FFVI, the best FF of ever, but this is an annoying version.

2-The graphics. overworld map and all scenario sprites are beautiful in the new resolution but the new characters sprites sucks so hard, they looks like amateur work made with excessive filters, the original sprites are much more cool.

3-The interface. is the same interface than IOS/android, and is one of the worst I ever seen for an rpg, maintain the most issues from the original interface (no objects category, lack of equipment stats in shop...) but adds more issues, especially in battle, the list mode is the worst battle iface of all times, the command ordered are better, but still been worse than advance iface, finally, isn't compatible with mouse, a tactile iface and u need to use arrows and keys for clicking enormous buttons ¬¬, if you map the "A" button to a letter key (P.E. "c") you are unabled to name characters with the default name (or any other that have less than 6 characters), when you click submit name, the game automatically add the key mapped to the name (P.E. whit "c", terra become terrac).

4-Lack of improvements. The game need a turbo mode, for run u need a **** relic, the perfomance are too bad for a 2d game that have 21 years, and more....

    Bad
-can’t feel level ups because it switches your party a lot, DQ4 did this well
-Magitek Factory is a convoluted mess -feels like little parts of story are missing, you don’t understand why a character changed -this mine cart video is **** -sad music vibe is too constant -shops still open when city is on fire and everyone is running around, very immersion breaking -lots of people

-lots of people sadly putting their head down and sayings someone’s name with a dot dot dot
-people will just say stuff to each other out of the blue, like will I ever be able to love someone, when it makes absolutely no sense and you’re supposed to think it’s soulful writing, it’s bad, I think most fans played this when they were just starting teen-hood and thought because it was sad it was cool adult writing

    Good
    -art design minus ponytails
    -exciting surprises
    -atmosphere
-Espers add a cool and slightly confusing layer to leveling up a character

I grew up in the 80's, with the Nintendo and Super Nintendo, so I am no stranger to classic role playing games. The Super Nintendo is what got me into role playing games to begin with. I grew up in the 80's, with the Nintendo and Super Nintendo, so I am no stranger to classic role playing games. The Super Nintendo is what got me into role playing games to begin with. I've played a majority of RPGs that have come out then and now, Final Fantasy 3 (Final Fantasy VI) being one that I've played through many, many times.

It's a classic RPG with great elements, that may not seem that amazing now, but were a breath of fresh air when it first came out. The characters, story, game mechanics, they were all just perfect; a shining example of Square's faded glory.

I orginally played the remake of Final Fantasy VI when it came out on IOS and Android. I enjoyed it immensely and took up a better part of a week at work. The game was well designed, did not deviate from the classic enough to be an issue, had newer graphics, which were attractive to me and the controls designed for a touch screen device were pretty much spot on.

So how does the PC port compare to this? One of the first things I noticed were that they took care of a tiling problem that was present in the IOS and Android versions. If you looked close enough, there would be tiles that didn't match up properly in the game and caused some slight staggers. Now for me, this wasn't a big deal, but people were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaning about this when the mobile port came out. I am happy to announce that so far, it appears Square took care of this issue and it is no longer present.

The graphics appear to be very much the same to the mobile versions and that's fine with me. I played the classic games so much, just a change of appearance was already wonderful for me. The PC version looks great, I have no complaints about that. I know there has been some complaints that Square could have done better, but I think it's fine as is. I would have prefered a 3D remake, but this will suffice.

I noticed on Steam, there has been some complaints about the controls. I play most of my PC games with a Xbox gamepad and to be honest, I haven't had too many issues. When I first started playing, it was a little confusing, but the developers did a good job at the layout of the on-screen buttons, after playing a little bit I had no issue. If a button is present on the right hand of the screen, chances are a button on the right hand of the controller will trigger it. It is a non-issue and if you take a couple of minutes to adjust to it, you'll be fine.

There has been add-ons to the game, the combat mechanic has been adjusted, you can also crank up the speed on fights and a wonderful "auto" option will use your last moves and speed fights up even faster. This can be a major boon for "Blitz" techniques, as you no longer have to put in the correct code every time. The layout of the game's combat windows and choices have been change around, but it was never an issue for me. The only thing that bothers me, even a little is the fact in the mobile versions, you just selected a Blitz technique, in this version they went back to the stupid code input, which I have always hated.

Besides that, the only thing that has been even remotely bothering me is the change of dialog scripts. For the most part, dialog remains the same, but every so often, you'll come across dialog you KNOW isn't correct. I don't know why they decided to change some of the dialog, maybe it was to make the translation more accurate? Whatever the case, it bothers me on some minor scale.

All in all, it's a fairly decent game, if you've played the original to death like me, there's enough of a change to justify the price. Some folks have been ♥♥♥♥♥ing that the classic graphics are the best and I suppose Sqaure could have added an option for "retro" graphics, but frankly, if that's what's stopping you from playing the game, you need to reevaluate your priorities.

I highly recommend this game and during a sale there's no good excuse not to pick this game up.

Now the pc version of this game is probably bad but I'm here to talk about the SNES version. this is by far my favourite game of all time it has an amazing storyline, characters that you'll get easily attached to and overall it's a final fantasy game and it's great if you can get your hands on the SNES version it's a must grab.

Despite the steep price and the change in visuals which won't appeal everybody, Final Fantasy VI is a great JRPG and still one of the best ever made. Too bad this release is flawed by annoying bugs, counterintuitive options and poor coding.
