Jun 6, 2016Insomniac Games has a storied history that includes many beloved games and franchises, and with Edge of Nowhere, that legacy grows stronger.
-
Jun 13, 2016Edge of Nowhere is one of the more robust and better built-for-VR experiences available today. It has a few shortcomings, but the sum of these is still not enough to keep me from recommending this to anyone with an Oculus Rift that is looking for a comfortable yet still compelling game. [Tested with Rift]

Jul 11, 2016Don’t be fooled: At its core Edge of Nowhere is nothing more (and certainly nothing less) than old school survival horror – unfortunately blended with too much stealth. But it is nonetheless a very good example that you don’t need new concepts to deliver an engrossing VR experience. [Tested with Oculus Rift]

Jun 7, 2016Insomniac does a great job of taking advantage of the sense of presence VR technology can bring, with sequences that put disturbing images up close for examination. The experience isn’t about jump scares; it’s about making you dread what’s ahead, rather than trying to make you soak your seat. It’s not revolutionary, but Edge of Nowhere is a rewarding way to spend an afternoon. Just be sure to crank the AC. [Tested with Oculus Rift]

Jun 6, 2016There are plenty of strange, experimental demos and experiences for virtual reality that aren't easily identified, but Insomniac Games figured out how the technology can enhance a linear, horror adventure game. Edge of Nowhere may implement some well-worn cliches, but it's also one of the first examples of mastery in a new and not particularly well understood medium. [Tested with Rift]
-
Jul 11, 2016Finally a game in VR which shows that the third person is ideal for virtual reality, even if in the end it’s almost all talk and no action.
-
Jun 7, 2016Edge of Nowhere stands out in the current library of VR games only because it’s one of the longer and more polished games out there, but compared to the conventional third-person action-stealth games it closely emulates it’s competent but unremarkable. [Tested with Oculus Rift]
-
Aug 10, 2016Edge of Nowhere is a VR experience with an impressive start, but after few hours the adventures weakens, reproducing the same situations for over and over again.
-
Jul 18, 2016Without Oculus Rift it would be just another adventure, but Insomniac has done a great job making something that is worth your time if you own a VR headset.
-
Jun 6, 2016Not a terrible game, not a great game, and from my point of view, not worth $40. [Tested with Rift]
-
Jun 8, 2016VR can’t elevate Edge of Nowhere’s mediocre climbing, shallow combat, and contrived story. [Tested with Oculus Rift]

Oct 19, 2016Yes, it is good and satisfying and even spectacular to play a traditional third-person action adventure in virtual reality. [Tested with Oculus Rift.]
