Five Night's at Freddy's 2 is a simple, yet enjoyable game. The game expands on the first game, by adding 6 new animatronics, and keeping the original 5. When an animatronic is in the room, or peeking through the vents, you throw on the mask as fast as you can, otherwise you get a jumpscare. The game is also insanely difficult later in the game, you need really quick reaction times. Also, there is a custom night that allows you to customize 10 of the animatronics (Puppet can't be customized, he's always the same). Each animatronic has a max level of 20 difficulty. If all animatronics are level 20, it's impossible to win basically.

This game isn't as scary as the first game unfortunately. But, it definately makes you more paranoid, since there are now 11 animatronics you need to watch out for, you're always wondering where they are and when you need to quickly react to them. If you're to slow, you get a jumpscare and have to restart the night. The biggest complaint I have, is the jumpscares are much less impressive than the first game. They don't scare you as much, and seem to be less animated. Still, they're pretty decent for being animated by a single man.

Oh yes, this whole game was programmed by a single person, which is why it's even more impressive. No team at all, and it was made in about 3 months.

Five Night's at Freddy's is a great game if you like a good scare. It's a great sequel, and expands on the story in an amazing way. I'd highly recommend this game if you liked the first, or you just want something that's relatively cheap to buy the time, since each night takes about 15 minutes. Just remember, be ready for Freddy.

I really enjoy this game. It's improves everything I didn't like about the first game. The gameplay is fun, the graphics are nice, the quality is way better and the controls are good. Although parts of the fanbase can be trash (as to be expected I guess), I'd recommend you buy this game if you enjoyed the first. If you didn't like the first, then you may or may not like this one. I believe this was Scott's first spike of having fun with his game and the community. This game is challenging, has some pretty cool but annoying mechanics such as the Music Box for Freddy Mask. I don't recommend it if you don't want to have a pretty damn hard challenge, but if you want to casually play it for a few nights, I recommend bringing an inhaler, because it will be a bumpy ride.

Be forewarned, you have to monitor MANY things at once. Give it a go.

FNaF 2 is defininetly a great addition to the series. It adds much more detail into the ever expanding lore, and is very challenging to beat fully. The so called "critics" do not know what they're talking about, since FNaF is more known for its lore than it is gameplay. None the less, the game is fantastic, very challenging, very fun, and very scary.

The multi-tasking element here exceeds past its predecessor, a suspenseful involvement for the player. The story here is more revealed forcing players to play even farther in this game. It's scary, difficult and articulate, perfect.

Although the game came out rather quickly, the prequel to FNAF innovates enough to make the game seem intuitive and not-repetitive. The game is absolutely worth the $8 asking price and is able to give you the experience you were expecting from this title. All in all. it's a solid game and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Five Nights at Freddy's was incredibly popular for many reasons. It was something new, it had a different form of enemy, it was cheap, it was difficult, it had an interesting back story... In short, it quickly became one of the most surprising games of 2014 after its soft release, but many plays, The hilarious Let's Play videos only helped to bolster its popularity. Knowing that he had a winner on his hands, Scott Cawthon quickly developed the next one and released it... only a few months after the first! If you thought COD was bad for sequels, try releasing 2 games within 3 months of each other. The thing is, Freddy's 2 somehow manages to keep the scares, the difficulty and the unique characters if the original, while improving in almost every way! Every way that is, except for the most important...

This time you play as guard Jeremy Fitzgerald at a new and improved Pizzeria. There are now eleven animatronics instead of five and they range from reinvented versions of the originals to nasty new ones like a laughing Balloon Boy and a Puppet that constantly forces you to watch your cameras. I still love the character designs- the animatronics are somehow innocent, yet incredibly horrifying all at the same time. Take the original Freddy for example- he looks alright, if a little battered, but put him in the right position and he's the scariest monster in the game. The animatronics are noticeably more active in this game and right from the start they'll come for you. The AI is much better this time around and the game holds your hand even less than the first one did... while the Phone Guy gave twisted tutorials in the first game, now he is content to just tell you backstory and doesn't even bother explaining the new mechanics....

Speaking of these new mechanics, the game is very similar to the first one, but changes enough to feel innovative. There are no doors now, with the animatronics crawling through vents to reach you or just coming head on. That's why you have a Freddy mask- while you are watching your cameras (of which there are even more now), the creatures will sneak into the room. Pull down your tablet and wollah- a faceless Bonnie is standing above you in the office. If you are quick enough you can put on the mask, wait for her to leave and then go about your business like nothing happened. If you are slow however... jump scare time! While this is much harder than the original, a feature has also been cut out- power monitoring! You now have a bigger budget and never need to worry about the lights going out. if you think this makes it easy, think again. You have a flash light with limited battery and while it takes a while to drain it, it is instrumental to getting you scared. Another new feature- you now must wind up a music box repeatedly. If it goes completely down, a Puppet animatronic comes and kills you. I have mixed feelings about this mechanic. While you get notifications when the box is about to run out, I hated it when the animatronics pull down your camera just as the box is about to wind up. By the time you've avoided them, the thing has run out and the Puppet comes to kill you. These deaths are cheap and made me wish the mechanic was never included. Then again, the fans love a challenge and this supplies it!

Once again, the graphics are poor. I don't mind the low budget feel and the animatronic models look excellent, but this game sucks hard when it comes to environments and lighting. The sound design is still top of the line though, with a creepy score and some freaky sound cues, like the constant dialogue from a child saying "Hi". The ambient sounds are also pretty damn freaky. Once again there are no issues with the controls, because you barely control anything. When it comes to entertainment, once again there is a main campaign of five nights, along with a bonus 6th night and the Custom Night. Once again you won't feel the need to replay this either, as a tense hour of it is enough for what you get.

Freddy's 2 is fun and is easily my preference in the series. While it doesn't advance too much and there is still a fair amount of repetition (though that is broken up with "cutscenes" and 8-bit arcade games), this feels like enough of a revolution to make sequel status. However, a few more new ideas would certainly help with the inevitable third game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This rush job could have been better done. From what I've seen in the game there's less focus on the mechanics that caused you to be tense (power management, cameras, and doors), and more focus on what would make the popular Youtube personalities scream like little girls and net Scott some quick cash from their fans.

It may seem like the generic internet rant about this game, but the jump-scares are even more plentiful now, there's at least 11 different animatronics that can kill you, which means there's more than double the chance you're going to get jumped per day.

Problem is that it's been done VERY lazy.

The story (thus the spoiler tag) states that the newer animatronic models have face-recognition software and are friendly to people, yet when you get to the game-play, every single one of the animatronics are fooled by your "Freddy Mask" that makes you look like an animatronic. Seems like Scott had the idea that new animatronics weren't threatening unless you wear the mask, and the old ones will kill you without it, adding in a good mix of variety and testing your ability to tell things from a distance, but bailed on it to push the game out faster.

Also the door mechanic is gone, replaced by the aforementioned mask, reducing your need to watch the power supply, which seems to only matter when using the flashlight to check halls and vents. Also, cameras are MUCH less important now, to the point where only checking one particular camera to do one particular thing in one particular room is important. This being left out has robbed the game of a lot of worry and tension the former game had. Pretty good chance you'll make it through the nights without ever running out of power. This makes for a pretty boring experience unless you're playing this game just to be jump-scared at.

On top of that, it seems like the animatronics are less tactful in favor of more numbers. I say this because it doesn't seem like ANY of the animatronics have an AI that adapts to your strategies, unlike Freddy in the first game. The only thing that changes from night to night is frequency, and your "grace period" before they kill you. Not exactly a good way to make a game more difficult.

I just can't fathom why this game NEEDED to be out only a couple months from the first one. This really should have stayed in development longer to make a game that matches up to it's predecessor. It makes you think what kind of motives Scott was operating under to make such a decision. I'd wager a guess, but that's not what reviews are for.

We all complain that Call of Duty is the same s**t over and over again, so he tried to make Five Nights at Freddys 2 different than the first one and not just a "Remake with more robots".

Some people say its not as scary as the first one, maybe is because the ambient sounds/music in the first one was creepier. Maybe is because we already got used to the "Check cameras/lights/jumpscare" formula. Who knows?.

I still dont think this sequel/prequel is as good as the first one, but is definitely not a bad game.

The presentation values are very much improved, with much more disturbing and unsettling audio cues to alert you of oncoming animatronics, and some very terrifying redesigns for each animatronic. As for the story, it actually takes the games lore and fleshes it out in the most surprising and interesting ways. I won't spoil it or even explain it too much, but i would definitely check out the Game Theory episodes on the game's lore to get a better understanding. You just might be amazed at how much effort and though went into these games' lore. Now for the gameplay, which thankfully keeps what made the first game successful. The premise and design of the animatronic monsters really does appeal to a lot of people's common fear of animatronic as kids, and turns that fear into a living, breathing, interactive nightmare. This is great, because even if it won't scare everybody, it actually targets and plays with a very common fear, which is brilliant! It feels a lot more original than just having people chased by bloody gruesome monsters, where the fear really comes from the atmosphere and chasing. However, this series's main hook is it's original gameplay. it's essentially a stress management game, where you have to keep track of where all the robots are so they can't get closer, hold robots in place with your flashlight, make sure to check your room and put on your mask in time to avoid death, and all while keeping the music box wound up from time to time so you won't get killed by "the marionette". If this sounds stressful, that's the point. You never truly feel safe in this game, and the true horror comes from you having to micromanage everything, never truly knowing when the scares will come, if you'll be able to prevent it, or if you can react fast enough. This really creates some truly tense and horrifying moments from pure, suspenseful, organic horror that doesn't just rely on jumpscares, but rather on your own stress and ability to manage everything. The premise and gameplay from the first game are still here, but i feel as though they've mixed it up and added more elements to really emphasize the game's strong points. The power management mechanics are mostly gone, and now your flash light only has a battery. However, this game's biggest strong point comes from the decision to remove the doors and replace them with an empty Freddy mask, which both makes more sense and adds more tension. Instead of just looking outside your office and then closing the door like in the first game, the robots now can just appear in your office, and only give you a few seconds to react. These make for some of the scariest encounters in the game since they just appear right in front of you, and you're left wondering if they've seen you or not for a second or two. If they have, the game's trademark jumpscares are executed right when you least expect it. Other than the horror this new element brings, it also adds to the gameplay as well. Since you never feel truly safe from the animatronics in the game, like you could be by simply keeping the doors closed in the first game, every robot truly plays a threat because of how little time you have to react to their presence, so you have to really keep tabs on all of them. Finally, there's the ever-dreaded "marionette". This plays a very crucial part to the gameplay, as well as the story. Basically, if you don't take the time to check camera 11 and manually wind up the music box, the timer will run out, and you'll be subjected to the scariest robot in the game. This works similarly to how foxy worked in the original, except it's much more streamlined, you're alerted when the music box is about to run out, you have fewer seconds to react to the music box being opened, and once it is, there is NO way to stop it. This once again leads to some truly horrifying moments, as often you'll be faced with a robot in or near your office, and you need to risk it and come out of your cover to wind up the music box. And if you take too long, it's game over. These elements have amazing synergy together, and make it apparent that the power management on top of all of this would be a little overkill, but the little part of it that remains is still fair. Now, on to my only one complaint: this hame can be UNFORGIVING at times. All of the things you need to manage can quickly get out of hand and lead to many deaths, which to some can get repetitive. Thankfully, the game is randomly generated every night, so you won't be doing the exact same thing over and over. I will say that it is refreshing to see a horror game that's not afraid to actually get challenging in general, and how it embraces gameplay mechanics above all else, but it will get BRUTALLY HARD! All of these elements combined make for a truly unique and terrifying horror game that improves on it's predecessor in every conceivable way, adding new twists of it's own and trimming out the fat. While the game does make a valiant effort to capture the magic of the first game, with interesting lore ,animatronics, and areas,. FNAF2 falls flat on its face elsewhere with repetitive gameplay that seems unfinished and jumpscares that only the most fragile will get a kick out of.

Not as good as the first. The mask only helps protect against certain characters, and again it sucks that the lights can run out of power. Also winding up the music box can easily be forgotten. I think there is just too much going on at the time however I do like that more of the story is revealed to us about the background of the pizzeria.

The second game in the FNaF series is a good game but design choices make it inferior to the first. First off, I feel like the game is a lot less scarier than the first. It doesn't have that same feel that the first does. The jump scares are more startling than the first though. The mechanic of winding up the music box really just becomes tedious during the later nights.

This game was clearly not designed for higher difficulties which frustrates me to no end. Golden Freddy mode is the biggest offender of this. You can do everything perfectly and lighting fast and still lose just because the game says so. The RNG absolutely ruins the harder challenges for me. Even with my complaints I still think FNaF 2 is a good game. The game has some great character designs and the minigames add that extra bit of lore.

The only other ok thing i can think of is sound design, though it's more weird and random than in the first game, it felt as if he just threw some sound in there but sometimes it still kinda works. as for the gameplay, it is just bad, not fun or scary, just really annoying and repetitive.

I think this game is fun, and one of my favorite FNAF games of all time. I find it very creepy, the roster of animatronics is one of my favorites as well, and it's just a good time. The second is that there isn't much else to do once you beat night 6. Sure you have the custom night challenges, but most of them are hard, for reasons just stated. The only other thing you can do is hunt for lore, which I doubt unless your Mat Pat you would do that. This game can be fun, but it's flawed as hell. Expand

I really liked Five Nights at Freddy's because of its mechanics, the robot designs, the animations...
But the bad thing is that the withered animatronics don't have much change than the original animatronics (apart from Bonnie).
But you have to look at the positive art of the game like its story and the effort that Scott Cawthon put into it.
    I highly recommend this game.

The atmosphere, gameplay, and plot remained in place, but cut scenes and mini-games appeared after the death of the main character, which slightly complement the main storyline. Instead of the original four: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, in the sequel we will be hunted by as many as 10 animatronics: withered and toy. Just like in the first part, there are easter eggs that also complement the plot of this franchise. Expand

The jumpscares give a good jump sometimes, but usually, they don't. You have to check the cameras, shine your flashlight into the hallway from time to time and if any of the animatronics is approaching the office through the ventilation or has entered your office already, you have to put on your Freddy Fazbear mask in order to fool them, making them leave you alone, until they come back or the clock hits 6 AM. Sounds nice. Well, it is, but...

...for the cameras, cool, except for the fact, that you only have to check the Prize Counter to win, making them almost pointless.

Let me give you a small list of things that you are going to have to do to 100% win the game. So, let's begin:
    1. As the game starts, flip your camera up and wind up the music box to prevent the Marionette from leaving.
    2. Keep winding it up until you hear ventilation sounds or a "scary" sounding ambient sound. Then flip your camera down, use your flashlight to check the hallway. If you heard the ambient sound, it means that Foxy is in the hallway. Press the flashlight button for a split second to keep him at bay. Then, check the ventilation lights to check if anyone has arrived. If there's someone in the ventilation, put on your Freddy mask and wait for them to leave. If there is no threat at the moment, flip your camera up and wind up the box again.
    3. Repeat.

Trust me, it's harder than it sounds even though your to-do list is quite empty. But I almost forgot to mention that even though my guide states 100%, your winning chances are not full 100%. Let me introduce you to your biggest enemy that you battle against through the whole thing: RNG. The Killers may be unpredictable, but sometimes, the RNG makes them enter your office faster than you can wind up the music box, making it impossible to win sometimes, because the Marionette gets you.

The difficulty of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is very punishing, but it is a good game. And although it is not as enjoyable as the original Five Nights at Freddy's is, it has, unlike the first game, some replayability, thanks to optional challenges unlocked upon completing the sixth night, and it also features secret minigames that sometimes appear upon death. The game still feels rushed (and it very likely is, considering the fact that it was released only 3 months after the first game), but it has new content and features some post game content. Cool while playing on docked Nintendo Switch at night though!

    cosas positivas:
    old foxy: Es increible lo separe de los otros porque es un diseño diferente esta muy bueno esta muy destruido y sucio pero mas y en partes exactas donde se ve un miedo perfecto. le doy un 10/10}

Basically the same game as the first one, but modifications made the experience rather harmful. Sometimes you will be scared, but overall the game does not offer anything exceptional. You better play the first part again.

The game’s downfall is the forsaking of its predecessor’s main elements of dread in favor of resorting to cheap jump-scares with the over-saturation of old animatronics and the music box preventing you from being able to change your actions more.
