Aug 4, 2020With rounds only lasting 15 minutes at most — and that’s if you make it to the final round — Fall Guys is a delightful bite of fun that soothes the itch for a battle royale, without forcing you to think too hard. There is a bit of a random element to the game, especially since you never know how your competitors will react to giant falling fruit or huge hammers knocking your guys around, so the ultra competitive players who just want to win at any cost may get frustrated, but don’t let that stop you. With new stages to be added in coming updates, Fall Guys is already cementing itself in the “favorites” section of my Steam library. [Polygon Recommends]

Aug 10, 2020Problem is, all this wears thin fast. After a couple of hours, I’d already got to the point where seeing certain maps crop up made my poor jellified heart sink. Within a few more hours, my heart looked more like stone. Saying that feels monstrous but it’s true...I’d still heartily recommend Fall Guys in its current form though, because those first few hours were such a treat.

Aug 5, 2020I don’t see the game having the quarantine staying power of something like Animal Crossing unless developer Mediatonic adds dozens of challenges to prevent repetition. (Side note: the company’s overly thirsty social media presence almost turned me off to the game before I was able to play it, so engage with Fall Guys tweets at your own risk.) But for now, at least before Twitch’s most popular streamers ditch it and go back to Call of Duty, Fall Guys is the perfect game for a horrible moment in time.
