Escape from Duckov is a brilliant, witty, and incredibly addictive experience. It's a must-play not only for Tarkov fans looking for a fresh perspective on the familiar torment, but also for anyone who appreciates deep, systemic games with impeccable game design. It's a loud and clear signal to the entire industry: the future of the genre lies in manageable difficulty, respect for players and their time, and a willingness to embrace bold experiments, even if they start with a joke about ducks.

Escape from Duckov is proof that even a parody can evolve into a meaningful experience. It’s an extraction shooter that’s accessible yet deep, able to deliver all the adrenaline of the genre without PvP, and with a sense of humor that never undermines the tension, in fact, it heightens it. Fun, clever, and polished, Duckov is one of those rare games that make you smile while keeping you on edge, a balance that’s hard to achieve. A small instant cult classic, designed for those who love calculated risks, careful planning, and a touch of well-managed madness.

Escape From Duckov transforms the intensity of extraction shooters into a brilliant and surprisingly solid parody. Behind the ironic nature of armed ducks lies mature, well-balanced gameplay, capable of blending accessibility and tension, lightheartedness and constant stimulation. The loop between raids, extraction, and progression works brilliantly, aided by a pace you're solely responsible for and a refined technical package. If you can't live without competing against other players or don't like the idea of grinding in the later stages, it might leave a bitter aftertaste, but it remains a fresh, intelligent, and characterful experience, recommended for everyone, especially anyone drawn to extraction games but steers clear of them due to the PvP component.

Escape from Duckov might be a parody of Escape from Tarkov, but it's a game that’s both fun to get into and stands all on its own.

Escape from Duckov is one hell of a fun extraction shooter that scratches the itch for the genre in an easy-to-digest package without the initial stress of PvP and more complex game mechanics. It boasts smooth controls, simple but thrilling point and shoot gameplay, and exciting, meaningful progression with just enough of a challenge to not make it a bore. RNG can make or break your runs, but it’s just a small part of everything else good about the game. And of course, the best part—you play as a duck.

Escape From Duckov is one of the most bizarre and successful surprises on the indie scene in 2025, a title capable of making you smile and suffer at the same time. The gameplay loop works, and despite a few issues that make progression a bit slow, it's hard to put down every single session. Despite its minor flaws, this is a title that anyone who appreciates the genre should try, especially considering its future evolution through free updates and mods.

I think the developers at Team Soda did a great job. I would recommend this to players who enjoy a grind and a challenge. If crafting, looting, questing and cute ducks are your thing, then Escape From Duckov might be the game for you. I’m also glad that Battlestate Games is embracing/promoting the game despite the obvious parody of Escape From Tarkov.

The long-overdue field test of a lighthearted extraction shooter that replaces PvP with tactical duck shootouts. Lots of fun.

This humorous single-player take on the extraction shooter formula delivers addictive progression, tactical survival mechanics, and charming visuals, but its repetitive missions and lack of multiplayer make it lose steam over time despite an engaging foundation.

Escape From Duckov is a pleasant surprise provided you have the patience for it. The focus on solo play for an extraction shooter relieves the game of any obvious griefing from overly ambitious players. The slow progression may irk those looking for constant action, but it also will please those players who appreciate being surprised by tense standoffs that start and end quickly. Even if the concept may have started out as a joke, the game shows that it can take itself seriously and provide an enjoyable experience. Unless you absolutely need native controller support, Escape from Duckov is a game worth checking out if you've always been interested in the extraction shooter concept but want to do so without real people constantly hunting you down.

Escape from Duckov isn’t just a funny parody, nor is it a true hardcore extraction shooter, as it sits somewhere in between. It’s fun, but also a bit repetitive, sometimes overly random, and could use deeper mechanics. In the end, though, it remains an entertaining game that even those who dislike being shot at by real players can thoroughly enjoy.

Behind its feathers and humor, Escape from Duckov hides a solid, well-designed game. A pleasant surprise that is funny, tense, and addictive, you'll always come back for “one last run”... before spending a few hours playing.

Escape From Duckov does a lot right while keeping an adorable identity, but it demands too much time without offering enough thrills in return. The game's biggest failings come from being inspired by a title that is fundamentally a bad game that somehow works in spite of its design, not because of it. If the game had taken notes from Escape From Tarkov's atmosphere but fundamentally changed the quest design at the very least, it would have been a hit. For now, Duckov is a lovely tribute with fun moments that overstays its welcome, but its generous price tag will get you your money's worth.

As weird as it is unique, Escape from Duckov offers a new take on the extraction shooter formula. However, the grind and tedium can quickly kill the fun, severely diminishing an otherwise cool experience.

As a purely single-player experience, it feels like a solid introduction to the extraction shooter genre, but even the cute ducks can’t save Escape from Duckov from feeling like a chore.
