    In an attempt to recapture Studio Ghibli’s magic, the creators of Encodya put a lot of effort in amazing visuals, composed excellent music, hired great voiceover actors, and… botched narrative and game design. Without them, Encodya fails on both counts, as a fairytale and a game.

    Despite my frustrations with the puzzles, there’s an engaging story at the core of Encodya. If you’re prepared to accept those flaws, you’d do well to take a look.

It has some flaws, yes (in hard mode some items are very hard to find, a couple of characters don't have great voice acting, and some puzzles are a bit wonky), but overall it's one of the best adventure games I've played in the last few years. Amazing graphic, music and sounds, lovely characters, a sweet story... I truly had fun playing it and the many Easter eggs gave me nostalgia for the 90s p'n'c. I don't understand why few critics have been very harsh for an indie game like this. It deserves way more.… Full Review »
