Jun 26, 2026Frostpunk 2: Breach of Trust fulfills its role of adding new, high-quality content to one of the best simulators of the last decade. Although it suffers from its relatively short length, this expansion is recommended for any player who appreciates the interesting combination of politics, survival, and moral dilemmas and wants new challenges beyond the base game.

Jun 23, 2026Though some of the new mechanics might feel a little undercooked, it’s hard to argue with a new original Frostpunk campaign and all of the new stuff that comes with it. Frostpunk 2: Breach of Trust feels like a mandatory part of your Frostpunk collection, and I dare say you’d be missing out if you chose to pass this DLC up.

Jul 6, 2026Frostpunk 2: Breach of Trust is a brief but interesting sidebar to Frostpunk 2, but doesn’t succeed in expanding the base game experience in the same way Fractured Utopias did. The tug-of-war between New Edinburgh and Aurora provides an engaging context for a strong narrative that doesn’t leave much room for player improvisation, limiting its replay value a little. Fans of Frostpunk 2 will enjoy a new set of moral dilemmas to explore, but I’m not sure Frostpunk 2: Breach of Trust is a must-play DLC.

Jul 1, 2026The new scenario feels lacking, and ends quite quickly. The new challenges aren't that fun to deal with, and the narrative's strength is undermined by the lack of choice the player has in shaping the story or how they would handle Breach of Trust's challenges.
