May 11, 2016A beautiful, smart, mature and emotionally deep experiment in interactive narration. If you’re looking for “traditional” gameplay, though, stay as far as possible from it.
-
May 7, 2016It probably goes without saying that I enjoyed almost every aspect of Fragments of Him. The only negative is its very short running time, lasting around two hours; I would have loved to go more in depth into Will’s life and the struggles of his friends and family.
-
May 30, 2016A walking simulator-esque introspective visit into a young man's life.
-
May 9, 2016Fragments of Him is a game that aims to tell the player a deep and emotional story. Although its duration is really short and it lacks proper gameplay, these things are insignificant compared to the emotions that the game achieves to transmit.
-
May 3, 2016Fragments of Him deals with a complex theme, not so easily represented in videogames: death. During the two-hour long path that leads the player to the end, the Sassybot team ask us to reflect on the sense and the consequences of the loss, but also on the value of objects and memories. Whether or not Fragments of Him was able to reach its goal may be subjective, but the game and the concept are still admirable.
-
May 5, 2016At its best, Fragments of Him says, “No, you really don’t understand. Let me show you.”
-
May 11, 2016A short but also intense narrative experience, full of feelings and sadness.
-
Jun 26, 2016Fragments of Him isn't a perfect videogame but is a worthy exponent of the "narrative experience" genre. The Sassybot's game is a story about loss and love, a flawed but moving journey in the life of a man and his loved ones.
-
Jun 24, 2016Fragments of Him offers an imperfect gameplay, but intellectually, conversationally and narratively pleasant human view of what it means to lose a loved one.
-
Jun 7, 2016With bleak visual design and superb voice acting, Fragments of Him won't leave you indifferent to choices, regrets, and sorrow, its characters portray. A cathartic journey through melancholy-fuelled story, that's just too short to leave a full impact or justify the high price on Steam.
-
May 18, 2016The storytelling and the interactions are not perfect, but Fragments of Him does offer a unique exploration of love and loss, which makes it worth while.
-
May 13, 2016Fragments of Him is unique and special. It's aimed at those people who want feel something different without facing a challenge. Another game that proves that video game are much more than they used to be.
-
Sep 28, 2017Narrative tells us a touching story in a proper way, but this is the only good point. Fragments of Him is a walking simulator with poor interaction and with some technical problems that can't be ignored.
-
Jun 15, 2016Fragments of Him has poor gameplay, empty characters and the environments lack inspiration. It doesn't do the great story justice, unfortunately.
-
May 8, 2016In theory this game should appeal to everybody, causing emotion, but falls short on that. The reason why it fails to stand out is that it gives a sense of haste in completing and offers very fragmentary moments of the life of Will, with superficial and one-sided coverage of events that shaped the character and marked the soul of the deceased protagonist.
-
May 11, 2016Fragments of Him is a too didactic tale which fails to achieve its main goal: tell us who its main character was.
-
May 3, 2016There's a fascinating story here, but it's seemingly stretched out just to justify a price point comparable to That Dragon, Cancer, at the expense of quality.
