Hardcore RTS fans will be unimpressed with EOTAs strategically-lacking and limited combat, hands-off management, and overall dull brand of gameplay.
-
I found myself wishing for the gameplay of Maxis "Sim Ant" using the graphics of Empire instead of the lackluster strategy found here.
-
It is indeed fun to control unusual units in battle, but the focus on micromanagement can become a bit more demanding than most players want for their entertainment dollars.
-
The lack of stimulating combat or camp building will turn off quite a few others. But hey, the premise is cool.
-
The idea is really great and the gameplay holds glimmers of what could have been. Sadly, it falls a quite a bit short of perfect. The lack of character and sorry graphics slap the game down at the surface and some interface and gameplay ideas wound the title a little deeper.
-
The game has its moments, but not frequently enough to lift it out of mediocrity. EoA just doesn't do justice to the really unusual and interesting premise.
