    Endwalker is truly an epic adventure. The great story told in this expansion had me captivated from beginning to end. Character development (for the most part, unfortunatly not far all important characters) and emotional highs are good executed.

    However, I must admit that certain aspects of Endwalker seemed questionable. It appeared as if some content had been cut, as noted by other    Endwalker is truly an epic adventure.     However, I must admit that certain aspects of Endwalker seemed questionable. It appeared as if some content had been cut, as noted by other critics. This occasionally left a slightly unsatisfying impression, as I felt that some storylines were not fully developed.

    One of the highlights of this game in general is undoubtedly the player housing. The ability to customize your own home is a fantastic feature. However, I am disappointed that you are still forced to maintain a paid subscription to retain your house. This restricts the freedom to take breaks without the fear of losing your home, which, in my opinion, is not an ideal solution.

    As for the post-Endwalker patches, I must admit that they have a rather lackluster story. In particular, the character Zero did not impress me. I hope that in the upcoming expansion, Dawntrail, we can look forward to better stories and characters and hopefully without Zero.

    Overall, Endwalker is an impressive expansion with a gripping narrative for the most part. Despite some shortcomings in execution, I am excited about the future and hopeful for more epic adventures.    … Expand

    I've read some of the reviews here and it seems I'm not alone in this opinion. The story's quality takes a sharp decline after the final battle against Zenos and the return of the scions to Sharlayan. It almost feels like completely new writers took over.
    They keep throwing new enemies at us one after another and as soon as they appear, they're killed off. Sometimes even within the same patch, making it impossible to form any connection to the characters.

    Enix has unfortunately killed off all the previous cool enemies, but at least they had some lore built around them. The only exception is Zenos, who, as has been criticized here many times, was somehow left out until the end. Just when you'd expect his redemption arc to finally begin, he's removed again. A questionable decision, to say the least. As epic as the battle against him may have been, we were given almost nothing about this character.
    Given the high expectations around FF14's character building, it was a huge disappointment that this seems to be all there was to him.

    To get back to the post-Endwalker experience, as I said, new enemies are practically thrown at us and then wiped out in the blink of an eye. This is not what I would call high-quality writing.
    The only character who gets lore built around them is Zero. But Zero is such an unbearable edge queen that it's hard to get used to her. She constantly comes across as an emo who needs to be coddled by everyone because she's had it so tough. And that's all we get from her. The task of coddling her around the clock is not everyone's cup of tea. Certainly not mine.

    With the post-Endwalker experience, this game has somehow lost its spice.
    Well, let's see what the future holds. I would still recommend FF14 to anyone who hasn't yet experienced the really good story.    … Expand

    What can I say? Pretty neat.
    Player housing and the story are both great and the reason why I play this game. Both have room for improvement of course, but like others already said, you won't find another mmo with such high quality out there.

    Player housing needs way more placeable items, it should be possible to place items on all other objecs, being forced to stay sub in order to kepp a house is not fun and it should be easier for all players to get a house, not just a handful. Apartments are nice and all, but compared to a house? Not so much.
    In regards to the story, again, I agree with other people when it comes to a certain prince. Why tease such a promising story arc for him with dozens of unanswered questions and then just end it? Major disappointment right here, in case he really doesn't show up again in the next expansion or at least give us hints, that he survived and will return someday. The way it stands now? Just disappointing.

    Though Endwalker and the devs deserve a solid 9, anyway for the joy this game gave me.    … Expand

    Final Fantasy 14 has by far the best story among all current MMORPGs. The quality when it comes to this aspect doesn't even come close in other MMOs.

    However, there are also things in FF14 that unfortunately bother me a bit. Especially when playing more modern games like Baldur's Gate 3. Of course, I know it's not fair to compare an RPG with an MMORPG. An MMORPG inevitably has to have a    Final Fantasy 14 has by far the best story among all current MMORPGs.     However, there are also things in FF14 that unfortunately bother me a bit. Especially when playing more modern games like Baldur's Gate 3. Of course, I know it's not fair to compare an RPG with an MMORPG. An MMORPG inevitably has to have a single ending that's the same for everyone. In an RPG like Baldur's Gate 3, there's the freedom to provide players with an individual ending based on their decisions throughout their journey.
    Something like that is probably just difficult to implement in an MMO. But in FF14, there are so many moments where the wol/player character behaves in a way that's as foolish as can be, that it can be quite exhausting at times.

    As I've seen others complain about here, in FF14 it often ends with the enemy being defeated and that's more or less the end of the story. Instead of giving the respective character a chance for a redemption arc after the battle.
    If it happens once in a while... okay, you can't make everyone turn to the good side, but in FF14, it's a constant occurrence, which is why interesting characters are shot down one after another. Not really enjoyable... Especially in Endwalker, this was noticeable with Zenos, of course. This character is probably the definition of wasted potential.
    He was built up very promisingly, only to be thrown to the wind again in the end. An epic anime-style battle is cool and I did enjoy it, but then to just end it again and introduce new characters and enemies out of nowhere? Nah...

    And to get back to the WoL, here, you simply can't act freely. When the player is asked a question, you almost always have the choice between "Yes, I'll do that" and "Okay, I'll do that." The available options don't have any differences that would even remotely influence the course of the story or the relationships with NPCs.
    As I said, I know that the immersion and freedom present in Baldur's Gate 3 can't be fully implemented in FF14, but I still hope that with upcoming expansions, they'll bring in a bit more diversity. I also hope, like others, that they'll bring back some of their wasted characters.
    Currently, I find the story a bit bland with the newly introduced characters.

    I'm looking forward to the upcoming expansion, of course, but I think a bit of criticism now and then can't hurt either. Like I said in the first sentence, the story is really good, but you can't really derive much feedback from "everything is great," so I wanted to mention what I don't quite agree with.

    I love the story.
    Was really sad because of the end of Emet and Elidibus and really hope they'll return. Was very disappointed because of Zenos' end. Like... why bring him back, tease a very promising arc and an interesting development and then write him out of the story again? Really hoping we didn't see him the last time. Please bring him back and continue his story.    Amazing game!

I only wish that owning a house wouldn't be tied to an active subscription.     The story in this game is full of finesse.
    The writers really know what they're doing. Many characters have grown very dear to me. It's even sadder when you have to let so many go. In fact, I agree with some of the criticism already expressed by others regarding the ending of Endwalker and thus the end of our blond friend and foe. His ending feels very undeserved and leaves numerous questions unanswered, as previously noted.
    For example, the question of why he has been dreaming of the final days since his childhood. Or what Fandaniel meant when he referred to Zenos: "Could Emet-Selch have found a way?" What does he mean by that? Did Emet conduct experiments on Zenos? And if so, what kind? Is that the reason why Zenos is as strong as the Warrior of Light? Could that even explain his unnatural height? Questions upon questions. So I really hope that wasn't the end for him and he will return in the next expansion.

    The playable races are mostly very good, but they could have a bit more customization options.

    This is an epic conclusion for an epic game, i had the opportunity to play FFXIV since patch 2.1 and is perfect, lovely, the game works perfectly and the story is pure gold ( for an MMORPG standard) i highly recommend this game if you like this kind of videogames 10/10

    I am a relatively new FFXIV player and after completing the main story, I also want to write a bit about it. I agree with many points from other comments on this platform.

    The story is probably the best in the MMORPG genre that I have ever played through and other MMOs don't even come close to the quality of FFXIV.     However, there are also many things that I don't consider to be as good. As others have mentioned, FFXIV has a significant problem with killing off characters. Don't get me wrong, not every character needs a redemption arc, but it has happened so frequently that characters are killed off rather than given a chance at redemption that it has reached a point where I personally find it quite frustrating.

    This was the case with the Ascians, who were shot into the oven and then ultimately, as criticized by others as well, with Zenos. They killed him, then brought him back and you think, okay, maybe he'll finally get his redemption arc, only to seemingly discard him again. It becomes quite exhausting after a while.
    Now, after the main story, in the following smaller content updates, they introduced the new character Zero, who apparently is supposed to serve as a replacement... but provides a pretty poor substitute and honestly gets on your nerves more than contributes to the entertainment.

    So, that's really a point in FFXIV that bothers me. This constant killing off of characters. The new expansion has been announced and one can only hope that they will bring back some of the characters, because the current cast, which we have to live with until mid-next year... isn't my favorite.

    Now, that might have sounded very negative, but that's actually my main criticism. Otherwise, I wouldn't give the game an 8/10. Overall, there are many very good moments and I can wholeheartedly recommend this game.    … Expand

    However, I believe it's always important to express criticism when there are areas for improvement, so I'd like to do that.

    Firstly, concerning Player Housing, I think it's great to have so many options, but it's quite tedious to acquire a house in the first place.
    Being forced to pay a subscription every month to keep the house is also not ideal. I wish we could retain our houses even if we take breaks from the game.
    Additionally, placing items on elevated objects is a hassle and it often requires a lot of tricks to make it work. This aspect could be made much more user-friendly.
    Finally, I would appreciate it if the number of objects that can be placed, will significantly be increased.

    Regarding the story, I agree with some of the points made by previous speakers here. As good as the story is, FF14 unfortunately has a problem with removing almost all the interesting characters.
    As others have noted, this is particularly noticeable with Zenos, a character with a lot of potential and many unanswered questions. Moreover, after three expansions, he was on the verge of taking a better path, but ultimately, this potential was left untapped.
    It's sad to see well-developed characters being let go, but it's even more disappointing when a character with untold stories and unfulfilled potential is removed. If he had joined the Scions for example, it would have opened up many new possibilities and certainly been very entertaining. It's just a pity how it ended in Endwalker.
    I know that nothing in FF14 needs to be permanent, so there might be a future for characters like Zenos, Elidibus, Emet, and others where they return. However, if not, it would be a rather disappointing aspect in an otherwise well-written story.

    My third point concerns character customization.
    While there are many choices available, I really wish we had more options for faces. The current selection is quite limited. Also, when it comes to Elezen, I'd like to be able to adjust the length of their necks and make them shorter. And in terms of height, I'd appreciate an increased range between tall and short body height.

    Overall, though, I am genuinely very happy with this game.

    Wow, just wow. I did not know how they would top the previous expansion of Shadowbringers but they did. Story went way over the edge and gave the best laughs and crying so far. Another expansion I wish I could play all over again with no memory.

Man, I must say, what a joy that is, and FFXIV is just a labour of love from the developers.     What can I say? The music, the message, the Battle system, the colors (finally better and meaningful). I can't imagine a game so good that the only bad side is that you need to play a lot, from Realm Reborn until Endwalker, to understand the message and meaning, while enjoying an awesome game.
    It's an experience that I suggest to everyone.

    However, the SHB might be feel more amazing for someone with shorter time players.

This character is just too central to overlook how Enix handled him.
    So much potential was wasted with him, and it's truly sad. There are dozens of unanswered questions, no insights into the character's development, or, as I have seen others mention, blatantly obvious questions like why he and his father are unnaturally tall. Fandaniel also hinted at things that suggest Emet might have experimented on him. Among other things, our prince repeatedly mentions the final days in his dreams, unlike others. There are just so many unresolved aspects about this character, and ultimately, it's disappointing that he was written out without much further exploration.
    I really don't understand why he didn't take Zero's place in the wol's group later on in the story to learn new things. It would have been a hundred times more interesting than what we have now.

    But well, that's actually my biggest criticism. I could add smaller things about certain other characters, but I suppose it would make this review too long.

    Lovely lore with many awesome characters (I think the only ones I don't really like are Papalymo, Fordola and the new character Zero, which is rather annoying to be honest, I hope she won't stay that relevant).
    Lovely player housing.

    Graphic: 6/10 - Not very appealing in my opinion. Especially animal and beast tribe npcs look rather awful. Enviroment could be better, too. And there are invisible walls.

    Customization options: 8/10 - A lot to choose from, but there should be more, especially for faces.

    Music: 7/10 - It's fine. Some themes are better than others.

    Community: 8/10 - Really nice player community.

    Content: 9/10 - A lot to do in this game.

    Devs: 9/10

Rien que pour cela, il vaut la peine de jouer à ce jeu. Il commence un peu lentement, mais il devient de plus en plus intéressant. Maintenant, après l'histoire principale d'Endwalker, cela devient un peu plus ennuyeux avec la nouvelleUn jeu fantastique. L'histoire est très captivante et émouvante, et c'est certainement la meilleure histoire parmi tous les MMO actuellement existants. Rien que pour cela, il vaut la peine de jouer à ce jeu. Il commence un peu lentement, mais il devient de plus en plus intéressant. Maintenant, après l'histoire principale d'Endwalker, cela devient un peu plus ennuyeux avec la nouvelle histoire centrée sur Zero, et je ne m'attache pas vraiment à ce nouveau personnage.     Endwalker was absolutely fantastic. The story is breathtaking. Honestly, I've never seen such an amazing story in any other game. Of course, there are some things where I would have liked more or seen them differently, but all in all, it's really great.

Absolute must-play if you like Final Fantasy, as you could very easily go through 90% of the game solo even, not playing with a single other human player. Game serves the story to a T, and director Yoshi P has proven to Square Enix that this game needs not to have huge pushes for monetization in order for them to make millions. A rare instanceOne of the best MMORPG's you can play, ever. Absolute must-play if you like Final Fantasy, as you could very easily go through 90% of the game solo even, not playing with a single other human player. Game serves the story to a T, and director Yoshi P has proven to Square Enix that this game needs not to have huge pushes for monetization in order for them to make millions. A rare instance in modern, AAA game design, and a director that actually cares about making a truly good game. It speaks for itself to make the continual dollars, unlike any gacha game and 90% of other MMORPG's available right now, as much as people would try and cope with the idea of this not being the reality, and that means a lot.     The only downside I find with Endwalker is that Zenos seemingly disappears at the end. This character still holds so many unanswered questions, and they barely touched on anything. Why did he keep seeing the final days in his dreams? How could he become as strong as the Warrior of Light, even though he seemingly doesn't possess as many soul fragments? Why is his body unnaturally large? Did Emet possibly conduct some experiments on him? It wouldn't be the first time he experimented on a baby; just look at what Emet did in Shadowbringers. But, as I said, they give us next to nothing, and then it's over. Apart from that, Zenos would complement the team really well if he had a redemption arc. I can imagine many funny and interesting moments, but yeah, nothing happened, and I found that very disappointing.

    In general, what bothers me in the game is that you have to kill enemies so often. It wasn't any different with Emet and Elidibus, and now they're all gone. I don't like the approach, even though the story is otherwise very well-written.

    On the other hand, the new stuff with Zero is rather mediocre. Zero is just a walking cliché, and honestly, it annoys me every time she's around. Hopefully, she will take a backseat in the next expansion. I would prefer to see old characters taking the spotlight again.    … Expand

    Regarding player housing, I hope in the future they will make it easier for us to place things, especially when it comes to putting things on a gallery and such, etc. Unfortunately, that can't be done without some tricks, and it can take forever to get it right. It's also a bit annoying to even get a house with the high demand. That should definitely be addressed as well.

    Honestly, I find the new islands a bit boring so far. I understand that they don't want to completely shift player housing to the islands, but currently, it's quite limited on one's own island, especially in terms of things to do.

    I also wish they would improve the customization options for characters. Especially when it comes to faces and adjustable body size or those annoyingly long necks on the Elezen, which ruin the whole race for me.

    Overall, though, this is my absolute favorite MMORPG.    … Expand

    However, the quality unfortunately drops rapidly in the epilogue, after the main story where you have your big final battle and then return home. I see it very similarly to others here. It's like having a moody teenager girl constantly complaining about being a victim and trying too hard to be edgy, that is now following you everywhere. Somehow, it lacks the spice after the main story. Even this whole "peace, joy, and happiness" between former enemies... it's just a bit too much for the past few months. I really miss the main story and the characters that were still present in it like Emet, Hermes, Zenos, Hythladeus... even Fandaniel was more entertaining than the new characters.

    But let's see what the next expansion brings. I think I'll take a break until then. I tried the new patch today, but unfortunately, it has the same problem as the previous ones. It's just not my cup of tea.

    Player housing is just so much fun once you get a house. It could be a little easier to get a house, and players should really be allowed to place more objects in the houses. While there is already a lot, it could still be improved.

    I'm not really a fan of the graphics, though. While there are beautiful places, the world seems a bit too artificial to me.

    Customization options are pretty good, but there's always room for improvement.

    I don't find the playable races particularly exciting. I would like to see more diversity there.

    The epilogue has been rather boring so far, with uninteresting new characters. For some, it may not be bad and may serve as a relaxing break after the action-packed expansion Endwalker, though.

    Raids, etc. are also available, but I won't comment on them as they are more incidental to me.

    I can really recommend this game to anyone who wants to experience a really good story and have fun with things like player housing and the like.    … Expand

    Like others, I'm a little sad that Zenos doesn't seem to have the opportunity to join the Scions despite his interesting development at the end of Endwalker. It could have led to a really interesting group dynamic, where they finally teach him how to behave more socially, and his body height would have led to some funny situations.
    Unfortunately, it seems like they've thrown that possibility out the window. It was really epic towards the end, but there should have been more with him afterwards.

    Especially since new characters like Zero can't really measure up and are too clichéd for my taste. I agree with my fellow reviewers on this point.

    Player housing is really cool, but I also agree with others who say that you can only place too few items in your house, and it can be pretty difficult to even get a house in the first place.

    The islands would be a nice method to allow player housing for all players, but they're still far from that. Basically, you can only move the same handful of buildings to different places, which is pretty boring. Since animals in this game don't look that good, it's not really fun to catch them either.

    Overall, though, I fell in love with this game thanks to the story, and I hope that it will get really good again soon after a rather weak epilogue to Endwalker, and hopefully some characters will return who unfortunately were written out of the story.    … Expand

While the story admittedly started a bit slow in ARR, it began to get really exciting towards the end with the fight against the Garleans and the Crystal Tower. Also, when the player character is accused of murder and has to flee,    Final Fantasy 14 is by far the best MMORPG I have ever played.
    The story is simply fabulous and there have been numerous moments that have moved me to tears. While the story admittedly started a bit slow in ARR, it began to get really exciting towards the end with the fight against the Garleans and the Crystal Tower. Also, when the player character is accused of murder and has to flee, only to be taken in by our gracious friend Haurchefant and thereafter deal with the problems in Ishgard.
    The story just has so many fantastic moments and characters; Graha Tia, Haurchefant, Aymeric, Nero, Emet, Hermes, Cid, Zenos, Alphinaud, Estinien, Jullus, the list goes on. Even up to Endwalker, the story keeps getting better, even though it's already heart-wrenching in Heavensward.

    Sure, there are moments that I would have liked to be better. I've seen some criticize that Zenos should have more development and especially a continuation after Endwalker, and in that regard, I completely agree. But overall, this game has done a really excellent job so far. Especially compared to other MMORPGs, FF14 is simply unbeatable. With newer characters like Zero, I can't really do much yet, but I'm sure that things will be looking up in the next expansion, and I'm very curious to see where the journey will take us.

    In terms of story, definitely a 10 out of 10, and that's what's most important to me.

    Other areas, on the other hand, could use improvement. This includes graphics when it comes to nature, etc. There are indeed many modern customization options for characters, which also puts them ahead of other games, but even here, as others have criticized, there is room for improvement, especially when it comes to faces.     To me, this is THE best story in ffxiv. Heavensward was my favorite up until this point, but Endwalker takes the cake by a mile. I teared up quite a few times throughout the MSQ. It's such a nice send off to the story this far.

Playing ff14 made me realise just how bad world of warcraft overall is.

    Not everything is perfect though.

    Player housing:
    The amount of items for apartments and houses are too few.
    The requirement of staying subbed to keep a house is really bad.

    Graphics:
    While customizations are very, very good in comparison to wow, there could still be more variety, especially regarding face options.
    Creatures in this world, and I am sorry to say that, look really ugly. I wish they would give animal npcs an overall overhaul. Ecept for Chocobos, who look gorgeous.
    Invisible walls feel really weird for me.

    Islands:
    Those little marionettes kinda creep me out. I really wish we could remove them and put our own npcs on the island.    … Expand

    Not to mention that we didn't really learn all too much about his character over the last couple of years. So it really feels as if we would miss out on a lot, if there doesn't come any more content with him. :(

    Another small criticism would be housing. I would love to own a house. However I don't want to stay subbed to this game non-stop. Even though I like ff, I certainly want to take breaks every now and then. So that is really something that bothers me about the otherwise really nice player housing feature in this game.
    In case anyone of Square Enix' team reads this, please consider expanding your housing system, so that there would be no need for a constant sub.    … Expand

    Player houing is amazing! However I don't like that you have to be constantly be subbed in order to keep your house. That's not how you should treat your players. Please make houses available for all players, not just a few, so players don't feel forced to keep subbed for each and every month. Also increase the number of items we can put in our apartment and house. Other than that housing in this game is simply amazing.

    Customization options for playable races.
    While the number of customizations is certainly more than in other mmos, which add like 3 hair colors every few years, it still is rather underwhelming. Especially considering face options you have way too little in ff14. The body sliders are nice, but the range between big and small could be bigger. On a personal note, I really which they would give an option to make the Elezen neck shorter. They kinda look like giraffes. Also the tail of Miquote doesn't really look good and rather like pixel mush.

    Graphics need to be more polished and I'm not really a fan of invisible walls either. It kinda breaks the immersion.

    Story:
    Only 2 things.
    First of, Haurchefant's end felt very unnecessary. Yes, it was very emotional, but I can't help but feel that it shouldn't have ended there. I love his "appearances" throughout the story up to Endwalker, but due to the unnessesary end I still wish he would come back somehow, if they are able to write such a story well.

    Second point would be Zenos. Especially with Endwalker I had high hopes for a redemption arc and it is sad to see, that his story went nowhere in the end. I still have a ton of questions about him, his past, his connection to Emet, why he and his father are bigger than everyone else... and many more. I feel like the end, even though it was very epic, was a let down and leaves you kinda hollow.

    But still, this is a very good game and I am looking forward what the future will hold for Final Fantasy.    … Expand

    Minus 1 point for the wasted potential with Zenos. There are still so many open questions about him and the potential to walk a better path in the future, but I guess they kinda ruined his future with the end of Endwalker. The dialog with the wol and all was great, but just ending his arc is really disappointing.

    Simply put a masterwork in story telling. Combat feels better than ever. There's an insane amount of content in this game (everything is Evergreen so even ARR stuff is still relevant). Community is pretty good (not as toxic as some MMOs but...still in the internet so...). Overall, the ShB/EW arc and content    After a year of playing I figure I'd toss a coin to my Witcher (YoshiP).

    I thought it would be impossible for FFXIV to top Shadowbringers. I was wrong.

    Endwalker was so impactful that as soon as I finished it I booted up my alt and started replaying from the beginning, so I could get the full impact of Endwalker again. Every time I hear Close in the Distance or fight The Endsinger or Zodiark, half of the battle is not crying.

    Would have been nice to have a different ending. The way it ended the story of Zenos felt a bit pointless. Finally his character started to get interesting and then... gone again. Very disappointing, if he really doesn't show up again in the future.
    Other than that a solid expansion.

    Minus one point, because I was really disappointed that there was no real conclusion for Zenos' story. I don't understand why they brought him back and then did almost nothing with his arc.

    Final Fantasy XIV is actually the best game I ever played in my whole life. Great sound design, amazing story and voice-acting, the musics are just perfect. The game looks really nice, the graphics are great even low, you can get an awesome gameplay too if you wish to play with everything high. Trust me, you must try it, there is so much love going through that game.

    Coming to this expansion from finishing Shadowbringers one can scarcely imagine the story getting better, but somehow it gets done. The way the different story arcs come together and conclude in such a manner that respects the character development and plot build up all the way up to this point makes this feel like it was written by a genius.     I really love the story and there are so many great characters in this game.
    I really hope though that we will see more of Zenos in the future. There still could be so much to discover about him.     After all, he just needs to learn how to feel. He probably never made that many positive experiences in his life, so he focused on this one positive feeling he had during the fight with the wol.

    Overall, this is a complete Expansion. Bringing new stories, features, and even new PvP modes. Overall it's a great expansion, but I don't want to spoil anything. As a person who doesn't enjoy much Lore/Story, then this expansion still feels excellent!

    An expansion that manages to finish a decade-long story arc in one of the most inspiring, beautiful and exciting ways possible. There were big shoes to fill following the Shadowbringers expansion, and Endwalker does just that and more. FF14 shows that the bar has been raised substantially for the MMO genre, and story-telling in general, creating a world that's hard not to come back to.

    Amazing expansion, definitely lived up to the hype. Imo it has the best regions of any expansion. The dungeons and trials are amazing as well equal or better to the other expansions for me. The story is very very good but I still prefer Shadowbringers story slightly. The music was amazing as well about equal to SHBs amazing music.

    Incredible jrpg first, addicting mmo second.
    Endwalker ends the saga like noone can in current media.
    Mmo part isnt grindy at all, you just play the way you want to, and it is very refreshing to come back every one's in a while and find new things to do)
    Recomended for every story enjoyer and mmo veteran

    I was very skeptical if they can finish the story on a high note, since lately every entertainment product messes up the ending retroactively ruining the whole experience. Not here, this was an extremely well made and polished journey with the best ending one could have hoped, but not expect at all.

The twists and turns you get into, the incredible places you'll visit, the god-tier soundtrack, and a satisfying ending to a 10 year story. There were some gut punches in Shadowbringers, but I think Endwalker delivers some KOs inI had loft expectations for this game from the masterpiece that was Shadowbringers. Some of the new characters are some of my very favorite ever in this game. The twists and turns you get into, the incredible places you'll visit, the god-tier soundtrack, and a satisfying ending to a 10 year story. There were some gut punches in Shadowbringers, but I think Endwalker delivers some KOs in spades. The new jobs are great and most jobs got some really solid QoL, with more on the way in a month or so.

    I think if you have been a long time fan of FF and haven't gotten your toes wet with an MMO, now is a good time to start. You'll wish you tried this game sooner.    … Expand

    I will update this review with the real score once Squenix decides to add more EU servers, because as things stand, a lot of people are unable to play the game due to massive queues, queue errors that put you right back at the end, as well as crashes that inevitably lead back to the queue. This situation is ongoing for over almost 10 days now and it's getting sickening!     After a slow start with FF14 ARR, Yoshi-P team reached the pinnacle of MMORPGs in 2022 releasing their best expansion to date. Carrying the legendary Uematsu's legacy on his shoulders, Soken scored one of the best OST in videogame history. EW is gem full of feels and epic moments, the end of your journey and the beginning of a new era.

Endwalker is not just an expansion,It's a journey,It's a very unforgettable experience.I laughed and cried throughout my entire playthrough.The Writing and the story is a masterpiece,I like every decision,foreshadowing and twist they make every single time (The fandaniel-zodiark part and the elpis arc final scene).The message of the story was delivered perfectly and I resonance with it untill now.The pacing is great almost all the time and when it's slowing down (Second trip to sharlayan before boarding the Ragnarok comes to mind), there's a big payoff in the end to make up for that (Urianger and moenbryda parents scene,The twin father revealed the truth and how much he cared about them).The character in this expansion work so well.All the scion got their own moment and time to shine,Zenos become my favourite character and venat show us what it means to be a strong female character.The dungeon in endwalker is fun as hell to do,the music is a banger,the mechanics is on point and the design is really well crafted.The map and the environment is masterfully crafted,i like every part of the new map and my personal favourite is garlemald and ultima thule.My favourite part of the story is the final scene with venat (hydaelyn form),after countless trial and struggle,we make it to the end and proved ourselves worthy to her of our conviction and that we will save the star.It will do her a disservice to not create a dedicated part of this review for her,and it's for venat.She is the best character in this story and it's really hard for me to say that because endwalker is full of great characters (Zenos is still personal favourite).Her struggle,conviction and love for the star is what make her so great,every scenes with her is amazing.Her being a primal and her lack of communication since heavensward make me suspicious and cautious towards her since Shadowbringers but it will seems my suspicion is misplaced because if anything,I underestimated the love she have for the Star and for her children.I can keep writing and writing but i want to keep it as short as possible and this review is already long enough as it is and with that,i conclude my review for this masterpiece… Expand

    Since 1997, FFVII has been my favourite Final Fantasy. No longer. Endwalker is a heartwarming, heartrending, sublime cap to the 8-10 year Zodiark/Hydaelyn story and an all-round amazing experience. This game is simply one of the best in the business.

    The underlying truth the story tries to tell is relatable to just about anyone and the execution is perfect. Not only does it tie up all the of expansions but also pays tribute to the original 1.0.

    I have never played any other Final Fantasy game before and enjoyed the story a lot more than I could have ever expected.
    Lots of other people only reviewing the story here and giving it a 10/10 (rightfully so) should already tell you just how amazing it is.

    I've played more MMOs than I can count. FFXIV wins the prize for story, especially the parts authored by Natsuko Ishikawa. Unlike many JRPGs, these characters are adults with Western facial features and body language confronting complex issues with an uplifting overall theme. Highly recommended for all ages.

    Epic conclusion! Loved it. They made this expansion with love. Can't wait for the next set of story. Added classes is great too. Combat still needs to be faster though.

    Would like to see another level of graphics (as optional) for higher end PCs.

    Amazing series and the ending of an era.
    FFXIV makes me so emotional and the story is so touching.
    I cried out of joy and emotion.
    Even more, the content of the story rises to the level of philosophy in this expansion.
    It's a story that is definitely a miraculous tribute to the life of a man who strives to live.
    It's so far the best game/ novel I've ever seen in my life.

    this is the best FFXIV has been, it ties up all the threads set up in previous expansions and finishes with a satisfying conclusion, the second to last zone is the best this game has ever been, i was in narrative heaven for that entire segment of the expansion. the final zone while a little cliche works well with the elements set up earlier in the expac.
    every new zone, was gorgeous and i    this is the best FFXIV has been, it ties up all the threads set up in previous expansions and finishes with a satisfying conclusion, the second to last zone is the best this game has ever been, i was in narrative heaven for that entire segment of the expansion. the final zone while a little cliche works well with the elements set up earlier in the expac.
    every new zone, was gorgeous and i enjoyed their aesthetic with only the third one being a bit benign, the aether currents were also not too frustrating to collect unlike in Stormblood.

The servers are holding up under the massive amount of players trying to get in, which can lead to a bit of queue-time, but the servers are stable and not laggy which is a feat in itself.

    Initially, I avoided getting into FFXIV because it looked like 'just WoW with an FF skin, and I'm already invested in WoW and have all this cosmetic stuff'- the game is nothing like WoW. They've flipped the entire genre, you don't grind a dozen things for months just to get the gear and systems needed to be competent enough to do the only fun things in the game- everything in the game is fun, and anything grindy is off to the side that you can do if you like it and want its cosmetics.

    I hope, after almost two decades of mmos trying to be wow clones and dying because the wow formula is awful unless someone is already addicted- mmos start to look at this 'content is meant to be fun, not addicting' mindset behind FFXIV.

It's got a few lulls, but it's storytelling that brings me back to the wonder of games like FFX so many years ago, and the highs are so high that I can't rate this anything but a 10.     While having some minor pacing stumbles, this game is a storytelling masterpiece—an unbelievably heartfelt conclusion to an epic journey. Made me feel in ways no other game has while bringing a fresh enough take on gameplay in an aging genre and some best in class boss fight experiences.

    An amazing conclusion to an amazing story in an amazing JRPG game. From music to art and the various theme, it was exceptional, and i even learned life lessons along the way =D

    If you didn’t like FFXIV before now, Endwalker will do nothing to change your mind. But if you’re in, this emotional rollercoaster will be rolling towards a satisfying conclusion, that absolutely will not disappoint.

    FFXIV is currently the best MMORPG available. The main reason is because it’s RPG first, MMO second. The story isn’t just an afterthought, but an integral part of the experience, and everything else revolves around the tale of the Warrior of Light. It’s logical, well-planned, and presented with great, voiced (or not) cut-scenes.
