Five Word Review: Solid controls and dog fighting.
Favorite Thing: Exploring the sectors is great simply because of how well the game plays.
Least Favorite Thing: I never did enjoy the repetitive nature of rogue-likes.

    Date Completed: 2018-02-03
    Playtime: 15h (Completed a run)
    Enjoyment: 8/10
Recommendation: Yes. It's a really good space action game.

All in all this is very addictive and high paced action game. Not a space sim but a dogfighting game and despite roguelike elements that can be frustrating at times, it offers a tons of fun.

Everspace is rogue-lite arcade space sim with continuous skill and narrative progression.

    Pros:
+ Core gameplay is simple but fun. Flying gives a real sense of speed and shooting feels good
+ Controls are easy and well-optimized for gamepad, no need for additional equipment that a lot of VR flying and driving sims require for an optimal experience
+ Visuals are pretty good, locations overall look interesting
+ Flexible difficulty with fair risk and reward. In addition to 3 levels of difficulty, you can always start the fight with neutral ships for huge bonus challenge and loot.

    Cons:
    - Some visual effects are not optimized for VR at all. Cloudy locations and big explosions cause huge FPS drops on any graphical settings
    - Gathering resources can get old: it is not very interesting to shoot static rocks)
    - Finishing main story can require some grinding, but i didn't mind it since I liked the gameplay

One of the best space action games I've played to date. Great gameplay and mechanics. Played through again and again.

A beautiful -long awaited- space sim, with rogue elements. Die, keep the cash, upgrade ship and fly again. Loot brings upgrades for weapons and equipment along with ship repairs -while on missions. Superb graphics and combat even on my old PC. Lots and lots of weapons and enemies to have fun with.

a Simple Indie game die>restart>die utill u get to the end.
well made, well balanced, well looking and fun. Controls are well made. The ships does what you want it to do.
give it a shot, it's worth and challenging, but as is, it wont get you long time before passing to something else.

This game is beautiful and also with good sound effects
The game is also really fun and great controls wich is very important in a space sim, ship shooter
It gets repetitive after a while but if you stop playing for a few days it was back amazing
Its sometimes frustrating but nothing groundbreaking
    A must have for everyone

I liked EVERSPACE, it has good graphics despite, not so fast on my PC.
I liked the exploration at any stage, flight coud be tho sometimes and combat mechanics didn't feel perfect or smooth but fun afterall , the devices and weapons are just great... but there are couple of things in it which I really don't like.

    1. The permanent upgrades you get after each death.

I would MUCH prefer a system which would allow me to upgrade my ship as I go along, during a single run so that I have to improve to face the final boss over time, rather than one which makes the game progressively easier every time I play it, so that, in the end I more or less make it by default.

Yes, I could up the difficulty, but that's not the same, because it's not about making the game harder, it's about the sense of accomplishment which the current system removes. I'd like to start off being bad at the game at one difficulty level and then master it, feel I have improved and then, possibly, up the difficulty level and try to master that.

Rather than being a reward, I feel that every upgrade I apply robs me of more and more of that sense of achievement I might have had when finally winning the game.

    2. The inventory [and now I discover weapon selection shortcuts] pause the game.

I can't count the number of times this has saved my life, I get to consider the situation, manufacture and use consumables, all in my own time, no pressure, no stress, easy! But I still don't like it. It breaks immersion, lessens the impact of the action and generally slows things down.

I'd much prefer a set of effective keyboard shortcuts which allowed me to use ships systems, devices, weapons etc more effectively in real time than anything that paused the game. I could always retreat to a safe space to manufacture components if required.

afterall is a good game and worth the shot at least a try before to buy it.

A wonderful and challenging space title serving as a reminder that we live in the golden age of indie games. Few bugs, great visuals and well optimized. A shining example of what a small developer with a big heart can accomplish.

If you liked FTL and Freelancer, you will absolutely love this gem.

A new breed of space game, I was sure since the first time when I met this game but after around 40 hours spent playing my jaw is broken. Revolutionary gameplay is so useful, enjoyable and what is mostly astonishing, how they arranged movement and fight in this 3D space environment. I know... there are no sounds in vacuum and spacecraft should be subjected to a force of inertia... but this what gives us an unforgettable experience is reasonable compromise between the laws of physics and usable model of flying and fighting. Graphics - I have no words to tell about graphics you just have to see this, feel this... For praise deserves balanced level of difficulty and also we have a vast influence on our performance. There are various opponents which require many particular tactics and weapons - sometimes you can have the heaviest weapon but for example it's weak for shields, therefore if you have no resources to produce "anti-shield missile" you are in trouble. You can always find the other way - one time I didn't have a proper gun to hit small and quick-moving drones which were loading a shield of "Okkarian Corvette", I will not forget my joy when I found solution - I produced the "dron takeover module" then they started to load my own shield. From that moment it was far less hard, to change hostile ship into stardust :) I loved this game from first moment but I can't wait for continuation and development - there is a short story line and only three available spacecrafts. At greater length of time spent in enjoying the space adventure would do well more content, I mean: more type of ships both for player and for opponents and more different "things in space" because they may become repetitive. I hope for a massive DLC with new ships, guns, missiles, modules, appliances, sectors, opponents, amazing landscapes, cooperating in group of ships and of course development of storyline, or maybe something like EVERSPACE 2? :D At the end I want to congratulate to the authors from ROCKFISH GAMES, thank you for this divine game - it's the best which I ever played, good luck and see you in space! It is alright, though the story is not as captivating as other games in the same style, such as Freespace 2 or Starlancer.
The lack of a radar on a flight/space simulator seems dumb, and the fact that you don't have much to work with in the beginning makes the game far more challenging than enjoyable. Since you have no means to fight the game is frustrating, and when you can fight back,

One more average game on a over-saturated market with a lot of promises
Wouldn't say a waste of time, though also wouldn't spend more than 4-5 hours playing this.

I really do not understand the appeal of this game. There is no motivation for me to play it, with a bare-bones story, and with everything seeming to be meaningless. All of your resources are recovered if you die, there is little motivation to engage with the environment, and it seems hollow.

Объективно - 7/10, ибо рогалик. Однако стоит отметить великолепную динамику и проработку концепта, так что не жалко поставить высший балл непопулярной дабл эй игре

The spirit sequel of Galaxy on Fire 2. The picture effect is excellent. But Rouge system has some shortcomings.

No esta tan mal, es bastante bueno pero tampoco es que destaque en nada. Lo que hace lo hace bien pero no llega a sobresalir en ningún apartado

Everspace is one of the best space combat games on the market today. It's fun, beautiful, and a blast to play.

Everspace looks charming, but after 2-3 hours even these beautiful space vistas and intense dogfights will tire you out. Problem is, the whole game is just it: you kill AI enemies and collect their loot.

This might be the prettiest space shooter I’ve ever seen, but it suffers from little variety of enemies. [08/2017, p.60]
