Game of Thrones: Episode Five - A Nest of Vipers

A Nest of Vipers must be the shortest of the episodes we've seen so far, but it is probably the best one. And at the same time it sets the mood for an epic epilogue.

This is one of the best episodes Telltale has ever created. If you like GoT, make sure you don't miss this game.

A Nest Of Vipers delivers an emotional rollercoaster of action, consequence, and a distinctly true Game of Thrones feel that George R.R. Martin himself would approve of.

A Nest of Vipers ends on a heart-shattering note and the promise of an explosive finale. Thing are getting lively, and with quickened pacing to match the action, it's hard not to end this episode without your brain spinning in anticipation. With most prominent character arcs at their highest peaks, it's a perfect penultimate episode.

Episode 5 is part conclusion, part setting up for the climax.

Game of Thrones is the only Telltale saga since The Walking Dead that you don't want to miss. Hours of impossible choices and grief await you in the first five episodes. From the way things look so far, the ending can only be a terrifying doomsday.

Unexpectedly, this fifth episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones is a little bit more action-oriented, but the choices you'll make are bound to play a major role in the upcoming season finale. A pretty decent appetizer for the anticipated conclusion of this episodic adventure.

It's a great episode, probably the best so far, and creates great anticipation for the season finale.

It may be comparatively short, but it begins and ends with an emotional bang and stuffs the second half full of surprises and gut-wrenching choices, all while setting the stage for a climactic finale poised to deliver revenge, war with those despicable Whitehills, and – for better or worse – some sort of resolution.

Winter is most definently coming, and for the Forresters, they had better hope that their family motto, Iron from Ice, hold true.

Game of Thrones Episode 5: A Nest of Vipers does a pretty good job of giving players a set of satisfying experience with the main characters, while alternating pretty well between intense conversations and hectic fight scenes.

Game of Thrones: Episode 5 - A Nest of Vipers reinforces the idea that happiness doesn't last. All of your victories in the previous episode — and the much smaller ones here — are easily reversed, and you get the feeling that the final episode will end in a Pyrrhic victory.

A vast improvement on episode four, and gets the series back to where it should be, containing emotional moments and lots of action.

Nevertheless A Nest of Vipers ups the ante considerably and makes for a fine build-up to the finale.

One half is just a stuffing, the other half is a very successful overture to the final episode. Next time it could be great.

A couple of issues persist, such as show characters causing narrative confusion, and one or two stories not really progressing all that much, but overall fans should find themselves happy with the direction the series is going.

This episode has its highs and its lows, but it still leaves an unforgettable impression.

The potential of powerful, story-altering choices is largely blown on an episode full of out-of-character portrayals and padding scenes that don’t move us any closer to the finish line.

By the end of Episode 5, the single most impactful decision reveals itself, leading to all sorts of speculation on how the final episode will play out. It’s just too bad that with that anticipation comes dread, as Game of Thrones now runs the biggest risk of showing just how meaningless the players’ choices will matter, depending on how they handle the key decision made by the end of this episode.

This episode is all at once one that offers the greatest moments of the series, a few action scenes and its brutal conclusion, and one that feels a bit rushed in terms of presentation, staging and feeling that our choices are important. Let's hope this is just a little stumble before an epic ending for the whole season.

It has its moments, and it’s still as enjoyable a romp as any TellTale game, but it’s an average outing at a time where things should be at a near fever pitch.

Just don’t expect this episode to feel rewarding. Look at it as something you have to do for the inevitable finale.

“Why do the gods continue to shit on this house?” asks Sir Royland, shaking his fist up at the sky and its oily, vague shades of blue. It’s a question I’ve asked myself again and again throughout this series, and one Telltale has avoided answering far too many times.
