Stands apart as the best soccer game on the PC, and one of the best footy games on any platform, period.
-
It takes a lot more skill to pass well in FIFA 2002, but that also gives the attacker a lot more options. It grants players more freedom, and consequently more ways of being creative.
-
EA Sports decided to key on gameplay this time around, and in the process it has successfully propelled the game dangerously close to reality. This should sit well with anyone who truly appreciates the nuances, subtlety, and pace of the real-world sport.
-
This game transcends previous incarnations of the sport, enlivening the screen with realistic game play, and lively graphical elements.
-
Surprisingly, FIFA 2002 has a much more responsive control system than any previous version.
-
PC GamerA must own for soccer fans. [Feb 2002, p. 73]
-
The only decent camera angle in the game is side on, so you cannot aim accurately because you can't see all of the net.
-
New passing and tackling models are nice, but soccer fans deserve the same featurescareer mode, AI sliders, computer trade AI, detailed stat tracking, and so onthat nearly every other EA Sports game possesses.
-
If you liked Fifa 2001 then I'm sure you'll like this year's incarnation; however, those who've found the Fifa series disappointing in recent times should steer well clear.
