    As with many others, I played a lot of FIFA when I was a kid – FIFA 2000, 2002 World Cup, 2003, 2005 World Cup, 2007, 2008, 2009, and a few pre-2000 titles. Then, I stopped playing. However, recently, I played FIFA 19 with my colleagues at work and realized I wasn't as good as I thought. So, I decided to buy FIFA 22, hoping to improve my skills since I didn't want to keep playing soAs with many others, I played a lot of FIFA when I was a kid – FIFA 2000, 2002 World Cup, 2003, 2005 World Cup, 2007, 2008, 2009, and a few pre-2000 titles. Then, I stopped playing. However, recently, I played FIFA 19 with my colleagues at work and realized I wasn't as good as I thought. So, I decided to buy FIFA 22, hoping to improve my skills since I didn't want to keep playing so poorly.

    Unfortunately, EA disappointed the PC FIFA player base by not releasing the next-gen version of the game on PC. Instead, they provided the old-gen version, like the one on PS4. The reason behind this decision was that many players have budget PCs, and releasing the next-gen version could split the player base or exclude those with low-end PCs. Just a little background information.

    I can only compare FIFA 22 to FIFA 19, as that's the last one I played, but I can say it feels and looks better. Although I'm no expert, it doesn't seem like an entirely new game, more like an updated version. It's surprising how EA manages to release essentially the same game each year, with minor tweaks and feature changes, and market it as a new game, even charging full-game prices. But that's just my opinion.

    For me, FIFA 22 was and still is a great way to pass the time, playing a match or two against random people. I mostly lose, but I try my best. xD Despite my lack of success, I have fun playing this way. I did give the career mode a shot, but it didn't captivate me enough to continue. As for the other game modes, I can't really comment since I haven't explored them much. One thing I'm sure of is that people shouldn't go the FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) road. It feels like a pay-to-win, casino-like simulator, and you end up spending money on a game that loses significance once the next one comes out – just my two cents.

    Gameplay-wise, FIFA 22 offers a fun experience, depending on what you're looking to get out of it. However, I don't see myself buying any other FIFA anytime soon. One installment is enough for me. If the player base dies out and I can no longer find opponents to play against, so be it. Maybe I'd consider a radically-changed new FIFA game, but I won't pay for just an update.    … Expand

    Online is really bad on this one, and fairly enough feels repetitive, one of the worst "FIFA" I can remember, EA really outdone themselves with this one.

    How is possible even the career mode has handicap? why? Why am i playing with barcelona and can goal a good team in champions but for some reason the Almeria, that is 16 in la liga its faster and more responsive? How everytime i have a clear shot its post?. How is it possible after buying Mbappe for 300 milion he just played 4 games and then he was injured for 7 whole months (maximumHow is possible even the career mode has handicap? why?     what is this game? why Ea get worse and worse in players movements ? players Actions has delays and the game is too much fast for a soccer .. dribbles are so bad and fast somehow... and defenses are more like a fight than a football

    Servers are broken and typical EA trying to get as much money from the customers as possible in ultimate teams. Even playing solo, the servers crash and you basically played a match for nothing.

    Luckily I didn't buy this game and haven't bought an EA game for around 10 years and doubt I ever will again.

    Although single player modes are fun and deeper on the detail and soccer world simulation (Finally, cause the other games were pretty slack on this aspect), a lot of the mechanics are just awful.     EA is not speeding down on making this game more arcade every year. Instead of focussing on the physics and realisms, they prefer to add nonsense visual features. I gave zero points hence they have enough budget for making a proper football simulation.
    I think they should have made a game that play itself. In fact, they are almost there. Good work!

Career Mode isn't even fun no more due to the horrible AI and scripting. Gameplay can be okay until your players push forward for no reason and leave spaces, passes don't go to targeted player, animations cancelling or switchingVery minimal features.     They have lost a lot of interesting license. And as a lot of reviews, its a copy paste game. This game was made by a big enterprise and is fill of bugs. Visuals are horrible. Do not buy this game I regret my self of buying it on steam and played a month after I buy it

Вот что я и заметил, независимо от рейтинга, соперник всегда будет заряжать в твои ворота ювелирной точности мячи, ПОСТОЯННО ПОПАДАТЬ В СТВОР, крутить финты в твоей штрафной прямо перед носом твоих защитников, а они будут бегать рядом и смотреть. Скажите мне, как вы за годы развития игры и движения вперёд начинайте наоборот деградировать в геймплейном аспекте? Ведь снова же, перейдя из как я думал ДИКО ЗАСКРИПТОВАНОЙ 19 ФИФЫ, я столкнулся с ещё более душной частью как ФИФА 22, где когда ты забиваешь гол, через 5-7 минут игрового времени тебе прилетает хорошо что один, но иногда и 2 в ответку, чтобы сбалансировать счёт, а твоя защита не отбирает мячи, специально создаёт дырки для соперника, твой вратарь 88 рейтинга вдруг становится мусором и начинает пропускать мячи из-за пределов штрафной, при чём даже парашютными ударами и низкой скорости полёта мяча... И ТИПА ЭТО ДОЛЖНО ПОДОГРЕТЬ У ТЕБЯ ИНТЕРЕС И ПРОДОЛЖАТЬ БОРОТЬСЯ С ТУПЫМ ГАНДИКАПОМ И СКРИПТАМИ. И снова же, всё это делают бомжи с рейтингом в 70. Ты чувствуешь как игра тебя давит и заставляет тратить свои нервы, особенно если ты нацелен на сухие матчи. Я не буду говорить про онлайн режим и донаты - потому что я игру покупал не для этого, но читая отзывы ниже, понимаю, что там ситуация с транзакциями и уже онлайн гандикапом далеко не лучше.… Expand

    Penalties and free kicks are extremely hard cuz the cursor is always in motion. Winning the ball from opponent team is like pressing all keys in keyboard. It makes users crazy. Marking DOES NOT mean that getting behind the opposing player and chasing him. Also It is very difficult to score goals in one-on-one shots if your team is not real, psg etc..

Artificial intelligence is gone totally. On player career, you need to deal with your teammates' ridiculous passing decisions. Your manager disrespects the players' main positions. Centre-back plays as leftUnbelievable. It is certain now: EA sees FIFA as an ATM. They only care about the money at the Ultimate Team. Centre-back plays as left wing-back and causes lots of turnovers. Left-backs play as midfielders and can't complete even the simplest passes. I was transferred to Chelsea and other day, Bayern and RB Leipzig sent offers to me. This will be the last FIFA game that I have purchased. Sorry guys, you don't care about your old customers.     If someone will ever try to make more unfair game, it would be really hard to achieve. Whole gameplay is build around handicap. Moment it activates u see ur players cant make accurate 5m pass, and whatever u're doing wont save u from goal in next 60 seconds. Players stats change many times during one match, and this cheating is not a bug, it's a gameplay core.

Defending is nigh impossible and the AI will take over any given match seemingly at random, regardless of score, or even if they have less than 11 players on the pitch. It's not logical in its difficulty, it's just rage-inducing. Defending is nigh impossible and the AI will take over any given match seemingly at random, regardless of score, or even if they have less than 11 players on the pitch. Heaven forbid you opt to control just one player, the other ten will go out of their way not to get possession and then you're expected to stand around if you happen to be an attacker because you have points deducted for 'straying from your position' if you try to help out. Make the game harder by all means, EA; just don't take the user's control away to do it.… Expand

    Despite the bad critics I think Fifa 22 is a good game. Not the best of the series but better than both Fifa 20 and Fifa 21. With new features like Create a Club or the new Player Career Mode EA took Fifa 21 removed the major bugs and added new features without changing too much.

    I clearly didn't learn my lesson with Fifa 21. What a mug I am. Online game play is absolutely diabolical. The lag and impact on game play is totally unacceptable. Having played this game online for a number of hours I realise it is has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with your network speed. It does not even try and be fair. Please never let me buy a Fifa games again.

    As a person who loves soccer. They took almost half of the international teams. There are no teams from Asia, Africa, or central America.
    They only had 2…ONLY 2 South American teams, Argentina, and Brazil. I can’t even play as a team from Africa or Asia. When I play FIFA personally, I like to have many options when choosing teams.
    They took club leagues. Previous FIFA had more leagues to choose from. They didn’t have the Turkish league.
    They should’ve added the Ukrainian league.
    They should have added countries like Albania, Croatia, Serbia.
    What made this even more frustrating was the main menu, it was so confusing. You must go to different menus to just play a regular match. They made the whole thing so complicated.
    Don’t get me wrong there were so many positives. They had the Champions League edition. They also had the FIFA Street edition which was cool. That’s about it in terms of positives. The gameplay really didn’t change as much. Graphics same old thing. Which all made it more FRUSTATING.
    I had FIFA 18 before I bought FIFA 22. The gameplay was much easier, everything was simple. The most important thing THERE ARE MORE TEAMS TO CHOOSE FROM!!!!!
    I didn’t pay much for the game, it was on sale for $26. I will just stick to my FIFA 18, thank you for much.

    On a positive the SBC's and soundtrack are really good but If i wanted to listen to music or play a puzzle game i would. I want to play a good football game but cant.

    4) Passing is inconsistent (to say the least)

    5) Actually it is impossible to tackle opponents (WC, legendary, ultimate difficulties). Pointless.

    6) Buggy.

    * Online matches v1 - if you, or your opponent, are going to leave the game, before anyone would score... the game will be set as a draw and, if you're playing division rivals for example, you'll loose winning streak.
    * Online matches v2 - there are days (mainly weekends), where connection to servers is pretty bad. This and input lag would make you cry :)
    * Ground passes - very innacurate at times.

    Pros:
    * Lots of ways to construct an action.
    * Possibility to be on the bench in career mode.

Now, let's talk about the game... Graphics are okay, nothing special, nothing too bad, you can really find your sweet spot with the camera settings, but PS5/XSX graphics will be always better.
    Game-modes - every mode is playable, nothing too new about those, except some cuts in Volta and that new system where you can't drop down in FUT.
    Gameplay is mainly done for the "average players" (because of that), it can be slighty overwhelming for the brand-new players (this year my friend started with the FUT, so I really can understand).
    Now, let's talk for a bit about the FUT, 'cause that's the reason you will want to buy this game, otherwise you can go with 20 or 21, it's basically the same, believe me. FUT (same as every year) will be full of same cards. Usually it will be overpowered Premier League ('cause EA has special contracs with this league) and few overpowered individuals ('cause EA has special contracs with them too) - that isn't a theory, go and search for ambassadors and check their cards in the game.
    Other straight up retarded thing is that every single player (except GK) can easily score goals and do very powerful tackles, just have a few big players and others with high pace stats, it'll be enough for basically any division (although Elite and First can be kinda though if you find a good opponent). Every match you'll recieve at least 1 goal when no-brain & no-passing-skill player will make ridiculous pass in front of the goal and his teammate will score (it doesn't matter that you have 3 defenders there).
    Last thing, you definitely can sink a lot of time into this game, it's good game, but it won't reward your skill, football experiences from real life or even better team-building. There's a lot of events, that good and bad. Good, 'cause there's more cards and more choices for your team and bad, 'cause there'll be a lot of promos when **** players will get OP cards and you'll lose your nerves.    … Expand

    This game isn't really fun to play. Attacking is bad: obvious passes that make it to the player in real life are for some reason landing in the opponent's feet. Passes in depth are super bad most of the time you just cannot do a pass for your wingers if the space you are targeting is between the wing and the center of the field. The only pass that works at each try is to the wing directly near the line. So obviously 50% of the goals you take are from wingers outpacing your entire defense line from there and shooting diagonally into your top corner from a tight angle. Wow such realism!

    Not to mention the defense in that kind of situation that is almost impossible to handle because defenders suck at moving diagonally. For some reason when they start doing this they have a huge inertia and are left behind as soon as the guy changes direction even if you are trying to closely follow and anticipate its moves.

    Another thing, I don't know if that is the game trying to stupidly assist you or something but the defaults suck. If you have a player alone with lot of space in front of him and want to make a through ball it targets the closest player 50% of the time killing a huge opportunity.

    Pretty sure even if I had time for career and all the fuss I'd be even more disappointed. Just take a look at "pros" playing these, their games are filled with futsal goals in which they land insane series of tricks, like dribbling all defenders and the keeper. Is this what a "simulation" is supposed to look like?

    So in short, absolutely no improvement from last year and feels even worse. Go ahead and develop your next FIFAs EA, I don't care, I'm done buying your crap.    … Expand

    - Movement: your virtual pro / player feels like wading through treacle. Each action has a noticeable "intertia" or what others have referred to as "delay". This means that you don't really feel like you're in control of the game at any point. One of the more basic parts of *any* game is to make the player feel like what they do has an instant impact, so EA has already failed in that respect.

    - Passing. Again, they removed control from the player. When you move the L stick to aim a pass towards a particular player, a good two or three times out of ten it'll just pass it to a player who you're not aiming towards. It feels like the game has been put "on rails" in this way, which removes any satisfaction from actually making a good play.

    - Shooting. Long gone are the days where you had to out-skill your opponent, line up a good angle from inside the box and weight the shot perfectly in order to score. The meta is to just three bar a shot from 45 yards out since half the time it will laser-beam in to the top right hand corner. Where is the realism in that? On top of this, they've added some silly "traits" to virtual pros which takes them instantly to a five star weak foot with improved shooting which only makes this worse.

    - Game evolution. It's the same old contrived cookie-cutter **** that it was in the old games. There seems to be a rule where the chances of a goal are massively high in the first five minutes, just before half time, and in the ninetieth minute. This has been proven in the past but you can literally feel when your AI players / all of a sudden the turn of play changes on a sixpence and your opponent will miraculously score an equaliser despite previously being as useless as Anne Frank's drumkit.

    - General stability / Quality of life / ease of use: This is another really poor aspect of this "game". From the get go, the menu's are incredibly laggy (I'm on a high end PC) and your controller inputs are swallowed up. The UI doesn't really make any sense and flows / routes to get where you want to go are all over the place. One of the most EGREGIOUS parts of this game is that ANY loss of focus of the game window instantly results in you "forfeiting" the match. ORIGIN itself can spawn a notification which then makes you instantly lose a game which was "developed" by EA, who own Origin. Like whaaaat??. This just shows an absolute lack of care and passion for this game as a product.

    - Overall: Another soulless, lifeless, cringey, stinky corpse of a game that EA has **** out in their endless endeavour to take money out of your pockets. Buy this game if you're as thick as two short planks and want to wind yourself up.

    TL;DR: I would have refunded this game if I could, and I got it for half price    … Expand

    often you close out the AI in the box but when they are there they will dribble their way to another galaxy to score and THEY WILL.
    even a bad team will dribble for SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT SECONDS IN THE BOX and they WILL SCORE half the times.
    AND THE GOALKEEPRS, JEEZ. they would save something superman can't save,
    but let in the easiest save of all. and AWFUL AWUFL auto positioning.
    and closed angle shots 90% of TIMES GO IN!

    Wtf is wrong with this game? I haven't seen so much glitches in gameplay in my life. The way that AI opponents are playing is irreal. Sometime they accelerate like a flash, their legs glitch to complete the passes. Wtf. I will remain at my FIFA 14 with 22 patch. Thanks EA

    Long story short: do you have enough stress at work? So, this game is not for you. Find something else that brings you fun, not extra rage.
    This game has only one good thing: the soundtrack. The product manager responsible for this game should be fired. I don't blame developers and game designers, because they simply do what their bosses are saying: make the same freaking game, just make the UI slightly fancier.
    Players are abusing the same types of scoring method, in which you cannot do anything to defend. They put 10 defenders behind midfield, 1 attacker. Tackles the ball, throw a long pass from wherever they are to attacker, they're one on one with your goal keeper. This is disgusting. Additionally, it doesn't matter how much you pay for your players (300K, 500K, 1M), the best players are the bugged players: Kimpembe, Dembele, etc. These players are 83 overall and are literally in every FUT squad. There's no joy anymore and no real feeling of improving, it's not rewarding. Bouncing backs should be removed from the game, the ball returns a thousand times to your opponent until they finally score (the ball should just die out in your foot if you tackle or intercept a pass, but it doesn't happen, the ball goes back to them multiple times). Finally, the physics they're so proud of, is terrible. Often times you'll see two of your players going on the same direction, clashing and falling, thus leaving your opponent with the ball and free space to do whatever they want.

    When it comes to Fifa you can be sure of that: Professional Critic reviews should be totally ignored. They play the game for a couple of hours and that's pretty much it. We (real players) test the online features inside out, and from my experience I can tell you: you'll have fun moments when you win a stupid player who plays with 11 behind midfield, but most of the times you'll be frustrated and unhappy.     its a completely unrealistic arcade game and plays an awful game of football. The dribbling is horrendously unrealistic, players zig zagging around. Probably the worst Fifa I have ever played and I have played since the 90's

    I gave the game a 1 because it looks nice sometimes, other than that this game is trash and it seems like the people who made this game have never picked up a soccer ball in their life. EA continues to churn out the Same damn game every **** year and it’s trash almost every time. Seriously who designed this game this **** is ass.

    - ultimate AI seems to have gotten even worse compared to fifa 22, sometimes a 2nd league team plays like old Barcelona while a top team can play like a 60 overall rated team
    - EA kept promoting hypermotion but it is not included on pc

    Terrible game. Attacking is WAAAY too easy, and defending is near impossible. All you do is hoping for a mistake.
    All they did was take an already **** game, slightly change it (for the worse), and re-release it.
    Eventho i think FIFA has become more and more **** over the years, ive still been playing the games on and off, but this one i uninstalled after about 15 hours of game time, and    Terrible game. Attacking is WAAAY too easy, and defending is near impossible. All you do is hoping for a mistake.

    Despite its flaws FIFA 22 manages to find the balance point between simulation and fun. Although the fact some of its modes are far from perfect, it can offer the thrills that football gives to its fans, both online and locally. The much-discussed HyperMotion does its job perfectly and justifies the need for this year's edition, in contrast with previous years. If you consider yourself a football fan, there's no need to hesitate into buying this year's edition.

    After many hours spent on the next-gen version of FIFA 22 (PS5-Xbox Series) and its old-gen bent, the conclusion is there: PC, Xbox One and PS4 players will have a version with the flaws of the new generation, but cut off from its strengths.
