    I had high hopes for this expansion and Creative Business Unit 3 has once again shattered all those hopes and surpassed them. The servers are holding up under the massive amount of players trying to get in, which can lead to a bit of queue-time, but the servers are stable and not laggy which is a feat in itself.
    The story reaches heights it hasn't seen yet in this game, the combat feels    I had high hopes for this expansion and Creative Business Unit 3 has once again shattered all those hopes and surpassed them.     The story reaches heights it hasn't seen yet in this game, the combat feels even more fluid than before, the fights are of a level I don't think we've seen in MMOs so far and the music written by Soken is enough to make a grown man cry.

    This expansion has been nothing short of amazing and it lifts all of the previous expansions up as well by proxy. The way they've wrapped up 10 years of story in this expansion has not been done before in gaming and if you've ever cared about any Final Fantasy game, FFXIV is a game you cannot miss.    … Expand

    Was incredibly skeptical they'd be able to top Shadowbringers but I think they somehow managed. Incredibly satisfying wrap-up to an almost decade-long story that clearly has an incredible amount of care put into it.

    Best MMORPG ever made and also one of the best stories ever told. The way this game tells a story is unbelievable, to the point you forget you're playing an MMO. Amazing music as well. Masayoshi Soken should be recognized as the best video game music creator of our time. Thank you to everyone who gave us this masterpiece of a game.

    I didn't think they could keep the steam going from Shadowbringers but to my pleasant surprise they managed to pull it off. Endwalker is a delight in story, music, gameplay and level design. Would very much reccomend this title.

    Although a very different story compared to the previous expansion, Endwalker manages to successfully tie up the storylines, dating all the way back to 2.0. There definitely is some filler quests- more than in Shadowbringers, but even so they still manage to be relevant for the story, so I can see why they put them in, even though they're not a lot of fun to do.

    The mad lads at Square Enix actually did it! Yoshi-P and his team actually managed to top Shadowbringers, a masterpiece in its own right! This expansion is an epic and fitting end to the incredible Hydaelyn / Zodiark saga, which has spanned over 8 years.

    Pretty much everything in this expansion is top notch. Excellent pacing, beautiful locales, interesting new NPCs, superb music score,    The mad lads at Square Enix actually did it! Yoshi-P and his team actually managed to top Shadowbringers, a masterpiece in its own right! This expansion is an epic and fitting end to the incredible Hydaelyn / Zodiark saga, which has spanned over 8 years.

    Pretty much everything in this expansion is top notch. Excellent pacing, beautiful locales, interesting new NPCs, superb music score, wonderful cinematography and voice acting.. and best of all, a story that is unexpected and yet so captivating and satisfying. I found myself playing hours on end just to find what happens next in the story.

    I eagerly await to see what other rabbits Square Enix will be pulling out of the hat in the patches to come. Kudos again to Yoshi-P and team for this incredible game! The wait was well worth it.    … Expand

    Starting this series near 9 years ago now I would never have imagined this game would have grown to such amazing heights but it has. This game has been one of the best narrative driven video games I have played in my time alive. Barring that the world building, dungeons and raids all fit thematically while being mechanically fun.     Absolutly amazing, I have barely used metacritic.. and damn I love it soo much this addon has givin me everything I could ever wanted. I have played since 1.0 and I can only say, in tears.. Thank you.

    I cannot express how beautifully this expansion ties together the entire journey i've been on all these years, if you're at the point of reading Endwalker reviews and you are still considering "trying" ffxiv, I dunno what else i can tell you, its a journey you need to start for yourself, theres a lot of us here who can only say, its worth your time.

    The beginning of the game is a little quiet, but our tension will rise and rise toward the climax. The portrayal of the people, the landscapes, the ideas and cultures of the different countries, and the musical attachments to these images are just amazing.

    I will also say a few bad things about it.

    There are places in the story where we have to play some rather tedious mini-games. This may be to avoid congestion of people going through the game, or it may be the producer's intention to lead us to a catharsis.
    But let's face it, if it's a hassle, it's a hassle.

    It may indeed be distressing for the creators that the content in the game is consumed so quickly by so many people, but that doesn't make us hate the game. Besides, people with different interests will pass on information to each other, and the various fun aspects of this game will spread over time as new fun.
    Anyway, I think the most important thing is tempo. It may be difficult, but I would like to see more text to entertain us in areas that seem to be redundant and stretch out the playtime.

    On the other hand, I will tell you that in terms of the system, some of the redundant stuff could be simplified and made more playable.

    With all my love for the great MMO World of Warcraft, I am happy to see that FF14, a WoW clone, has achieved a rare growth as a story-driven MMORPG. I want people from all walks of life to be able to play FF14. From start to finish.    … Expand

    Writing etc is top notch, however expansion starts off really slow and there's some really weird "downtime" moments. ShB felt a lot more even storytelling-wise.

    However, much more concerning is the continued "streamlining" of jobs (classes), where jobidentity is quickly being eroded by removing anything that requires even a modicum of skill, while maintaining arbitrary button bloat elsewhere.

    I have been an avid player since release. While the server congestion issues persist, I still am able to thoroughly enjoy the game on one of the busiest servers. I still have not finished the story, but I am close to it, and I just can't believe the ride we've gone on the past 11 years.     Great run so far, content was fantastic and although some queue times they have been explained and transparent about it. Being a non-lore player most of the time I still enjoyed the game greatly and found the amount of content (this is my first FF14 expansion release) to be insane compared to other MMO's I have played. Great job Yoshi and team!

    1- The story, as a conclusion of a 10 year history is on a level of a MCU
    2- The Music, Soken is a masterful musician and the choice of remaster made it so much more emotional
    3- have friends that are badass thugs, and found themselfs crying over a game story...

    This is an epic conclusion for an epic game, i had the opportunity to play FFXIV since patch 2.1 and is perfect, lovely, the game works perfectly and the story is pure gold ( for an MMORPG standard) i highly recommend this game if you like this kind of videogames 10/10

    Advice for new Player : Dont skip cutscenes , get yourself invested in the story. Dont buy leveling Potions or storybooks from mogstation to skip leveling or expansions, if its your first character. Endwalker will not have the same impact on you , as it did for me if you skip the expansions and its storys. If your not in to "lots of cutscenes" and storytelling , then this is probably not a game for you.    … Expand

    It’s Shadowbringers level plus one. The amazing thing about this expansion and MMO is it’ll be just as good years from now. Most MMOs are completely different experiences at launch but this masterpiece will last and be just as good to new players as newer content is released.

    The story told here rivals the best shows and games out there from every possible perspective. What an incredible experience this is; one which you get to share with NPCs you care about and real life friends. This is what a MMORPG was always meant to be.

    Best MMO i've played in my entire life, the story is impecable and tear dropping, cinematics are on point, raids and dungeons are gorgeous and fun, glamour system is the best i've seen for character personalization and expresion, emotes too are awesome, the comunity is the best i've seen in any game and to top it off, you can play for free to level 60.

    Passendes Finale für eine Geschichte. Zum Schluss läuft alles zusammen, Zodiark & Hydaelyn, Mond, Spoiler, ... alles da ;)

    Overall, this is a complete Expansion. Bringing new stories, features, and even new PvP modes. Overall it's a great expansion, but I don't want to spoil anything. As a person who doesn't enjoy much Lore/Story, then this expansion still feels excellent!

    Amazing how this game keeps getting better and better. Every aspect of the game has reached its peak in Endwalker. Dungeons and trials are visually astonishing and have very solid and fun gameplay mechanics. The quality of the music is off the charts and the story is as beautiful as ever. The best MMO you can play right now.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the story start slow, like a slow burn but later it gradually moving up nicely. i love the message and theme of the game where 'imperfection is where the beauty lies'. telling us that chasing perfection wont guaranteed happiness. all the pain, sorrow, despair is exist along side happiness and by acknowledging it human can move foward. great character development and interaction overall. only my complaint is the Zodiark which is teased since beginning merely end up as plot device while Zenos who i expected would get 'fix' its bland character writer prior to Stormblood end up just same character overall with tiny character development which is i dont think matter much. too bad or the final fight would be much better, could even rival the iconic Cloud vs Sephiroth moment in VII.

    Music is amazing. Soken deliver it again. overall it topped Shadowbringers. amazing work. im glad to be part of the community. experiencing the the game is big 'priveledges'to me since for lot of people, MMO label is biggest barrier for them to try the game. im glad to know and support the developers. it all well pay off in great experience and emotion roller coaster in the game. thank you!    … Expand

    Endwalker somehow did the impossible and topped Shadowbringers. At least in terms of the main story - of course things may change as more endgame content is released. The story pretty much didn't take a single wrong turn, delivering satisfying conclusions, emotional payoffs and enormous surprises in all the right ways. Well done.

    Im 37, played all the major titles. This is the best FF story ever told. I feel Final Fantasy has been asking a question all these years, and Endwalker is the first title to provide an answer.

    Han reworkeado clases, han hecho pequeños cambios a otras y han añadido 2 más, para que toda la gente que juegue encuentre la clase que mas le guste y se    Endwalker es el desenlace que se merece esta historia, que se lleva contando desde que empezó allá en 2010 con la versión 1.0, la cual fue un desastre y poco a poco han ido trabajando en el juego hasta llegar a lo que es a día de hoy.

    En las cinemáticas se nota una mejoría en el movimiento de los personajes.

    One of the best addons ever made. The only downside are the queue's but its normal when the game got rushed by the world of warcraft community. Its a really good game and the best MMORPG right now!

    Final Fantasy XIV was my reintroduction to MMOs after a long hiatus as I have previously only played old school Tibia and Runescape. So, I approached the game mainly as a Final fantasy fan when I started to play a real reborn. To my surprise the game pulls me quickly to the MMO parts of the game with an inviting community and prioritizing Fun above all else. This remains true even in thisFinal Fantasy XIV was my reintroduction to MMOs after a long hiatus as I have previously only played old school Tibia and Runescape. So, I approached the game mainly as a Final fantasy fan when I started to play a real reborn. To my surprise the game pulls me quickly to the MMO parts of the game with an inviting community and prioritizing Fun above all else. This remains true even in this new expansion Endwalker but for me and old time players this is accompanied by a very satisfying feeling that our time spent on the game has meant something due the player actions over the years been represented on this expansion, I am gladly surprised of how the theme of helping others in dark times, keeping hope and the value of life felt retroactively represented in the previous expansions making this complete saga my favorite final fantasy story to date.
    My only regret is that this feeling will not be shared by those who have just recently stated playing the game, however I feel confident than 4+ games of new content still to do for these new players will be a great experience. 10/10    … Expand

    I have been playing FFXIV since 2014. This game has seen me through so many rough times in the last seven years of my life and I have made so many wonderful and irreplaceable friends playing this game that to say it holds a special place in my heart is not an understatement. I've experienced countless different moments in the story, and over the years may have gotten somewhat emotionally attached to a few of the NPCs (Or a lot of them). The Endwalkers early access is the first time in four expansions that I have been able to sit down and play through the game during early access and I was absolutely blown away by the story. Every time I thought I knew where SE was going to go or what they were going to do they absolutely blew me away and turned somewhere unexpected. Throughout the course of the Main Scenario quests I laughed and I cried, I ugly cried a lot. At the end of Shadowbringers I thought SE and Soken would be hard pressed to create a story and the accompanying OST to beat their previous works but they have absolutely gone to the moon and beyond the stars. At this point I have finished the 6.0 MSQ and I know how it goes and even just going through a zone with certain background music will bring me to tears because Soken does suck an unimaginably good job with his music that it still hits just as hard the 10th, 12th, or even 20th time as it did the first time.

    Yoshida and his team know what we like, what we want, what we do. They did the impossible yet again, doing an expansion better than the previous one.

    It only needs one thing to reach true perfection : graphical update. The engine is old (PS3 era I believe) and it brings its fair share of PS3-like issues (pixelated shadows, aliasing, blurriness etc). But everything on the side is so good it doesn't matter much, you either live with it or force SSAA to fix it. (Don't bother with MSAA forced through GPU's control panel, the game doesn't support it)    … Expand

    A story has never impacted me as much as Endwalker and in turn the entirety of FFXIV has. This expansion is the finale to my favorite story of all time, and it nails the landing so well that it feels unreal it was this good. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it for days.

    It's rare that you play a game that you find nothing to complain about. I really enjoyed how SE closed the Hydaelyn/Zodiac arc. The SE team sure can make you feel like you're a player and not a payer!

    One of the best stories I've ever played through, the fact that this is in an MMORPG/RPGMMO just blows my mind. The story alone can be a whole separate game. In terms of the MMO part, this is how every MMO should be, choices (meaningful btw), nothing is timegated, no dumb system and class design on point. Good Job SE! 10/10

    - Endwalker continues that trend. It doesn't quite reach the emotional highs and character nuances that made base Shadowbringers a    - I played another popular MMO for ten years before moving on to FF14 late this summer.     - Endwalker continues that trend. It doesn't quite reach the emotional highs and character nuances that made base Shadowbringers a masterpiece, but it surpasses it in most other regards. The zones, music, and gameplay are great as always. It takes its time world-building and introducing new characters early on which makes it seems tedious/slow, but once it gets going, it's an engaging ride. I had my expectations where the story was going, though after achieving a certain level, it subverted them in almost every enjoyable turn.
    - It's more of a 9 right now, but knowing how past expansions' patches improve upon their respective base game, I'm inclined to just bump this up to a 10.    … Expand

    Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker narratives is not only the best FFXIV expansion but also one of the best stories I have ever seen since the golden days of Final Fantasy VI, VII, VIII, IX, X. The narrative, the way the story was told, and the characters - both good and bad guys, especially the main antagonists are portraited in such a way that you can feel sympathize and understand them. TheFinal Fantasy XIV: Endwalker narratives is not only the best FFXIV expansion but also one of the best stories I have ever seen since the golden days of Final Fantasy VI, VII, VIII, IX, X. The narrative, the way the story was told, and the characters - both good and bad guys, especially the main antagonists are portraited in such a way that you can feel sympathize and understand them. The ending saga of a 10-year story is condensed into 40-50h of amazing gameplay, wonderful music, and cutscenes that truly represent the style of 90s JRPG high-fantasy storytelling. All in all, Shadowbringers and now - Endwalker is the best Final Fantasy - no, mayhaps the best JRPG of all time.

    (This is a non-spoiler review from a person who spent 2000 hours into this game and played a lot of JRPG for a very long time and also, I only review the main scenario quests, the music, and the combat content only.)

    Server issues have been explained transparently and in detail, and a little bit of understanding during a pandemic and a semiconductor shortage doesn't hurt. That being said, this game is PHENOMENAL. It has ascended to become my favorite Final Fantasy, if not my favorite game of all time. Don't let the server login issues mix with the actual quality and merit of this game: it is transcendent.

Even waiting hours upon hours to get into the server isn't that big of a deal unless you are a cry baby karen like those cry babies that gave the game zero. What is complete and utterly trash are some of the story Questa. The stealth quest is legit complete and total trash. The unknown imperial quest is legit worst than super man for nintendoThe music is amazing. The new areas beautiful.     I had no idea how they would manage to write an even better story than Shadowbringers, and yet it blew it out of the water and beyond. I have never felt such strong emotions playing a video game until Endwalker. Thank you for such an amazing ride! I look forward to everything to come in the future.

    Sometimes great things must come to an end and this story-driven JRPG MMO finishes our long journey in FFXIV. Hopefully this marks as new beginning for what we could experience in world of Eorzea.

    That's why I love FF14, that's the FF14 I want to play and fell in love. It all begins as a one simple adventure and finally, I finished my work as a hero and become that normal guy to enjoy what I've seen in this journey. However, Our Journey Never End.

    If there is a comparison to make, I would say that Endwalker is to FFXIV what Endgame was to the MCU. It is the perfect ending to a 12 years saga (because yes, even 1.0 veterans will see nods that will make them smile) but it, unfortunately, suffers from pacing issues due to its conclusive nature. Often you'll feel impatient as the story takes a break, sometime in the middle of an urgentIf there is a comparison to make, I would say that Endwalker is to FFXIV what Endgame was to the MCU. It is the perfect ending to a 12 years saga (because yes, even 1.0 veterans will see nods that will make them smile) but it, unfortunately, suffers from pacing issues due to its conclusive nature. Often you'll feel impatient as the story takes a break, sometime in the middle of an urgent situation, to address points that would normally be in the epilogue of any other work. Zenos being at the center of the story also makes it so that a lot of your enjoyment will depend on your tolerance of the character, even though they were smart to switch this story to make it more about him being your mirror than his own character.
    That being said, outside of these issues, the game is near perfect. You really feel the improvement of the cinematography of cutscenes, with them flexing the... well flexibility of the models to a point we didn't see since 1.0. The new zones are gorgeous, Masayoshi Soken's genius is dumbfounding as not only there is an incredible number of new tracks, but also none of them miss the mark. The surprises of the narrative do not feel as if coming out of nowhere despite taking a wild turn, even when comparing it to Shadowbringer and all the new characters are endearing.
    But the most impressive side of this expansion narrative-wise is that they managed to breathe new life into our Warrior of Light.
    A bit of background: Before starting Endwalker, when talking with other players, many of them (not to say a majority) felt tired of, or more like "for", their characters. After all, it's been 10 years for most of us that we see our Warrior of Light take hit after hit, Shadowbringer being really emotionally draining. With this expansion being trumpeted as the end of the saga, many of us felt it was a good moment to end our character stories and give them well-deserved retirements.
    But that ending man. Yes, it brings closure to this 10-year-old story, but it also brings so much life to this world and repositions our Warrior of Light in it. I dare you to consider your character story over with Endwalker.
    It's been a long journey, but it really felt that, as they say, "to Begin, we first must see the End"    … Expand

    The combat of the new job reaper is so insanely smooth and satisfying to play (in regards of visuals, sound and flow), that i decided to main it from now on. As for the sage i have not played it yet. Combat design in dungeons and trials are as always very good and fun to play and should not be too hard for casuals. Every trial boss in Endwalker feels so grand that it could be a final boss of a whole expansion in themselves.

    The art direction in the zones, dungeons and trials are phenomenal as well. Every zone is beautifully crafted and one is prettier than the other.

    As for the OST. I can't put it into words how incredible Soken and his magic hands/mind are which composed this OST. Every track supplements the feelings you get from the story and visuals so well.

    Overall everything seems to fall into place for Endwalker and ends a 10 year old ongoing story with a worthy ending. Which makes me very excited about the future of FF XIV.    … Expand

    the Story is 10/10, everything is explained while your doing the MSQ you do not need to wonder or buy books to understand it KEKW. The Music is amazing. I have seen people talk about the pacing of the story. Personally I did not see any problems. yes the story is long. there are some log queue's to log in to the game. but 1-2 weeks these problems will go away. and the story is still gold

    Amazing story, and great content so far.

    Biggest suprise is the increase in dungeon difficulty, helping keep the grind of other classes and dailies interesting. Only downside is that the story has some pacing issues, leaving the player out of any content for at least hours at a time.

This one is by far the best expansion I have played of any MMO and overall a better game than most standalone games. It is clear that the development team loves their game.     I laughed, I cried, and then cried again. amazing work as always FFXIV.

    The story is second to none 9 out of 10
    The gameplay expands on SB with great new additions 10 out of 10
    The Boss fights are incredible 10 out of 10
    The music I really wish I could give a higher score but 10 out of 10

    This game has helped so many people in rough times of their lives. It deserves so much praise.

    I don't really like MMO's and was always bitter an MMO took the place of a SP numbered FF but having now played from start to finish recently it's now one of my favorite FF's of all time. What an amazing ride and an amazing tribute to my favorite series.

    I worried about EW before I completed EW. SHB was extremely outstanding, and all characters were awesome. I worried if EW can follow up with SHB. But it was useless. During EW, I was impressed and cried about how all stories are connected, and how EW ended. I played FFXIV for long time, but I will miss this Hyd vs Zord story. I will miss all characters. Definitely recommend to everyone.

    Better story than Shadowbringers. Dungeons are also better, boss dungeons have more interesting mechanics, MSQ duties are also a big improvement. Overall it improves on Shadowbringers in almost every way.

    The Endwalker story is top notch. An absolute roller coaster of highs and lows. Not only a great finale in itself but moreover makes the previous expansion Shadowbringers even more impactful and purposeful.

    This expansion has a lot of story and also has a lot of side stuff to do, overall FFXIV has a lot of rich lore and content, and if you've been with it a month or 10 years, you'll find this story wonderful and engaging, Endwalker is no exception being the culmination of 10 years of story, i cried, i wish i could wipe my mind and replay it, NewGame+ when?

    Aside from the server issues, which should not be included in ur review btw. This expansion is absolutely the best story I have experienced in any video game. The new additions to jobs, systems, new ost, raids and trials are absolutely amazing without a doubt. This sets the new benchmark for an mmo expansion.

    I absolutely loved all of the sidequests in this expansion. There was so much to explore in each and every area. I am amazed at how they got it all done in 2 years.

    Radz-at-Han and Old Sharlayan were talked about so much in past expansions, and it was great getting to go to these places and find out what was up. Like I remember almost being annoyed at how much it rained in Thavnair;    I absolutely loved all of the sidequests in this expansion. There was so much to explore in each and every area. I am amazed at how they got it all done in 2 years.

    Radz-at-Han and Old Sharlayan were talked about so much in past expansions, and it was great getting to go to these places and find out what was up. Like I remember almost being annoyed at how much it rained in Thavnair; and then I remembered the thavnairian rain we had to collect to upgrade stormblood resistance materials. Same with Sharlayan and finally finding out how all the scions got their tattoos. Aside from the main msq, the devs really did go back and make sure that all those sub plot points and lore were handled particularly well.    … Expand

    If you didn’t like FFXIV before now, Endwalker will do nothing to change your mind. But if you’re in, this emotional rollercoaster will be rolling towards a satisfying conclusion, that absolutely will not disappoint.

    FFXIV is currently the best MMORPG available. The main reason is because it’s RPG first, MMO second. The story isn’t just an afterthought, but an integral part of the experience, and everything else revolves around the tale of the Warrior of Light. It’s logical, well-planned, and presented with great, voiced (or not) cut-scenes.
