Fall Guys is addictively chaotic multiplayer mayhem, and the mid-season update delivers some great new features that add to its replayability.

With just a few small additions, such as private matches and cross-play, this would quite simply become one of, if not the best party games available on current platforms. It can’t be underestimated how difficult it is to create something quite so accessible and fun simultaneously.

Fall Guys is more like a hilarious comedy picture directed by Mediatonic Studios, and reminds us that video games are not just about winning over other players, and sometimes its about having fun with family and friends.

Fall Guys is a hilarious game everyone needs in 2020. If someone does not know that, tell them! Jokes aside, this is a complete Battle Royale experience based on popular Japanese TV shows with a plethora of wisely designed mini-games and gummy characters.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is extremely entertaining, and it’s really hard not to fall in love with it. Bringing some friends is recommended, as it can lead to hilarious outcomes – and it helps during team games, too. With updates, it could easily go from a summer fad to a real mass phenomenon.
  6. Fall Guys invites players to Wipeout style tracks with different characters. I can say that it is one of the most entertaining games of the year.

Fall Guys has a decent foundation for creating some whacky multiplayer mayhem, but with so much of your success resting on luck, the lack of maps, and occasional server problems, the entertainment value rapidly dissipates.

Fall Guys is unique among battle royale games, with a friendly, non-violent design and addictive gameplay loop that make it feel more at home alongside Tetris 99 than PUBG. Like all battle royale games, it relies entirely on a healthy online community playing at any given time, but its early popularity is a promising sign for long-term players. This is a fun, friendly game show of a battle royale that’s safe for kids, with no violence to be found.

After several hours with Fall Guys over the course of a few evenings, we’ve already seen everything the game has to offer. The desire to jump back in is already waning. It’s a fun little game while it lasts – but the question is, just how long will it last? There’s no denying it’s one of the most accessible battle royale games out there; even if you’re not a fan of competitive multiplayer, Fall Guys is easy to jump into and get a kick out of. But it’s a kick that is more than likely short-lived.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is one of the most enjoyable online gaming experiences. With simple controls, heaps of fun, replayable mini-games and customisations (paid or won) that do not alter the gameplay, and a catchy background tune, Fall Guys has everything that causes addictive play. Indeed, even when you are eliminated, there is the immediate urge to hop back in and try your luck again. The only thing that lets Fall Guys down is the inability to play local matches against friends on your couch. The vibrant levels, with their inflatable-like obstacles and moving platforms wouldn’t be out of place on a TV game show. Indeed, I’m now looking forward to the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout TV adaption, where players must don Fall Guy suits and compete in a similar series of wacky and enjoyable events. Until then, Fall Guys will be my multiplayer game of choice.

Sharing Fall Guys with someone is ideal, but the laughs will come even when we're playing alone. This funny experience is enhanced by a visual style that could only be defined as eye candy and a simple, but catchy, soundtrack that makes us dance throughout the game.

Fall Guys’ ingenious game show royale formula is a recipe for success, and its gameplay is full-fat unadulterated fun.

Much like the game shows it's based off, Fall Guys isn't meant to be taken seriously, and there are few multiplayer experiences out there that so wholeheartedly put approachable, inclusive fun at the forefront.

Fall Guys is not only a charming, whimsical take on one of television’s biggest spectator events, it’s on my shortlist of the year’s very best games. I don’t think the Mediatonic team could have ever dreamed just how big of a success their one-page pitch inspired by It’s A Knockout would amount to. It’s insanely addictive with the rapid turnaround episode-to-episode making it easier than ever to keep telling one of gaming’s biggest lies: “Alright, just one more.”

In a genre overstuffed with guns and grenades, this cute and cuddly battle royale stands out.

With its short games and easy-to-grasp mechanics, Fall Guys is easily the most approachable and welcoming battle royale yet. Its bursting color and varied game modes do a good job of reeling you in and keeping you hooked, even if a handful feel at odds with the easygoing nature of its premise. It can be disheartening to have a game end prematurely due to uneven team matches and, worse still, when you're forced into one of Fall Guys' unsatisfying finale modes. But neither are enough to derail the fun Fall Guys consistently generates, with its chaotic obstacle courses and earworm soundtrack ensuring you'll be coming back for more.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is extremely funny, goofy, and I have never stopped laughing while I play it. I can play it with my friends in the same round but it's a pity that I can't really co-op with them.

If none of our hopes and dreams pan out (I'm sure at least some of them will considering the game's early success), Fall Guys is still one of the feel-good excursions of 2020. How much longevity players can get out of it will vary from person to person, but as someone who had essentially called it quits on the all-too-samey battle royale genre, I'm having a ridiculously fun time right here and now.

On one hand I really like a lot of what Fall Guys has to offer. It's bright, colorful, zany, and it controls well, but some of the round types are simply obnoxious and the RNG makes each game a crapshoot.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a little bubble of happiness in a genre - battle royale - that easily boils down to gun battles...The simple fact of having tasted it makes you want to see more. The result is a good game, which will undoubtedly become very good with the arrival of new challenges and the correction of small technical problems.

The game is incredible, and for anyone looking for a great party game that is easy to jump into, Fall Guys might be the game for you. I'm not a big battle royale person, but Fall Guys will be my battle royale of choice for a long time. With its bright visuals, thrilling gameplay, and an excellent soundtrack, Fall Guys will make its mark on the battle royale genre in a way that no other game has before. If you are looking for a party game to play with your friends this summer, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is the game for you.

This is an unmissable, sugary treat, bursting with kaleidoscopic entertainment, and is available for £15.99 on Steam and free via PlayStation Now. It’s a perfect entry point to battle royale games for those who are intrigued by their structure but put off by their violent undertones. And even though you can’t play against your family, you can all gather around the TV and enjoy the hilarity of 60 bean-shaped critters trying to simultaneously cram themselves through a narrow doorway, or across a rotating platform. It is lovely to see a game like this – so aware of its own silliness and so aware that it is exactly what we need right now.

With rounds only lasting 15 minutes at most — and that’s if you make it to the final round — Fall Guys is a delightful bite of fun that soothes the itch for a battle royale, without forcing you to think too hard. There is a bit of a random element to the game, especially since you never know how your competitors will react to giant falling fruit or huge hammers knocking your guys around, so the ultra competitive players who just want to win at any cost may get frustrated, but don’t let that stop you. With new stages to be added in coming updates, Fall Guys is already cementing itself in the “favorites” section of my Steam library. [Polygon Recommends]
  2. Problem is, all this wears thin fast. After a couple of hours, I’d already got to the point where seeing certain maps crop up made my poor jellified heart sink. Within a few more hours, my heart looked more like stone. Saying that feels monstrous but it’s true...I’d still heartily recommend Fall Guys in its current form though, because those first few hours were such a treat.

I don’t see the game having the quarantine staying power of something like Animal Crossing unless developer Mediatonic adds dozens of challenges to prevent repetition. (Side note: the company’s overly thirsty social media presence almost turned me off to the game before I was able to play it, so engage with Fall Guys tweets at your own risk.) But for now, at least before Twitch’s most popular streamers ditch it and go back to Call of Duty, Fall Guys is the perfect game for a horrible moment in time.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. The game is like Wipeout but if you were playing as a small litlle marshmallow dude. This game is made to be easy to play, and hard to master (looking at you, See Saw) the servers can be a bit weird but just return to the main menu/confirm and you'll be good. Full Review »

This game is fun with friends but if you are competitive it will most likely not be for you. I have friends who have played this and they are very competitive and they were not fans.

I can put it this way. If you are playing the game to win you will being to hate this game very slowly but if you are just here to have fun with your friends you will love this game.
