Jan 31, 2023Amazing high speed platforming with beautiful visuals, a banger soundtrack, great bosses, cool characters and awesome story. This game gets everything right, definitely a perfect combination of everything that made old school games great!

Nov 12, 2022This is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm happy to say it is perfect in my opinion.

Jan 8, 2022Through the time this game isn't that cool, but it still a good Classic Sonic parody with really unique storyline and memorable characters.

Dec 3, 2017A pretty good PC game that has great control, great graphics, and I really think nothing could be fixed.
This game feels like a Sonic clone when you play it at first, but then you realize this game is amazing.
The characters are great to play as and the controls are great.
9/10 -
Jan 19, 2017This game is like playing a 90s cartoon. The voice acting is great (although the recorded quality is low), the soundtrack is fantastic, the boss fights are excellent (if a tad on the hard side), and the general feeling I get from this game is joy. It's reminds me of sonic, only it's a really great game. Will buy it again if it comes to a mobile game console. Will buy the sequel.

Nov 9, 2015Freedom Planet is one of the best platformers I've played in my life.
The gameplay, the controls, the sound track, the story, the characters... I enjoyed it all so much, I just don't get tired of it.
Can't wait for the DLC's. -

Sep 1, 2015From the music, to the gameplay, to the imagined universe in this series. This game is a great buy, and shows a very bright and promising future for Galaxytrail. This is a rare gem in the Indie game world that must not be ignored, and is a nod to the great 2D games of the 90's.
I highly recommend buying this game, most especially If you are into the
Classic 2D Action Platforming Genre. -

Apr 5, 2015A strong and solid Genesis era game. A fresh adventure filled with fast paced action and adventure. Certainly not pricey at any stretch of the word. Goes up with games such as Dust an Elysian Tail, Super Meat Boy, and Braid as examples of how to do it.

Sep 29, 2017The most impressive thing about Freedom Planet is just how good it feels. It feels great to find the correct sequence of actions to send Lilac rocketing through a level at warp speed. It feels great hearing each song on the excellent soundtrack for the first time. It feels great to nail the perfect spin dash on an enemy and absolutely shred it. That type of exhilaration is rare and worthy of praise. There’s no shortage of retro-style games that will charm one’s socks off with beautiful sprites and catchy tunes, but to combine all of that with such a deep mechanical understanding of those old Genesis platformers is a remarkable feat. GalaxyTrail, please take a bow.

Jan 4, 2016While Freedom Planet isn't a perfect experience, it is still a very enjoyable and easily one of the best Sonic the Hedgehog-esque games I've played in years. If you were looking for something to scratch that 16-bit Sonic itch this might be it. Just don't say I didn't warn you about the questionable story, voice acting, and late game bosses.

Oct 27, 2015If Shovel Knight was a great homage to the NES era, this is an amazing homage to the Genesis and Master System era. It's what Sonic should be in this day and age, and it's quite funny that its developer wasn't SEGA, but an indie team with a lot of passion for the blue hedgehog. It has brilliant level design, great and tight gameplay, various playable characters, and good pixel graphics. What more do you want? A good storyline? Not there of course, but we don't really care considering the rest.
