    This might be my favourite game of all time. Obsidian has really outdone Bethesda by creating an open world game that lets you go anywhere, but cleverly coerces you to find weapons, interesting quests, better armour, and without you even knowing it, you've gone from rags to riches just by playing the game and getting to know these amazing wastes. The brilliant thing about this game is itThis might be my favourite game of all time. The brilliant thing about this game is it doesn't force you to do quests, or not let you go in any areas, but it subtly recommends it. By the time you are about to fight in the second battle of hoover dam, you feel like you earned all this. You feel like you know this place like the back of your hand. There is always so much to do, and even revisiting areas lets you find stuff you didn't find before, pick locks you couldn't pick before, and kill enemies you couldn't kill before. The sheer storytelling and happiness this game brings you makes it the best RPG- heck, the best game I have ever played. Obsidian really took fallout 3 and just made it a million times better. There is so much more stuff I could applaud this game for, like the optional hardcore mode, interesting lore, 4 completely different endings, how ALL of your choices effect the environment in some way, the absolute freedom the game gives you, but I don't have enough space and time to say it all. Thank you so much Obsidian, and Bethesda you're dicks for not giving them that bonus.… Expand

    Overall amazing. The bugs are a fair thing to knock it down a peg but there are many mods to fix that also considering the dev time was 18 months

    This game is so good that the bugs don't even matter anymore. Listening to the radio daily now. The story the atmosphere is just the definition of perfection. Such a shame that Bethesda let Obsidian rush the game a bit. Only 18 months. Just imagine what it was like if Obsidian got more time. And man oh man, the critics are just terribly wrong. 84 huh?!     Before you rate this game, go review the circumstances it was made in. Those poor bastards didn't get the money they were due because they sold just a little less then they agreed on with Bethesda. Yet this game carries on it's shoulders so much. There is no excuse for not taking that into consideration if your review is below a 9.

    I love Fallout NV. It's my personal favorite Fallout game. It's really surprising how it took around 18 months to make yet has a better story line and has better game play then the game before it (Fallout 3). Sure It has many glitches here and there (And I may have used some for an advantage), but is pretty good otherwise.

    My favorite game ever. An incredible rpg, a shining beacon of hope in the sea of games that try to crack the genre, even all these years later. The modding community is what keeps this game alive so definitely try them out (some are even essential bug fixes). Play it, PLEASE play it

    I would love to put 10 but with the plethora of bugs it's near unplayable without using a mod manager to inject essential files (anti crash, fps fix, 4gb ram patch). On the x360 I couldn't finish 2 full game play-throughs from bugs or glitches. After 150 hrs I put it down until modding the pc version this year.. and what a difference. It's a very overwhelming sense of awareness and freedomI would love to put 10 but with the plethora of bugs it's near unplayable without using a mod manager to inject essential files (anti crash, fps fix, 4gb ram patch).     A great game with probably the best RPG system in 3D games, as well as with an excellent plot and quests. This is the best 3d Fallout and probably one of the best Fallout in the series. I really love this game and will try it again not once.

    Fallout new Vegas is the crowing achievement of the Fallout franchise. The story no matter what choices you make is gripping and compelling from main menu to credits, the gameplay has many enhancements from fallout 3 so those who liked that game will almost certainly enjoy this game, and characters are all so well acted and written, it will feel like they are real people.     I'm going to start this off by saying that Fallout: New Vegas is my favorite game of ALL TIME, so this review will most definitely be biased in almost every single way. FNV is a huge buggy mess, but besides that there is almost no flaw to this game as a whole. The story albeit, kind of cliche, is a vast improvement from Fallout 3, and I really appreciate how almost every single side questI'm going to start this off by saying that Fallout: New Vegas is my favorite game of ALL TIME, so this review will most definitely be biased in almost every single way. The story albeit, kind of cliche, is a vast improvement from Fallout 3, and I really appreciate how almost every single side quest can have several endings, all of which will result in different endings that are shown to you at the end of the game in the form of a slideshow. While this games story isn't the most serious thing every (far from it), that isn't what makes the beauty of FNV. The beauty of FNV comes from the near unlimited amount of things you can do, from finding snow globes, to the various DLCs, and on and on. However, this is without even mentioning mods. This is the best moddable game of all time, as the sheer amount of quests, weapons, houses, companions, etc. you can find around the internet make this game easily my most enjoyable game of all time. Mods easily take this game from maybe an 8.5 to a 10 in my book.… Expand

    Great open world that easily can get a person lost, being absolutely hot garbage at games makes it hard to complete, but really gets good when that dopamine starts to hit as u level up ur character to un-killable god status, where u’ll die anyway but enjoy doing it. It’s too late for the team to receive their royalties, **** it, give it a try and a good score anyway.

    But the writing, narrative, Story,etc are so good, so well done that i remember them to this day.
    Plus it has the best DLCs of every game.

    I have never played a Fallout game before this one. In fact, I haven't played many western RPGs except for Skyrim. I picked this game up because I heard it was good. After playing it I noticed many things. I found that the combat could be hit or miss for me, the graphics and animations were not exactly ideal. In my opinion, Fallout New Vegas has some of the best-written characters in any video game I have ever played. The obvious ones are Mr. House and Ceasar. There is a lot of room for roleplaying. There are so many different characters you can be and there is a lot of variety in the ways you can approach the game. You can go through the game without killing a single NPC. There is also not a single NPC that you cannot kill and the game always finds a way to progress the main story no matter what characters are dead. Fallout New Vegas is an absolute triumph and can only be described as one of the best RPGs ever made… Expand

    This is an example of a true Fallout. Too bad the game came out early and a lot of bugs were not found. Interesting factions and a full open world in which you are free to make your character completely. More interesting characters compared to Fallout 3.

Но она перебила все мои ожидания . Everything from the realistic lived-in world to the sandbox approach to combat(literally due to the location in the Mojave Desert) feels fleshed out and in-depth, allowing for an overall great storytelling experience that I have had trouble topping in the years since I first played this game. Understandably, a lot of peopleEasily one of, if not the, greatest RPGs of all time, hands down. Everything from the realistic lived-in world to the sandbox approach to combat(literally due to the location in the Mojave Desert) feels fleshed out and in-depth, allowing for an overall great storytelling experience that I have had trouble topping in the years since I first played this game. Understandably, a lot of people have issues with the bugs and dated graphics (even for when it released), but I have always held the opinion that if a game can't function very well, then the narrative must pick up the slack. Not only does Fallout: New Vegas pick up the slack, it gets a scissor lift and launches it into the stratosphere, made all the more impressive due to the fact that the game was developed in only 18 months. 10/10, would most definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a great open world RPG with a unique aesthetic and an intriguing story.… Expand

    This game is extremely immersive and compelling; it should be used as a guide for video game story telling. The RPG elements are nice, but the gameplay is a little boring. is just shoots your gun for you. The game breaking bug also keeps this game from becoming a masterpiece.

    If Obsididan worked on Fallout, that could have been a great game too.

    I've played a few RPGs in my life, being Fallout 3 one of my favourites, and Fallout New Vegas proved to be at the top with the all time greats. I now know that if I ever want to play a game for its RPG elements, exploration and setting, I'll always have somewhere to turn to. I tried to ingest as much of the Wasteland as I could, without stagnating my mental sanity, and found a world fullI've played a few RPGs in my life, being Fallout 3 one of my favourites, and Fallout New Vegas proved to be at the top with the all time greats. I now know that if I ever want to play a game for its RPG elements, exploration and setting, I'll always have somewhere to turn to. I tried to ingest as much of the Wasteland as I could, without stagnating my mental sanity, and found a world full of life (not much life actually). It's an immersive and believable world that didn't leave me alone until I got tired of it (never did), possibly even hindering my studies.

    I will set out some ratings from 0 to 10 to facilitate the final verdict:

    Presentation: 8/10
    Writing: 9/10
    Gameplay: 6/10
    Sound/Music: 7/10
    Graphics: 8/10 (for a 2010 game)
    Content: 10/10
    Optimization: -/10 (for a 2010 game, can't really tell)

    The way this game is built makes for an unprecedented replayability. The possible endings and storylines with the various factions in the game makes the overall content sky high, deserving of a rating 10 on Content. Also positive note to the possible companions, everyone had a lot of dialogue and even missions of their own, something you don't see a lot of.

    This game deserves a lot of praise, especially considering its short production time. This being an RPG, I decided to prioritise the writing and not the gameplay, so it's a 9/10 in my opinion.    … Expand

The story is interesting and enticing, the humour is on point and the side quests are prone from sounding boring at first before creating one of the most memorable side stories in the whole series (The quest 'Come fly with me' is a great example). Regardless, I would/have recommended it to everyone who'd listen to me and if you're like me and want to have more creativity with weapon customisation, I'd highly recommend cashing up 3 extra dollars for the gun runners arsenal dlc, which adds more weapon mods and ammo types.

    In the broadest strokes possible, New Vegas is set in a battleground between the 3 different economic modes and their different forms of social organisation formed after the Great War. There's the NCR, an early capitalist republic based around its water caravans; Caesar's Legion, a vast slaver army; and the ancient, tight-knit tribes of the Wasteland, "families of families". Each of theseIn the broadest strokes possible, New Vegas is set in a battleground between the 3 different economic modes and their different forms of social organisation formed after the Great War. There's the NCR, an early capitalist republic based around its water caravans; Caesar's Legion, a vast slaver army; and the ancient, tight-knit tribes of the Wasteland, "families of families". Each of these societies interact and exist independently of the Courier. The few tribes who end up classed as raiders (mainly the Vipers) have complicated histories, cultures, and interactions. Only in a few scattered settlements are left out of the loop.

    Fallout 4 has none of that. There are no states. There are no tribes. There are cities, which don't do anything, and exist solely so you can fast travel in, sell all your junk, and leave. Raider-tribals are replaced with nameless, identical "raiders", who are all insane and stupid, and respawn in the same places every 3 days to shoot at anyone who walks by for some reason (so they can put their heads on sticks and smell rotting human flesh all day I guess). Instead of forming tribes as they ventured out into the wastes, all the vault dwellers are either still cooped up in their vaults 2 centuries later (who knows how they're managing their populations) or dead for the SS to trample over on their way to the next terminal. Instead of mercs, there are Gunners (who despite supposedly being mercenaries are never actually seen being mercenaries), the most technologically advanced minor faction in the Commonwealth who should really be ruling the entire place by now, but instead spend their time doing insidious plots and shooting anyone they see for some reason. As soon as the story, which acts as a substitute for real worldbuilding, ends, so does any energy the cities of the Commonwealth ever had. I guess people have been too busy shooting at eachother for the last 200 years to do anything whatsoever.

    The factions themselves consist of Unexplained Evil Scientists, knights in shining power armour who moved in a massive military force after they found out the Unexplained Evil Scientists were there for some reason, a single man who makes you the general of an army just because you helped 4 people, and secret agents who free the Unexplained Evil Scientists' synth slaves. The only faction that has any actual connection to Commonwealth society is the Railroad, and they're the most absurdly underdeveloped (and that's saying something) of all of them.

    My favourite moment in FONV is when you enter the Strip for the first time, and you see NCR troopers stumbling around with Military Police trying to keep them walking in 1 direction. You've heard all the way to New Vegas about how troopers go to the strip to blow their pay on booze, slot machines and prostitutes, and here they are. These are real people, in a real army, in a real place, going to real institutions. They'll be stumbling around whether you're there or not.    … Expand

    This is my favourite Fallout. Obsidian did a fantastic job with the writing here, and world building. You can pretty much choose your own adventure here and how everything plays out with numerous interesting factions. This is a proper RPG.

    I played the game on X360 back in 2010 and loved the game so much it became my number 1 favourite game of all time and I still play it every year on my PC with mods. In my eyes this is one of the best RPGs and one of the best games of all time. 12 years later and there still has not been a RPG game like New Vegas.

    Great game. Was avoiding it for long time, because I thought, it's just little bigger DLC. Boy was I wrong, There is sooo many points of interests and locations, it took me about 50 hours to explore and finish the game. Just go and play it, it's worth every minute. Only thing I didn't like much is color palete used, everything is just brown :D

You can kill major characters (generals, politicians, leaders, businesspeople, etc) and still progress the main quest. The game also questions the player on ethical and moral questions. Moral questions are not as simple as the "do you want to genocide or not?" that you see in Mass Effect or the "do you want to nuke a town or not?" that you see in Fallout 3. Decisions force the player to think about what decision they will make rather than just choose generic good guy or generic bad guy. It's a refreshing take on moral choices that I wish more games took notes from.… Expand

    This is simply the best game ever and the only game that I would rate a 10 on this site. It has all the charm and backstories of Fallout 1 and 2 with a really good writing and an interesting story, everything made in just 18 month. It has a faction system with working disguises very well made and a ton of unique dialogs. I would recomend playing this game with all of the DLCs for the best experience because they add a lot of content and are well integrated into the main story. The combat is just like Fallout 3 but with a lot of weapon mods and unique weapons. The best thing that happened to the Fallout franchise was when Fo3 decided to port the franchise in the 3d world, but sadly as Fallout 4 and more than that, Fallout 76 demonstrated, Bethesda is not half as good as the original creators of the franchise in creating a good story and characters. Fallout 3 is not bad (also because it tries to imitate the first two games a lot, unlike Fallout 4) but Fallout New Vegas is simply the best form for this formula, mixing together the best writing and world building with a working gameplay and open world, Bethesda style.… Expand

    Out of all the Fallout games, New Vegas was always the one that stood out the most to me. I'm not sure if its the world building or the well written characters or maybe even the cool music on my pipboy, but it seems like NV has it all.

    What's also amazing about it is the replayability and player choice when it comes to actions. Heck, in one of my playthroughs, I decided to skip the tutorial town and just run straight into the casino (a location meant for mid level players), and while the journey was tough, the game never held me back, but instead encouraged and rewarded me for being smart.

    13 years after release, it's still nothing short of a masterpiece. It hits all the right things, it has an interesting and engaging plot, colourful characters, focus on genuine player choices, great dialogue, great humour, great setting... it's an actual RPG. The game is quite buggy, but all my favourite games were, and many still are, buggy af.

But Fallout is not that kind of game, there's a lot to it, so a lot that can go wrong. Luckily the modding community are doing a great job keeping this game alive, functional, pretty, dense with content and replayable.

Возьмите Fallout 3, расширьте его, добавьте больше разнообразия, добавьте больше интересных локаций, утройте количество фракций, добавьте лучшую тему и добавьте больше погружения, и вы получите Fallout NV. Obsidian взяли достойную игру и сделали ее великолепной. Действительно намного больше глубины в мире и просто в целом лучше. Конечно движок от 3 и есть200 часов, прохождения .     Best game ever made even better than most RPG games it's the best game I ever played since Assassin's Creed BH and it's better than any AC game but the modders are making the game better by a million times fold but all in all it's the best RPG Fps game ever made (Btw Todd give Obsidian there royalties or else we'll burn ur whole career)

    Easily the best RPG game ever made. And it would be a 0 if you couldn't use mods to fix how broke it came out.. Once fixed it, you have the best RPG ever made to enjoy and say goodbye to your social life.

    A Great sequel to Fallout 3 but I don't find the story as compelling as the plot of Fallout 3. The thing about factions is cool but not that great to bend minds over it. Other things seem pretty much similar to Fallout 3. Would still prefer Fallout 3 over this game. Also, you cant continue the game after completing the main quests which is a bummer for me.     This game has game breaking bugs, outdated visuals (since it's a 2010 game) and a combat system that can be greatly improved.

    Even with all of that, I'm still rating this game a perfect 10, this game is a masterpiece and tells one of the most fantastic stories ever told in video game history (at least in my opinion).

    This game is as close to perfect as any game I can think of. The dialogue is great and is very clear in what you are trying to say. The multiple endings are a great feature and make the story feel more unique for you.     I was not a big fan of fallout 4 when I first played it, but when I played Fallout: New Vegas, it made me, who is not even a big fan of the genre, love it. it's a must-play. If you don't like the fallout series, you should still check it out.

    Fallout: New Vegas looks like an Add On to Fallout 3, but that should not mean, that it's a copy of its forerunner. It scores with an great atmosphere, nice story and all the typical and awesome Fallout features.
