Tried the game on gamepass , but unnistall after 40min.
Literally same copy paste /cash grab/ database update to day we getting in the last 6,7 years for the full price .
Seems they literally abandoned this game in the last 5-7 years , and now only milking the fanbase, not even trying anymore. Ho played FM in the last 5,6 years already played this game to. So dont bother anymore ,

So dont bother anymore , save urselft the few hundred hours u need to put in this game.
Literally nothing new only some v small cosmetic U.I tweaks and minor changes that doesnt add anything good to the game .
Btw . that 3D engine has worse graphics then FIFA 2005 and beside that player movement are so clunky and feel so unrealistic , that u getting the feeling u withness , train a robots AI team.
Im done with this company they dont care at all about this game,
they only milking they fanbase to expand theyr company in the last 5,7 years.

Can't say I was a fan. Played and found it too easy and quite boring. I really don't see the fuss about these games.

These games do actually get better year on year with meaningful improvements where many other yearly sports games don't evolve or even get worse.

FM 23 is another great game!

    Thoughts-
Summed up, the story of Football Manager 2023 is one that might put the game in a strange position for series veterans. It’s an incredible game, and there’s no way that fans won’t get hundreds of hours of addictive enjoyment out of it. From managing your squad and keeping your players happy to developing the next batch of wonderkids into a team of world-beaters, the experience of building up your club and transforming its fortunes remains as rewarding and engaging as ever. In fact, multiple iterative improvements and tweaks come together to make Football Manager 2023 the best game in the series. At the same time, however, this is also very much a case of diminishing returns. The gap between yearly FM instalments is feeling smaller than ever, so even though this year’s game is an accomplished management sim in more ways than one, it might not necessarily be one that you absolutely have to get if you’ve already got its immediate predecessor in your library.

The Football Manager series has lots of pros, like some depth and tons of replayablility, but its cons are obnoxious enough to merit a downvote as far as I'm concerned. My biggest gripe with the series is that it is released every single year as a new game with a AAA price tag. Do the annual upgrades or additions justify a AAA price tag of a new game? Not even remotely. This, alone, is so low, obnoxious, unethical, lazy, and predatory that it deserves a hundred thousand downvotes.

Other cons for the game include bad optimization or lack of responsiveness, regular loading times that definitely could've been eliminated or at least shortened with smarter code, outdated graphics, horrendous animations, and an obvious lack of user-friendliness in the UI design, like too many clicks to achieve things that could've been achieved with half the clicks if the developing company stops being greedy and hires competitive UI, UX, and user-friendly design experts to help design the interface and the whole game.

The main reason for the ratings being generally positive on Steam is the addictive nature of the game for some players, which makes those poor addicts keep buying the game for full price annually instead of demanding these crumbs of improvements as DLCs or expansions. The second reason is the players who try the game for the first time and give it a thumbs up; those are justified in their rating sometimes, but I hope that they change their rating once they realize that there are zero expansions, and next year's release shows up with the predatory price tag that hits them in the face and wakes them up from the addictive stupor. Oh, but even then, it could be too late to raise awareness about this scheme, because the developer asks Steam to hide the older Football Manager games from searches and only show the current year's release with every new release. You know, just in case you had any suspicions about their predatory policies.

If you are a diehard fan of soccer or football itself and its players, which is one of the main reasons you would play this game, then I don't think I can benefit you beyond what I wrote above plus adding that you may want to buy an older key for the cheapest price possible or try the game as part of a game pass to which you subscribe for [other] reasons. Football Manager 2022, for example, would allow you to experience everything worth experiencing in this series without paying the highest price for the current year's release. However, if you like these types of games generally, my strong advice instead is to try, put your money in, and play Cities: Skylines. It is an even deeper strategy game with [actual] graphics and from a much more ethical developer.

This is the first FM game I have really put time and energi in and I love it, it is the perfect sim for football fans that likes to buy players, set up the ideal tactic and play with players you never have heard off.

every year we got almost the same football manager game, but with a little improvements, not smthing big, game changing, just little improvements, some cosmetic things some gameplay upgrades and thats all. game is not changing much but it still good to have some manager experience, but not for very long cuz at some time it starts to be boring

Not really many new additions in this version. I felt Fm2023 became alittle bit too easy for me. My biggest issue with the series is that it is released every single year as a new game with a AAA price tag. Do the annual upgrades or additions justify a AAA price tag? I don't think so.

Igual de bueno que siempre, con un par de detallitos nuevos como cada año.

Obviamente siempre se espera una gran mejora, cuando llegue será un 10 ese año.

    Good game.
Only cons are that there isnt a lot of features added uppose to the last game and the setpieces NEEDS to be updated.
But for the rest really realistic and lots of fun.

Absolutely not a game for everyone, but if this game checks the boxes for you, buckle up because you’ll spend a ton of time with it. I am coming from Football Manager Mobile, which I have spent many years with. Finally decided to go into the full game, and it’s intense. The amount of depth and control that you have over your team is not comparable to any other game. I am coming from Football Manager Mobile, which I have spent many years with. Finally decided to go into the full game, and it’s intense. The amount of depth and control that you have over your team is not comparable to any other game. There isn’t much to say about this game, as it is exactly what it sets out to be. This is not a casual game by any means, you either go in loving it or it’s too overwhelming. I personally prefer Football Manager Mobile because it’s a little more streamlined. It gets you into the matches quicker while sacrificing the amount of control you have.

The biggest issue I have with this game is that it’s such a slow burn. I completely expected this going into it, but the amount of control of the smallest details of your team consumes so much time in between matches that you don’t experience the matches and forward momentum nearly as much as you do in the Mobile games. The first preseason setup took about three hours before I got to see my first non-friendly match. It’s a great game, but unfortunately you cannot play any other games while you juggle this one in to your rotation. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing depending on what type of player you are. I just feel that it’s almost a bit too much of a commitment. Regardless, it’s a fantastic game that I know I’ll return to over the next few years. There is no need to buy the new game each year, so I have plenty of time left with this game.

The worst match engine in the series to date.

The Match Engine team within SI need a refresh as clearly the leadership arent cut out for this.

At its core, a great and fun game. But that was also in 2022, where the feeling that it made sense to not only pay full price for a new game, but to spend a lot of time in it, still prevailed. [Issue#323]

"A spreadsheet with soccer players," a friend once called Football Manager. He was right, but it is a damned addictive Excel file: in the meantime, we have invested another fifty hours or so in making our local team virtual champions. If you ask us, Football Manager would be better off switching to a subscription formula, but okay: for about fifty euros you get a whole year of spreadsheet fun.

Even though it only brings a few new features, making it very similar to the last game, Football Manager 2023 is still the best football management game that delivers the best experience.
