    Attack on Titan clone basically is what it is. You're better off just playing that if anything.

    El problema de este juego es la falta de variedad a la hora de ejecutar las mecánicas, la historia, las misiones. Viendo todo el contenido se puede ver que no se han esforzado por sacar un buen producto o no les dieron mucho tiempo. Como esta es un insulto a la inteligencia de los jugadores que parece que no los toman en serio. Todavía tiene un pase de temporada.     The problem with this game is the lack of variety when executing the mechanics, the history, the missions. Seeing all the content you can see that they have not tried hard to get a good product or did not give them much time. As this is an insult to the intelligence of the players who do not seem to take them seriously. He still has a season pass.     Don't buy it unless you get it on a massively deep sale. Is absolutely in no way worth the AAA $60 price tag they put on it. Extremely repetitive, extremely short, extremely shallow. This game shouldn't be priced any higher than $20 and even then I'd still wait for it to go on sale for $10. Really glad I was able to refund this one.     I beat the entirety of the game within an hour and a half. The thing is a buggy mess and plays like absolute garbage, hitboxes are about 10-50 TIMES the size of models (you can get hit by a fist that landed about 50 feet away), the rappel mechanic barely works (aiming at a Ravenii and instead it grabs a tree half the map away or just plain doesn't work because the camera is whipping backI beat the entirety of the game within an hour and a half. The thing is a buggy mess and plays like absolute garbage, hitboxes are about 10-50 TIMES the size of models (you can get hit by a fist that landed about 50 feet away), the rappel mechanic barely works (aiming at a Ravenii and instead it grabs a tree half the map away or just plain doesn't work because the camera is whipping back and forth between ground level and the head of this 200 foot tall orc (there's no up/down camera control in this game) while the onscreen prompt strobes in and out), once you've played the tutorial you've literally experienced everything there is to see. After doing super attacks on pieces of armor on a Ravenii's head you will sometimes be instantly teleported to the ground, forcing you to either climb back up (climbing is a nightmare in this game, your character just plain doesn't respond to inputs sometimes) or struggle with the broken rappel mechanic.
    You can only cut their arms and legs off at ONE specific location and the process of delivering the final blow is tedious and just not fun. There's no fun in this game, just repetitive **** that looks exactly the same. Fighting the minions is mind-numbingly boring too. There are only four maps and I never paid attention to which map was which because they were boring and similar enough that not one of them stuck out as the best map and I couldn't tell you difference between them right now.
    Your character controls like someone put about 15 minutes of fooling around with the default Unity setup into it and that's all I'll say about that.
    They are charging $60-$75 for this game that I could have seen being a meh title on the Gamecube. It's not worth the time it takes to download and if you buy it you're stupid.

Now in the game, there are 4 different modes to choose from. There is the main campaign, Daily Challenge, Extinction, and Skirmish. Let's start off with the campaign. In the campaign, you are tasked to free many different citiesGame play: In extinction, you are a fierce warrior named Avil, who must take down all sorts of monsters, and rescue civilians to restore piece across the world. Now in the game, there are 4 different modes to choose from. There is the main campaign, Daily Challenge, Extinction, and Skirmish. Let's start off with the campaign. In the campaign, you are tasked to free many different cities and towns from the brutal constant Ravenii attacks. Generally in each level, you must defend the town and free citizens to progress to the next level. However if too many innocent civilians are killed, then its game over for you. This makes the game quite challenging because you need to make sure everyone is safe, but then you got some 100 foot roll ogre rampaging through the streets, so you need to deal with him before you attend to the people. The game is all about the combat. Your basic attack is your typical sword slash, that is really power, however the enemies have really high health, so in order to quickly kill them, you need to charge up your attack for one giant slash that is almost an instant kill and has a large range. These charged up attacks are also the main point of focus when dealing with enormous enemies. These sort of attacks are needed to slice off giants limbs and head off. The combat reminds me a lot of shadow of war and assassins creed. You have many enemies ganging up on you and you have large range sword attacks that deal a hefty amount of damage. The big difference between these games though, is there are no combo counter attacks you can perform to attack enemies with. However I still feel like the gameplay is kind of similar, however that doesn't make the game nay less enjoyable.

    Performance: Now like I said before, I was given the PC version of the game to review, so my experience may differ from the console versions. Now you have the option to run the game at either, 60 FPS, 30 FPS, or unlimited FPS. Running the game at unlimited FPS works fine for me, however my laptop is not fantastic or meant for major gaming. With that said I had to tone down the resolution a bit for me personally to make the game perform better. Even with the lower resolution settings, the game still looked pretty decent, but if you are planning to get this game on PC, then I recommend to check if your PC can handle large detailed and big games, for the best experience. Now for the glitches and bugs of the game. Now the only bug I have encountered so far, is that sometimes the framerate drops down a but, before going back normal. This has actually happened a decent amount of times. It doesn't make the game broken or unplayable, but should definitely be fixed so more people can enjoy this game without any problems. However besides that, I can't really find any other issues.

    ETC: Now like I had said before, there are some more game modes to choose from. There is the Daily Challenge, which is exactly what you think it is. Everyday there will be a challenge that the community can compete in, the best players will be shown on a scoreboard and everyone can see just how awesome you are! These challenges are nothing to complex, like hold off an attack for 9 minutes or save a certain amount of people in 5 minutes. It's a great option for those who seek challenge. Secondly there is Extinction mode. By choosing this option, you are given 1 life to see just how long you can survive endless invasions of enemies until your death. In a way this is kind of like an arcade mode, except there are no re spawns. One death and its over! Lastly there Skirmish mode, which is basically daily challenge, except it's not daily and the challenges don't change everyday. There are a certain amount of challenges this mode offers, but unlike daily challenge there is no constant change in the challenge, so that may get a bit boring after awhile, but only time will tell.

    Overall: Overall: I believe that Extinction is a pretty solid game that contains engaging game play with non stop action that keeps you on your seat, a for decent amount of time. As hours go on, you will start to see so repetitiveness in the game play, but slicing and dicing giants is generally always amusing. I give Extinction an 8.2 out of 10. This is definitely a pretty good game that delivers on the action, but may get repetitive for some. I for one had a really great time with the game anyway. I recommend this title for those who are looking for an upscale action adventure game and those who are fans of the fighting style of Shadow of Mordor with a but mix on assassins creed.    … Expand

    Extinction is the newest game from Iron Galaxy, a studio most known for its contract work, although they’ve now released four original games – the previous three being Wreckateer, Divekick, and Videoball. The studio is currently headed up by Adam Boyes, with a pedigree of both Capcom and Sony Interactive Entertainment. And for anyone that loves memes in the game space, they’ll likelyExtinction is the newest game from Iron Galaxy, a studio most known for its contract work, although they’ve now released four original games – the previous three being Wreckateer, Divekick, and Videoball. The studio is currently headed up by Adam Boyes, with a pedigree of both Capcom and Sony Interactive Entertainment. And for anyone that loves memes in the game space, they’ll likely recognize Dave Lang as well, who was the star of the studio up until recently. Lovers of Kinda Funny may have seen him with the boys showcasing Videoball a couple years ago.

    Knowing that they have some experience in the fighting genre, it’s no wonder that Extinction looks to take an action game and create a battle system that has mechanics which includes cancels. To put it more clearly, think of God of War‘s battle system but with even more emphasis on combos. Progressing through the game you’ll be able to upgrade your abilities, one of which includes being able to attack while dodging, meaning a whole world of new attacks. Interestingly, a good majority of the game doesn’t necessarily require you to use any of these systems, as they are only effective against the smaller enemies that you’ll face off against. I spent a good amount of my time avoiding these altogether as they were often a waste of time in the grand scheme of things.

    Going into this I was under the impression that it was going to be an open world game, along the lines of Darksiders. Turns out this is actually a level-based game with specific goals for each mission, with an assortment of optional medals to be acquired each playthrough, including completion within a set amount of time, defeating a certain amount of enemies, or defeating the Ravenii under certain circumstances. The more medals acquired means more points able to use for ability unlocks. Some levels will even have randomly generated goals, making the experience a bit different each time you play. For those that get stuck in the game, you’re able to replay levels to acquire more experience for abilities.

    For the first half of the game, I spent the majority of my time saving citizens by charging crystals they surround and killing Ravenii. Without sped up charging, this is where you’ll spend a lot of your time utilizing combos. However, the more time spent killing the small fries means more time for the Ravenii to destroy the city, and if the city health gets too low, it’s game over. In my time with it, I was able to save the citizens before they were killed which not only meant more experience for abilities, but a large increase in your kill gauge for the Ravenii. In order to kill one of the gargantuan ogres you need to have a full gauge to slice off the beasts’ heads. Other ways to boost the gauge include killing the smaller enemies, although I spent most of my time attacking the armor and limbs of the formidable foes. This was both efficient in keeping the giants from destroying the city while also preparing the creatures for their death.

    Movement throughout the game is smooth, with the ability of jumping up buildings and walls, as well as bounding through the canopies of trees. It’s when climbing the Ravenii that you will find frustration though, as well as when the game forces you to jump out of the range of the crystals from which the citizens were saved, as I found myself stuck within an invisible force field more often than no. It’s a shame that games that task the player with scaling large enemies means some sort of disenchantment. Oure is the latest game to cause grief in this respect, although I found my fair share of it playing Shadow of the Colossus on the PS2, and a boss near the end of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

    In addition to the main story, the game offers a couple other modes. For lovers of daily challenges, you’re able to compete against others with different goals each day. Of course, it’s in your best interest to prolong these as long as possible to boost your score. There’s also an option that allows you to play as long as you can without dying, which is the game’s namesake. Probably the most unique aspect is the time trial, which tasks you with running through a course of sorts charging crystals. Instead of fighting, this focuses on movement through the game, which is a breath of fresh air to the rest of the experience.

    With an assortment of missions and enemies as the game progress, forcing you to change tactics, there’s a decent amount to dig into here. Regrettably, playing missions back to back can become a bit dull, as the missions themselves don’t differ much in gameplay. Whether you’re saving civilians, defending watch towers for a certain period of time, or killing a set amount of Ravenii, the gameplay loop never really changes. The story itself is also a bit lacking and didn’t do much to keep my attention.    … Expand

    Enjoy this "hold and release right mouse button simulator" where you get killed by 1 hit from a boss.
    Enjoy killing every single enemy with the same boring way. Don't even use the left mouse button, just aim on any enemy, hold RMT and then release. Done, ggwp noob and now about 1000 times again during whole campaign.

    Extinction is quite a simple game yet looks like it could be complicated. The game is short but can be enjoyful at times. There was a few camera angle issue during times of play and a couple of glitches here and there, nothing too major. The graphics are the best part of the game, it does have a good story, however. For what it is, the biggest let down is the price.

    Played for maybe 2 hours. Did not enjoy them at all. Loose controls, crap graphics and a story that your kids will cry to at night. No thanks.

    Do NOT Recommend.

    Extinction une algunas buenas ideas, pero realmente no implementa ninguna de ellas realmente útil y combina todo tan terriblemente mal y por lo tanto crea posiblemente uno de los títulos más aburridos del año. Incluso los modos de distancia de la campaña no aportan ningún valor de repetición para el título de precio completo ya comercializado incorrectamente.

    Two-minute trailer of Extinction that shows an epic battle against a giant ogre might make you interested in the game, but the thing is – if you’ve seen it, you’ve seen everything the game has to offer. Literally. [Issue#230, p.64]
