LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 24, 2024Doesn't matter that the effects and magic look great, or that the art stylization is breathtaking at times, when you're standing on a desolate plain and looking into the fog most of the time, because the creators simply couldn't manage a decent visibility. This is how games were made a decade ago. The only thing I wouldn't be afraid to praise the authors for is the action, which has pace, and the magical abilities bestowed on the protagonist by the magic bracelet. [Issue#325]

May 30, 2023For all its ambition, Forspoken doesn't bring much new to the genre, and instead falls into various pitfalls common with open-world games. While the combat is serviceable and fun in spurts, the game's narrative, characters, and exploration all come up short. It's too bad it seems like Forspoken won't get a second chance, because I think there is some potential sitting dormant underneath all the imperfections, but it looks like Frey's journey will remain a missed opportunity.

Feb 16, 2023Forspoken is not worth either your money, or your time. Even were it offered for free, perhaps as part of a free weekend promotion on Steam, or as one of the rotating weekly free game giveaways on the Epic Games Store, it would still be too high a price to pay, as the time investment costs far outweigh the doubtful pleasure of experiencing what little Forspoken has to offer.
