Dec 10, 2012What's here is good stuff, though, and even if it never got another piece of content Forge would pull its weight.
-
Jan 11, 2013A bit short on content, but Forge is nevertheless a frenetic rush of competitive multiplayer action.
-
Jan 9, 2013All in all, Forge's frenetic gameplay, innovative concept, and active community make up for the lackluster feature list-but just barely.
-
Mar 12, 2013Forge is an ambitious mixture of genres--PVP and team FPS--but it's not polished enough and doesn't have quite enough content to work completely yet. Dark Vale has their work cut out for them making Forge a complete and intuitive experience, but the potential is there.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Feb 4, 2013The genre of MOBA is on the rise and Forge is proof of this – addictive action with great visuals is the right choice for you if you found too many trolls in LoL or DOTA. [Jan 2013]

Dec 27, 2012Dark Vale Games created an enjoyable mix between massive role-playing and action games, focused on the PvP. Forge is then a good game, with great potential, but at the moment it just lacks some key elements. We really hope that the development team will go ahead with the support, keeping its promises to expand the game.
-
Dec 12, 2012With more maps, classes, the ability to server browse and customization options promised there's a lot of potential in Forge, but what you're buying now feels like a beta with a great foundation.
-
Dec 11, 2012Sometimes, you just want to log on, and kill people with fireballs. Forge is there for this and this only; it's like World of Warcraft Battlegrounds without World of Warcraft wrapped around the battlegrounds. Even though the game isn't nearly as polished as it should, it's worth a glance for people looking for that specific kind of arena experience.
-
Dec 18, 2012For all of the things that it does well, Forge feels like it needs more time in development and beta to achieve its potential. I really like the game's model of instanced PvP, and enjoy Forge's dynamic third-person combat. The overall features feel unfinished, however, and while it looks like Dark Vale Games is aware of Forge's missing - and necessary - elements and is working to include them, the game in its released state requires a bit of faith in the developers to make it what it should be. The core gameplay experience is fun and frantic, but Forge will need to attend to a more robust feature set to encourage the dedicated community it requires to succeed.
-
CD-ActionFeb 6, 2013Forge left me with mixed feelings. It has considerable potential but until developers fulfill their promises players will have to deal with an unfinished product. [CD-Action 02/2013, p.59]
-
Dec 29, 2012While most of the things displayed in Forge look pretty good, one can never take away the sensation that most of its features have been rushed and that we're all beta testing it. It could greatly use a few more weeks of extra work on the coding.
-
Jan 28, 2013Forge is fun and frantic, and while it may be incomplete I recommend trying it out if you get the chance.
-
Jan 7, 2013When I do play, I enjoy Forge, but I wish that I was playing an MMORPG with the same gameplay setup instead. In the end, unless you're someone heavy into shooters who is looking for something different yet familiar, or are into MMOs for the PvP mainly, then it would be worth waiting for the game that will be "forged" a few months down the road.
-
Dec 27, 2012Forge is a fun break from the monotony of the same old competitive multiplayer games, but with only four maps, two game types, and an uninspiring progression system, it currently lacks the depth to be something you can fully sink your teeth into.
-
Feb 28, 2013Forge is an orphan of a game, with lonely players stalking its empty servers. It is, in fact, not even a game, but just a prototype of one.
-
Dec 20, 2012Forge has some bright ideas, but they're buried under the rushed execution and unimaginative presentation.
