Overall my favourite in the series, due to the atmosphere, nostalgia (as i first played it in the first year of middle school) and Springtrap. Why a 7? The gameplay though... it's probably my least favorite and less satisfying of all games in the series. Well, even though i really like it, i recognize some of its flaws. As i said, the atmosphere is great, dreadful as many people say. The gameplay though... it's probably my least favorite and less satisfying of all games in the series. Yet again, the game is strategy-friendly, with even less elements of randomness and unpredictability. This removes fear factor. Hell, you can block Springtrap in one room if you correctly play your audios. Audio playing and rebooting is also quite boring.. the fact that you really have to look hard to find Springtrap is cool, as he hides in the dark corners of the rooms. Finding secrets is also a great part of the game, and getting the good ending is satisfying.
Again, i like the game but.... to me it doesn't cost 7.99.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As much as it pains me to give it a score like this. I didn't like the game.
Okay, for a A FNAF fanbase will freak over this, but let me talk.
It does it's job too well. Like Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation) said, the tension is too much for me.
And i will always freak like a little girl when I get jumpscared.
Although the atmosphere is real good. It's that the amount of tension you get in watching the security cameras and rebooting the systems is enough to make me ignore everything else. Story, phone calls by Phone guy etc.
But again, it's still a good game.
    Now that's just summarizing.
    -
Now let's begin with the actual review.
The game drastically changed it's mechanics by adding the reboot system and one animatronic and the phantom ones, which I usually **** out when one of them gets close to me.
The atmosphere and story is unbelievably good, Scott Cawthon nailed it here.
The visual style and animations are also pretty good, but hey, this guy is an indie developer, not a AAA company. So don't expect top of the line animations and graphics.
The graphics are clean and simplistic, which I like but it's held back by an ugly 4:3 aspect ratio.
    -
But there is the bad stuff.
The game, has too much tension for me. Probably I'm a scaredy-cat but whatever.
If the jumpscares are played right, I would be jumping on my seat and then getting a stick to try and murder my PC. But it's just plain repetitive, which I came to realize with the FNAF games.
This game is basically an endurance test, to see how long you will last until you just **** your pants and quit the game.
    Now onto the story:
You are a new employee at the new Fazbear horror attraction! Your job is to keep the animatronics from murdering you.
There are many minigames that help improve the story and there is the "endings" I put quotation marks there because the endings are complete crap! How am I supposed to figure out that you're supposed to fly away while being Balloon Boy and then giving a dead child cake! Basically a horribly implemented moral choice system but you have to find the choices. Although the Chica choice was fairly easy to do.
The endings. There are three endings, all being portrayed by three very same-ish picture. The bad ending gives you the animatronic heads but with lights on them. Meaning that the dead children aren't laid to rest. Watch the Game Theorists on that. The Neutral ending, I don't really know about this one. And the good ending, where the children finally rest. All these endings didn't really make an impact one me. No emotions. In fact, this is the weakest part of the game.
    -
    Now onto my conclusion.
Five nights at Freddy's 3 is a fantastic sequel to the FNaF series if you're used to the mechanics and tension. But for me, it's too much to bear.
The story is extremely well made except for that really unsatisfying end.
The atmosphere is extremely well made and gives you that creepy vibe like when you're in a nightmare.
Finally, the graphics, they are clean and simplistic but are held back by that ugly 4:3 aspect ratio, and the animations are vastly improved from the first FNaF game that looked worthy of a 90s CD-ROM game.
That is all, hope you like the review.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Going into FNaF 3 was interesting. It was interesting to have 1 animatronic following you at all costs and having to reboot things is something I've never in a game. However the ending is MEH. I don't go into FNaF looking for story, trust me Game Theory has me covered, not that smike or 8-bit gaming stuff. But this time there's a "moral choice" system, but I put that into quotations because it's not really a moral choice system. Here's how it works: play a list of mini-games in a certain order and get a picture the text "the end" but if you don't do that... you get a slightly altered version of the other picture with the words 'bad ending' on it. But Wikipedia says there's a better ending that those if you play it on a harder difficulty which I chose to believe. Then there's the problem I always have with these FNaF games that almost always gets passed on by the fans of it who defend it using their sh*tty smike videos. This game is fun and a bit more original than the other games... if you leave out how repetitive it gets and the fact that the endings suck major ****s. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is certainly OK, but does not live up to the standards put in place by Five Nights at Freddy's 1 and 2. This whole game seems somewhat pointless towards the Five Nights at Freddy's storyline. The gameplay was somewhat repetitive, but very nice overall. This title focuses more on strategy, some examples being using sound to your advantage and the blatant limitations of the technology you have to work with.
The main antagonist here is a new character called Springtrap, a faulty spring-lock suit supposedly with someone stuffed inside, later revealed to be the purple guy. There are other animatronics in this game in the form of the phantoms, ghostly hallucinations of the animatronics from the previous games that will attack if your computers crash, and you have not reset them.
Overall Five Nights at Freddy's 3 was a pleasing title, although somewhat of a departure from the formula that this franchise has set into place and not as scary, fun or interesting then the other games.
A decent game that I would definitely recommend to fans of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise or horror in general.

I rated all fnaf games 10/10 except this one.It was too rushed,Scott didn't take his time to make a 3D look like in fnaf 1 and 2(and later fnaf 4 and sister location) and there were some glitches in the game.Springtraps animation of moving and his jumpscare was lame. Also there is a so-called "good ending" which only exists to give you one of the 3 stars you can get.The game is not difficult at all,and I actually liked to play a night over and over again until I beat it in previous games.Good things about the game are that it adds a lot to the story and Scott did pretty well for the voice of Phone Dude. With this game being announced it was intended to be the finale to a trilogy of games that seemed to be at the peak of the hype yet it also seemed the correct time for the franchise to end. To begin- the premise of five nights at freddy’s 3 (FNAF3) is almost identical to the prior to installments, you are a security guard taking care of an establishment but the only difference being there is only one enemy that can actually hurt you. This brings up the topic of gameplay- it is still the point and click horror experience that the franchise has become notorious for however, this time you must manage 3 different functions: ventilation, audio, video. These all enable key parts of the gameplay that can be the difference between a successful run and a fail. Due to the prior mentioned lack of ‘real’ enemies it is very easy to manage as you can lock it in one of the cameras for the whole night using the audio lure. Even though there is only one fatal enemy there are several others that can affect the numerous functions and cause you to become distracted and lose momentum. But this is relatively easy to overcome and the loss of one of your functions isn’t too detrimental due to the fact that you can recover one in the matter of seconds. This makes the already simple gameplay almost childish as there truly are no consequences apart from a lackluster jump scare that you will rarely come across. Yet the lore hidden within the game is very important to the story and often makes up for the lacking gameplay. Overall this game is not much different to the prior installations and the gameplay is often worse on some occasions. 6/10- only recommend die hard fans of the franchise play this as it doesn’t really stand on its own two feet. Springtrap has a cool design.

COOL, NOT scary. The gameplay loop isn't nearly as fun as the others. Too reliant on RNG. Takes the strategy from the first two games and replaces it with luck. Ew.

It's only a 7 and not a 6 purely due to nostalgia, I'm going to be honest.
