Too much questing and not enough group instances and group zones in this expansion. Difficulty and strategy for most named encounters is beyond the skill of your average group of players. Not enough flexibility in forming instance groups. Raid zones are almost entirely single mob encounters, with almost no group mob encounters in the game. 1. While some of the changes will filter into the game anyway, what RoK does is revamp many areas as well as provide a solid race with a good storyline. The new lands are also worth exploring, with some nice surprises and rewards available to players.
  2. With all things taken into account, Rise of Kunark provides the most comprehensive EverQuest II experience and offers a great deal to both new and veteran players.

As with the previous expansions, there's nothing here that will convince you the EverQuest II is worth playing if you've already decided to pass on it. But for players who are looking to extend the life of a game they already love, Kunark offers lots of amazing diversions.
