    After years of driving i'm getting enough of this game. Roads and crossings really lacks variety, same for the traffic, almost no pedestrians (the few present can't even cross the roads), this game is not living like our real world is plus those roads are always the same and flat, only the corners and some buildings changes there and there.     While I enjoyed playing this game, I don't get the high scoring it gets, it really tells something about the reliability of the people that score the game since this game has big undeniable flaws.

    It's fun to get a truck, improve it, buy a new one, start your own company, evolve it, travel, a relaxing game indeed, but that's it, nothing else. The first problem I have is with the map,    While I enjoyed playing this game, I don't get the high scoring it gets, it really tells something about the reliability of the people that score the game since this game has big undeniable flaws.

    It's fun to get a truck, improve it, buy a new one, start your own company, evolve it, travel, a relaxing game indeed, but that's it, nothing else.
    The first problem I have is with the map, its like a repetition of a repetition, all streets look equal, all the background scenarios look pretty much the same, but at least near cities you can see iconic buildings in the background image. When you arrive to cities, all you have is like two extremely small city blocks, feels really lacking.
    Traffic is horrible, absolutely unrealistic, traffic AI is not better than any mid 90's game, everyone drives at the same speed, no one breaks the law, no one passes a yellow light, there's no overtaking's, just absolutely boring and repetitive.

    For a game that has 'Simulator' in its name, this is a pretty bad simulation, driving the truck feels nice, but that's it.    … Expand

    D'accord, je ne vais pas le nier : c'est rigolol de conduire des bahuts et puis les routiers sont sympas, ouais, ouais, ouais. Mais le jeu n'est pas très réaliste : où est la pause au restoroute pour s'en jeter quelques uns derrière la cravate ? et le pack de kro dans la cabine, il est où ?

D'où je vais me traîner la nouille à 90 ou 110 alors que la vitesse, c'est 130 sur l'autobroute ? et je parle même pas des autobahns... parce que chez nous, vite on livre ! Cela dit, le bestiau plafonne à 133 même sans rien, il faudrait le tuner chez Jacky et ses amis pour qu'il avance.

    Bref, après quelques livraisons, y a pas à tortiller, on s'emmerde sévère tout de même. Oui, on peut monter sa boîte et embaucher des Polonais qu'on paiera en caisses de vodka mais faut emprunter à la banque et j'aime pas m'enterrer chez ces crevards de Cetelem-Sofinco : je préfère encore emprunter à Cosa Nostra...

    De toute façon, il va falloir enchaîner les livraisons parce que ça coûte cher le pognon, qu'est-ce que tu crois... Sinon, bah le jeu n'est pas trop vilain et tourne bien et les routes sont joliment modélisées. Les mises-à-jour ont été nombreuses sur ce jeu mais apparemment à chaque fois, il te remet tous les paramètres par défaut, en tout cas pour les contrôleurs. Non, je veux pas conduire au clavier, même bourré...

    Mais de toute façon, le plus dur finalement, c'est de ne pas s'endormir devant son écran ! et ça c'est pas évident...    … Expand

    There is however a reason why job agencies all around the world have trouble finding people who want to do this job in real life, and it's not just the **** payment (I would love to see an actual truck driver take a look at the thousands of euros you earn here with a single tour. They could make a Siberia DLC and you would still hear him laughing from all the way over there)

    Sitting and driving like this is a strain for the body, and you'll feel it. But the strain on your mind, with your brain slowly melting away while looking at the same assets passing by for hours, is 100 % on point. The experience of turning into a zombie staring on an infinite grey snake of asphalt worming it's way into your soul has delivered one of the most endearing gaming moments of my life, if I'd still been able to feel something.

    It was kind of relaxing, but so is overdosing. But I still ate thousand of miles, driving from small town to small town with weird names like "Berlin" and "Paris", all for the sake of the economic simulation. You know, the stuff behind big announcements like "own your own fleet". I couldn't wait to meet one of my fellow employees on the street, something familiar in this special little hell. You know, some kind of achieverment. Something that makes it all worthwile. I stopped my truck in the middle of the street and waited, and so was everybody else behind me. Looking at the horizon for hours.

    And waited.

    And there, in their own frozen little bubble, they are still waiting, because that's when you realize that it's all for nothing. Your whole logistic empire with all those customized trucks, where you meet your faithful little worker ants all across Europe? Spreadsheets only, baby. They obviously have their own little hell dimension where they drive back and forth and back and forth, and you are all alone, eating asphalt and making money for more entries in your spreadsheet.

    I've done excel presentations with more long lasting motivation.

    Buy only if your inner child demands driving that toy truck that your mother threw away when you turned 23 and you just can't get over it.    … Expand

    I admit that the graphics related to the modeling and truck details are very interesting and realistic. The landscapes and the modeling of other vehicles (especially cars) are a shame though. Buildings and cities are just as ugly to look at.

    I also admit that the controls are interesting and that the developers have thought about every detail of the driving: we can order the wipers, the type of headlights, the height of the seat, the decoration of our truck driver's cabin, and so on. But once we got over the first wonderful impressions, we quickly realize the constant emptiness of content that the game offers us.

    The presence and access of the workshop within the Steam platform is an initiative to be greeted. However the lack of multiplayer mode in the basic game (and I know for a fact that it was added later by huge fans of the game) is deplorable. Speaking of flaws that I can't get over, I can also mention the unacceptable number and price of additional content. I've already mentioned the relative beauty of this game, but if developers happily add a layer of indecency to it, it becomes way too much for me.

    The police will be your worst enemy in the game. Prosperity is already a very difficult goal to maintain, but if you keep getting fined for nonsense (like unconsciously selecting the wrong type of headlight when driving at night), that's too much too. Think about it: a driving game in which you can't cross a red light!    … Expand

    This game doesn't deserve a 10 rating but it doesn't means it is not good. It is an OK game but I have to remove a few points as it is NOT a truck simulator at all. The graphics are quite good and you can manage your own garages and employees, which are great things into the game. It is an OK game but I have to remove a few points as it is NOT a truck simulator at all. The graphics are quite good and you can manage your own garages and employees, which are great things into the game. This game is very addictive and it is a good thing because you spend a lot of good time trying to upgrade your trucks and your skills. However, there are a few things that makes it lose so many points. Every simulators start with the principle that you start without any experience and you learn how to pilot or drive your vehicule so you become better and better each time you practice. Euro Truck simulator 2 is nothing of that. You will start being the best driver on the planet and soon enough, the traffic commits so many infractions that you are getting 10 tickets and 20 vehicule collision per run, which is quite irrealistic considering the fact that most of the real truck drivers never get an accident of their life. Also, the ticket system is quite weird and stupid at a certain point. For exemple, if you have a collision with another car because the other driver stopped in the middle of the highway after overtaking you and getting back on your lane, you are the one who reveive a 400 Euro ticket for hitting him. Basically, the game is good until you arrive at level 20 and people around you starts driving like headless chickens.

    A lot more effort should have gone into this game. Less focus on size and more focus on quality will have made this far more enjoyable, that said this game is clearly aimed at a very particular group of gamers.

    This game has a couple of positives, however the number of negatives within this game is absolutely outrageous! YOU CALL THIS A SIMULATOR, more like a sim-see-you-later. firstly you cannot see your hands on the steering wheel whilst driving, also the fuel magically goes into the truck with no person or even a pump attached to the truck. not forgetting to mention the stupidly expensiveThis game has a couple of positives, however the number of negatives within this game is absolutely outrageous!     The five new countries featured here are all quite beautiful, and offer a vast new road network to explore. This is bound to keep you trucking for hours as you explore every nook and cranny.
