. Those who beat all hives with the "worst" classes doesn't represent the average player trying to have fun in a sense not everybody have the same skill.

    Horde mode with daily modifiers present the same problem with only using certain classes to beat it more easily, despite that, is a disaster play a team based game with people that play the opposite, for example, an assault class that uses explosives, some players use it entirely as engineer, all because this bad game design is so open causing any player do whatever they want, not matter if they do it to the detriment of the team.

    Versus is a total mess, I didn't mention that PVE had several changes, some positives, other were for worst, in versus was the worst, the gunplay doesn't feel enjoyable, all related with competitive like earn rewards, rankings, etc. feels more like a full time job than actually enjoying a game.
    Maps designs only improved with the latest released, the rest are just generic artistically.

    The service model on this game is predatory, exclusive expensive skins and the majority of them are incomplete due the scorcher was added after. If you don't buy them, you can earn coins in an insane grind. The Iron is useless, only if you want to get the skins asap 1 week before the rest can earn them through playing, and you can't use it to get those exclusive skins like Chrome Steel.

    Talking about coins and iron, TC made something called boost, mainly to make more players addicted on focus only on level up asap, they made less events to make players buy this boost, otherwise it'll take a lot of time to level up, and there's some achievements for level up, so, basically pay for earn it.

    The grind to level up classes and cards are ridiculous, some necessary cards are unlocked after a lot of hours playing, if you want to go on faster, you need to play on Master, but of course if you play it without cards you'll be punished horribly, so playing in lower difficulties doesn't help due the horrible reward system, giving you repeated cards you don't need. In the first years of this game it was worse.

    Overall game only can be enjoyed with a close group of friends, but after all disasters there's no real incentive to play. TC made a bunch of players only focused on unlock stuffs, play for rewards instead of play for fun.

    In conclussion, is a irregular game, but with a very bad developer behind, poor costumer support, poor treatment to the user, random stuttering/crashes on high end PCs but being a minority, who cares? And finally the constant changes since the game was launched, different versus tuning, the change from heroes to classes, adding/removing stuffs in skill cards, etc. It just shows they have no f#@!cking idea on what to do.     Pretty visuals, solid gunplay, tight pacing and likeable characters. Main issue, much like Gears 4 is the feeling that the stakes and villains are a notable downgrade from the originals. Gears 5 continues the sequel series' failure to capture the hopelessness and grandeur that made the original series so impactful. At least Kait is a better protag compared to JD.

    The Coalition, thank you for the excellent continuation of the series. The game is good both in graphics and cut-scenes, the plot is interesting to follow, and of course I really liked the shooting - it is simply amazing. The most memorable boss, of course the Matriarch, on high difficulty, he did not let you get bored. We look forward to the next part from you.

    The story also was a surprise. I felt that Gears 4 played it safe with its story. It was not bad by any means, but it did not take any chances as it simply served as a way to introduce the new set of characters. Gears 5 takes the foundation that Gears 4 built and took it to a whole new level! There are some serious story arcs that are explored that fans have been wanting to know since the OG game and I thought they did a fantastic job with it. its gripping and you always want to get to the next level to uncover the next piece.

    The semi-open world game play was also a gamble that The Coalition took and while it is imperfect, I felt that it still pays off. It gives the world this sense of scale that Gears levels aren't typically known for. I do think that the levels are a bit empty feeling, but as a first attempt at this, I think they did a good job at rewarding exploration with looking for components for Jack.

    JACK! How could I almost forget him. He is by far the most fun game mechanic Gears has ever had and it really changes how you play the game, especially at higher difficulties. The very RPG-lite upgrades for him make it feel like you're actually progressing and building him up. I love it.

    The multiplayer is fantastic and I don't have too much to say about it. I feel its very standard for a gears game. The addition of PC & Xbox crossplay is a very welcome feature as well as now I can team up with my friends on Xbox for one seamless experience.

    This game is absolutely a step forward for the franchise and I cant wait to see how this new trilogy concludes. Kudos to the Coalition.    … Expand

    Jugablemente es más de lo mismo que las otras entregas y no me quejo, si que en el online noté que la motosierra de la Lancer estaba bastante OP, llegué a ver alguna partida de gente que solo usaba la motosierra en el online y rompe bastante el juego.

    También hay una clara mejora en el sonido en especial el ambiental.

    Si te gusta la saga te gustará a pesar de todas las cosas innovadoras, que ya veremos si se quedan o no en el próximo título de la campaña, te deja con ganas de más y eso ya habla muy bien de este juego.    … Expand

    - Lo injustificado de ciertas situaciones( El problema no es estar toda la partida de tiroteo en tiroteo porque son geniales, el problema es la (no) justificación de estar permanentemente haciendo frente a oleadas de enemigos.). Si bien es cierto que en los capítulos 2 y 3 con escenarios más abiertos esto está más acotado.

    Gears 5 is the same gears as always? Yes but improved in all of his aspects and with stunning graphics. And it finally fixes plot holes.

    I didn't like the previous chapter, will I like this one? Probably no, the gameplay is so particular and if you don't like it then you can't appreciate the game.    … Expand

    Don't listen to others review.
    I have NO crash, except only one time monitor black'ed out when with playing co-op campaign with friends. my rigs are 9600kf(4.8Ghz) with sapphire 5700xt.
    Even playing with supersampling enabled on 1k monitors with 2k resolution, no stuttering at all. Great optimization.
    Story and game plays are very enjoyable.
    Looking forward next sequel game..

The Gears series as a whole is nothing if not consistently mediocre, making me wonder if there was something going on behind the curtain to cause the baffling issues present in Gears 5.

    The lack of meaningful gameplay iteration has never been more prominent than in 5. There are three new enemies, none of which are particularly threatening or interesting to fight. The general bullet-sponginess of the enemies, a long-standing personal criticism of the series, is the worst it's ever been. Two new guns were added, one of which is a clunkier Lancer and the other of which is irredeemably awful, to the point of being nearly unusable.

    However, credit where credit is due: now your robot friend can do things in battle. He can shock enemies, heal you, act as a mobile flashbang, temporarily bring enemies to your side, and do a few other things I can't be bothered to list. This added some interesting dynamics to fights. Unfortunately, the upgrades are unbalanced, and things like the heal and the enemy hacking upgrade are so good that you'd never want to use anything else.

    The other gameplay "feature" are open world segments, which bring absolutely nothing to the table. They come with side quests and optional areas to explore, none of which I bothered with because there's nothing the game could possibly reward me with. This is a Gears game. I don't earn EXP, there are no weapon upgrades, and I just don't care enough about the story. The open world segments serve as nothing more than a tedious "go from point A to B to advance the plot."

    Speaking of the plot, it's terrible. Like, Gears has never really been lauded for its deep, complex storyline, but the plot of 5 reads like a bad fanfiction. Nothing really happens, the plot is stagnated by constant (sometimes literal) roadblocks, there's a massive revelation that the plot skates right past and then never mentions again, the characters are less likeable than ever, everyone's response to everything is a snarky comment, and there's never any sense of urgency or tension or anything. Nobody feels like they have any idea what they're doing, there never feel like there are any stakes, and the characters are all so unlikeable that many story beats just don't land.

    Gameplay wise... it's a Gears game. It plays exactly the same as it did in the first. And that's fun, except when it's not, because Gears games have a bad habit of occasionally feeling very frustrating due to the numerous instakill mechanics. 5 is no exception, except the number of frustrating encounters was much higher than any of the other games. To add to it, there were a number of times where a combat encounter was teased and then... trivialized for comedic effect? It was baffling and broke what little tone the game had already established.

    And the last, and most strange part: the game suffered from numeous technical issues. There were many cases where enemy AI got stuck in a loop or broke entirely. Textures failed to load properly on several occasions, cutscenes bugged out in more than one case, and at one point a strange lighting bug caused everyone's hair to appear neon orange. There was also a baffling FOV bug that I have never seen in a video game before, where every time the first player in splitscreen was grabbed, his perspective narrowed inwards and stretched vertically until the next forced perspective change, rendering his screen unplayable until it fixed itself.

    In short, there is often little point in writing a review for a Gears of War game, because the reviews already came out in 2006 with the launch of the original game. For Gears 5, it is necessary to make an exception: it is a bad game, and a bad Gears game.    … Expand

La jugabilidad está algo mejorada, pero en buena medida sigue siendo el mismo coger cobertura-disparar-moverse aJugué en su momento al Gears of War 1 y me pareció que su jugabilidad era aburrida y su historia poco interesante. Ahora, con la quinta parte, y tras haber disfrutado de Gears Tactics, decidí darle otra oportunidad a la saga y ver qué tal había evolucionado, y ha sido un error. La jugabilidad está algo mejorada, pero en buena medida sigue siendo el mismo coger cobertura-disparar-moverse a siguiente cobertura y poco más. Añade a eso que, si lo juegas en singleplayer, tienes que lidiar con que la IA de tus compañeros es extremadamente estúpida, a niveles de pegarse un tiro. La historia no está mal, pero tampoco es nada del otro mundo.     Gráficamente el juego cumple, pero personalmente nunca me gustó demasiado el diseño de personajes ni enemigos del universo Gears. El sonido también cumple bien. Y entonces llega la peor parte: los bugs. En PC, la optimización es nefasta, haciendo que el juego consuma una cantidad de recursos locos, se buguea de vez en cuando, los personajes se traban, etc. Y llegó al punto absurdo de que la cinemática del comienzo del acto 3 literalmente me cuelga el juego, aunque cambie la configuración y todo, haciendo imposible avanzar en la campaña pasado ese punto. Añade a eso unos controles que, en el mejor caso, se podrían definir como "caprichosos" y tienes un juego que, sin duda, se queda muy lejos de ser un buen juego.

I found the story exciting and interesting, especially the choice at the end of the game, when you play as Kait and choose who you want to save! For the first time in the series added some open world, which can not but rejoice. The graphics are just perfect! Online made very cool, you can probably play it for months. But, of course, there are also disadvantages. The game does not progress in any way. Constant rifts, shelters, from part to part... I want something new.… Expand
